Latino Leftists go all in on the “ethnic” “justice”:
The “Tequila Party,” a Latino group formed in opposition to the Tea Party, wrote to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and FBI Director JamesComey on Monday torequest that the Tea Party and several officials be investigated for their role in protesting and blocking the transfer of illegal aliens captured in Texas toMurrieta, California. The protests on July 1 turned back three busloads of aliens, though more are scheduled to arrive.
In their letter–signed by California attorney Ruben Salazar, pro-amnesty activist Dee Dee Garcia Blase, and Nebraska attorney Shirl Mora James–the group, writing on the letterhead of a new organization called “Somos Independents,” called on Holder and Comey to launch an “outside investigation” of Murrieta city councilwoman Diana Serafin; U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents Steven Golda and Gabe Pacheo; Murrieta mayor Alan Long, protest leader Patrice Lynes; the Murrieta Police Department, and local resident Joseph Culberson.
In other words, these people are looking to have Holder’s DOJ facilitate the detention of real and perceived Tea Party members–and to have the FBI arrest them as domestic terrorists. Oh the irony of that!
Tequila’s well-earned nickname is Ta Kill Ya. We all know that this is the ultimate intent of the Organized Left–to purge the world of “non believers.” Bill Ayers told us so. All of the lawlessness perpetrated by the government is intended to goad enough of the citizenry to violence, so that the purge will have the appearance of justification.
And, guess what, my Latino friends of all nationalities and political persuasions: when your usefulness comes to an end, you’ll be purged also. The Left has always styled itself as the champion of the brown and the poor–until we become inconvenient and too mouthy. Same as it ever was; ta-kill-ya, indeed.
Solution? This, too, is the same as it has always been: beseeching the Almighty and trusting in Him.
Drink the Living Water–or the poison brown water. Your choice.

290,000. That’s how many illegal aliens the Obama Administration has inserted into this country. It did this boldly and without any camouflage—in the same manner in which it commits the dozens (hundreds) of other crimes against the citizenry.
In particular, however, this destruction of our southern border is a bold and contemptuous slap in the face to black American Democrats—the majority of black Americans. While all Americans have suffered under Obama’s economic attacks on this country—euphemistically called economic policy—blacks have suffered proportionately more than other subgroups, especially in the unemployment sphere. (This is due to our own political and economic short-sightedness and illiteracy as a group—our inability to see past our own pride at having someone in the White House who may look like one of our relatives.)
I almost said that President Obama has seen fit to make black Americans suffer more, but I know better. He could not give a rat’s about black Americans and why should he? After all, black liberals/ Leftists voted for him 100% and they aren’t going to do anything about his betrayal but mope silently. Or, they will blame the white man for Obama’s “failure”–for somehow forcing Obama to let the illegal aliens in–oblivious to the fact that this particular method of absolving Obama of guilt makes him in particular and black people in general appear to be weak and inferior.
“Sit down and shut up.” A few years back, Barack Obama said, basically, this to the Congressional Black Caucus when a few of their brighter members—the one with IQs in the high 90s—began to notice that the president had not become black America’s new Patron.
Well, since the importation of a new group of slaves, the brighter black liberals in general have begun to get it as well. The rest, however, will continue to worship at their master’s feet as their lives–and this country–slide into chaos.
Not slipped into it, but pushed by their Master, Barack Obama. Thus always to rubes.
With respect to how I look at things, some observers have said that my view often gives a previously un-articulated perspective—a compliment. Others have called my views contrarian—not a compliment; the implication being that I intentionally take a side on a given topic about which few others or no others are taking.
The truth is that I can’t help my oddness. I was born this way; ask my parents. Of course, an example follows.
I’ve long been mulling over how the Civil Rights Act of 1964—its 50th anniversary is tomorrow– has adversely affected how we view the rights of American businesses owners to run their businesses as they see fit. It seems to me that the CRA’s language conflates the definitions of public and private with respect to businesses.
We’ve all read about the Bad Old Days, and some of us lived through them. The President Wilson-mandated segregation in government service lasted until President Truman signed the National Security Act of 1947, which, among other things, desegregated the U. S. Armed Forces. However, state and locally mandated segregation stemmed from Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) and, though Brown v. Board of Education (1954) signaled the end, that end did not happen immediately.
Public services—buses, trains, etc.– were segregated by law, but so were privately owned businesses—that is, businesses not “owned” by any level of government. And, while these laws were directed at black Americans, they didn’t just apply to them, but to all other Americans as well. Therefore, even if a white business owner did not want to segregate his business, he was compelled to do so under pain of prosecution. The issue was freedom and government did what it usually does: curtail it for all concerned.
Fast forward to the Civil Rights Act. It outlaws discrimination in public services—that is, services which are paid for by taxpayers: public transportation, public schools, public parks, etc. That’s a good thing. However, it refers to private businesses (“accommodations”) as public services.
Outlawed discrimination in hotels, motels, restaurants, theaters…
And, this is the basis for the confusion we see now for what a business owner may or may not do and his/her choices as to whom he/she is willing to provide goods and/or services. Remember the sit-ins? Brave and admirable, but the very act betrayed a dearth of education and an abundance of indoctrination.
One wonders if the conflation in the CRA language was done on purpose—to taint the document that underscored the 14th Amendment. Or, perhaps the purpose was to make government control of individuals and their money easier. (I’m sure that a few Dixiecrats used the latter reasoning to oppose the CRA. But when your enemy says something logical, it doesn’t make that thing less logical–or less true.)
I don’t know. However, there should no longer be any wonder that a Christian business owner is legally compelled to service a same–sex “marriage” ceremony.
My opinion: there should be a legal method of outlawing mandated segregation without mandating integration of any sort. But, doing that would required a politically educated populace, rather than a politically-indoctrinated, emotionally-charged one ready to scream RACIST!!! at the drop of a hat.
Besides, I think we’re almost to the point where certain types of separation will occur again. Let’s pray that these will be as painless as possible.
The weekend posts at Ace of Spades HQ are, for the most part, interest-specific. The guns, food, gardening threads, and my favorite, the Sunday Book Thread, are posted by Ace’s co-bloggers, giving the proprietor the weekend off. Usually.
Today, however, there’s a people story posted by one of the co-bloggers, WeirdDave; it’s a recount of