As you should have figured out by now, I don’t believe in “Gay Marriage” (thus the quotes). I think it like a lot of the cultural excesses of today are massive exercises in narcissism. As a Roman Catholic it would also be considered sinful.

That being said appalling is not a strong enough word for this:

Unfortunately, the Iraqi government is neck-deep in the gay butchery themselves. Interior Ministry police hunt down gays in Baghdad, raid parties, hunt them online by using fake foreign IP addresses (as Iran does), then tortures and exterminates them in the worst possible ways. Just as Iraqi Spiritual Leader Ali al-Sistani declared they should be, in his 2006 fatwa of death against Iraqi LGBTs. Though removed from his website after controversy, the fatwa is still in full effect.

Allow me at this point to question the spirituality of a religious leader favoring any pogrom, or stating that ANYONE should die in the ‘worst possible ways’.

Here is one former Mahdi Army member who now makes a career of being a gay death squad ’surgeon,’ cutting out the cancer of homosexuality the Americans brought with them to Iraq. His words, not mine. Also, one particularly subhuman technique of killing gays, now quite popular with Iraq’s most pious Shiite extremists, is to super-glue a gay man’s anus shut, pump him full of a diarrhea-inducing compound, and have a few laughs as the victim suffers unbelievable agony before dying. The Iraqi tribes also now have carte blanche to exterminate any Iraqi LGBTs they find.

Job one is Iraq is of course the defeat of any Al Qaeda elements that could threaten either Iraq or the US. The author forgets this, eyes on the prize and all. Still it is our responsibility to do all we can to stop this slaughter and we can actually do quite a bit. To hold the Iraqi’s to a lesser standard would be a bigoted action against them as if they were not civilized enough to know better.

The question is what will the administration do? It is incumbent on us to ask the question.

I must confess to my shame that I had absolutely no idea this was going on in Iraq. With knowledge comes responsibility to speak. So I’m speaking but Mr Simpson gets credit for speaking first.

I’m not much for Gay rallies but if I lived in San Francisco I’d attend the rally of the 17th. If you are in the area you should too. As Americans and as Catholic we need to speak against this evil

And a quick suggestion to our friends on the left. If you want people on the right to attend and support said rally keep it a rally in support of LGBT’s in Iraq and not a rally either against the war or against Christianity or against prop 8. We can argue about those things when people aren’t being slaughtered for their sexual sins.

And in case you are a person who says good riddance, as the moral argument won’t work with you let me make the practical one: If a society can slaughter people over sin, you’d better hope that said society doesn’t decide to make your perceived sins capital ones.

Concerning my last post and what is coming I should point out that there are two curve balls that have the potential to change things fast:

1..From Mr. McCain’s figures you note that places where the secular groups have power have lower fertility rates, and I suspect a lot of those rates come from non-secular people. (It is not uncommon to see 3-4 kids in a family at my church) This process is repeating itself across the nation. In addition the majority of people coming from south of the border are practicing Catholics as opposed to the cafeteria version we see a lot of.

What will be the result when the number of children with a religious upbringing outnumber the children with a secular upbringing 3-2 or 2-1? The result will be a religious generation that can outvote a secular one living in states with massive numbers of electoral votes. Those blue staters anxious to do away with the electoral college better beware, before my children retire they will need those electoral votes to have any prayer to win elections.

2..The same demographic truths are taking place on an even greater scale in Europe only the “breeders” as Mr. Yegleias will be Islamists who will not be content to outvote our friends of the left:

Some guys like Andrew Sullivan understand that I might disagree with him on Gay Marriage but these barbarians would cut his head off and brag about it. A person like me might suffer 2nd class citizenship in an islamist state. Our friends on the left would be dead.

Europe’s demographic change will precede any here. The birthrate gaps are larger and many of the European left will fleeing here before the continent becomes Judenrien, Christianrien and Homosexualrein. This is more ominous than our own cultural problems and has the potential to unite us to prevent the disaster that will unfold. The question will then be if the US and Canada will fight, deal or submit. Our willingness to rise above ourselves, to reject narcissism will decide that question.

I hit polls on my last post, today Mark Steyn in response to Andrew “Birth Canal” Sullivan shows how math actually works:

If you have a million people, 90 per cent of whom are ethnic European and 10 per cent immigrant – and the 90 per cent have a fertility rate of 1.3 kids per couple (the Euro average) and the ten per cent have a fertility rate of 3.5 (the Euro-Muslim estimate), the 90 per cent will have 380,250 grandkids and the 10 per cent will have 306,250. In other words, two generations are all they need to catch up. That’s why cities from Malmo to Brussels are already on the brink of majority Muslim status, as government “Integration Ministers” implicitly acknowledge.

Where Mr Walker gets remarkably incurious is when he coos:

Immigrant mothers account for part of the fertility increase throughout Europe, but only part.

Yes, but what part? Here’s some more numbers. Let’s say you have 950,000 ethnic Europeans whose fertility rate is 1.3. And 50,000 immigrants move in with a fertility rate of 3.5. You’d have an overall fertility rate increase to 1.41, or almost ten per cent, entirely due to a tiny segment of the population. In fact, if 900,000 ethnic Europeans’ fertility rate declined from 1.3 to 1.2, but 100,000 immigrants with that 3.5 rate moved in, you’d still have a ten per cent increase in the overall fertility rate, even though 90 per cent of the population has bought a one-way ticket on the Oblivion Express.

This is why Radical Islam is such a danger, I’m not worried about them getting the nukes from Pakistan, our guys will take them out. I’m afraid that in a generation or two they will own the nukes of France and England.

And that’s before we consider the two other factors: Islam’s numbers in Europe grow through births plus continuing high immigration plus a rapidly expanding rate of conversion.

Europe is growing more Muslim every day. We can debate the speed, but not the direction. I wouldn’t pretend to Andrew Sullivan’s expertise in Governor Palin’s birth canal. But on my little hobby horse I think I’ll stick with my thesis. I’d be happy to take him for falafel at my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam in 2025. And afterwards he can buy me a drink at his favorite gay bar. If he can find one.

I will likely not live to see it even if I wasn’t overweight, but my kids and grandchildren will and God help them

Every time I think the Arthur/Carter Watch isn’t worth having something comes to throw me a curve.

A whole lot of people look at the president and see Jimmy Carter. Looking at his Latin America trip you just want to give him 10 Carter points and be done with it. Combining that with the release of the so called “torture” memos you would think there would be no contest.

But then he turns around and not only decides not to make any legal moves against the people who were protecting us. (To the outrage of the left) but he decides to give the cold shoulder to the Durbin II “racism” conference. And don’t think that Obama not going didn’t give cover for Australia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, and even New Zealand to give it a miss.

Ironically his massaging of the egos of Morons like Castro and Chavez actually adds to the street cred to say this thing is wrong. Granted I think president Bush would have avoided this travasty without having to play other games but that’s not the point. It’s a solid action and he deserves credit for it.

So once again we have an Arthur /Carter Wash. I wonder if we will see a pattern of rethoric to satisfy the left while doing actions that cover himself and his administration in case of trouble.

Maybe it should be the Arthur/Carter/LBJ watch? After all the saying went Lyndon goes the way the wind blows.

Well the score remains Carter 10 Arthur 5. However I don’t know what to actually think anymore.

…well maybe not in FAVOR but in sympathy to the slain pirates. These aren’t my numbers that’s their numbers. That very much explains the coverage of yesterday.

6:43 a.m. The environment is poisoned politically. I don’t see how it will be a burden on the republicans since they don’t have the votes and the democrats do.

6:53 a.m. I’ve never seen a grounder go between two people legs at once. Of course they are Yankees so it makes it sweeter.

6:58 a.m. Honor the Messiah or else Arizona!

7:01 a.m. It’s pretty sad when SNL is the only TV show that actually even pretends to ask Biden if what he said was actually true.

7:06 a.m. The Darwin awards were made for that woman with the bears.

7:08 a.m. Very good point on the image stuff.

7:27 a.m. Instead of talk like a pirate day we need apparently Hug a pirate day.

7:29 a.m. Pat had the best line: “The terrorist’s were misguided when they stuck their head out of the porthole.”

7:31 a.m. The Somalia point is a good one, but China is protecting them due to oil contracts Todd should have mentioned that.

7:33 a.m. Only MSNBC could have asked what if the sailors missed their shots.

8:03 a.m. My mother and aunt are visiting that trumps joe.

Try not to go Kryten when you read these two paragraphs that believe it or not are from the same story one directly after the other:

“If you bother us again, we will order someone in Mogadishu to meet you,” a gang member added before the line went dead.

Often, though, the pirates are friendly and helpful, though they detest use of the p-word. “We never kill people. We are Muslims. We are marines, coastguards — not pirates,” one said.

Maybe it is because although I was born in 63 my parents were born in the early 20’s and my father served in the pacific during World War II but I just can’t wrap my head around this stuff or the ability of people to let this stuff go.

…after all when morality is relative why should this bother you:

The Taliban flogged a 17 year-old girl in public for in Pakistan’s northwestern region of Swat, where Sharia law was introduced after the government reached a truce with the Taliban in February. The girl was seen in public with a man who was not her husband. This is what happens when you allow the Taliban to control a region.

Maybe these are the “moderate” taliban” we have been hearing about, after all they didn’t kill her.

Newsbusters notices something missing concerning a shooting in Minnesota:

We have a shooting incident in Minnesota perpetrated by three Muslim Somali immigrants but for some reason almost every single media report about the incident omits the names of the shooters, names of obvious North African origin. So, the question is, did the Old Media in Minnesota purposefully leave the names unreported so that they could cover up the fact that the criminals were Somali immigrants? And, if so, why would they do this?

How about that!

What will happen when Gitmo closes? Where will the terrorists go? Where will we find them? Apparently all we have to do is look out the window:

Holder told reporters at the Justice Department that the administration’s review, made on a case-by-case basis, would determine whether the prisoners need to be put on trial or whether they can be released.

“For those who are in that second category, who can be released, there are a variety of options that we have. Among them is the possibility that we could release them into this country,” he said.

After Gateway pundit’s jaw is picked up from the ground he reminds us:

Honestly, what could possibly go wrong?

Stop the ACLU has video with apologies to Mr. Rogers.

Hey I hear there is one house in Bill Ayers neighborhood that isn’t getting much use now.

Update: The WSJ weighs in, along with Hotair.

Update 2: Captain Ed:

I find myself growing nostalgic for the days when American government kept Americans safe, instead of the terrorists.

…comparing Bush to Bad Nazis.

You know that you’ve fallen far as a columnist when you can be safely put in the same category as Dennis Kucinich.

Oh and the information from Sullivan’s link comes from interviews with Al Qaeda terrorists who would cut his throat for being Gay as soon as look at him. Sullivan’s link doesn’t make that clear but NPR does.

There is a point where someone has gone so far over the edge that you just have to ignore them. I’m very sorry to say that Andrew has reached that place.
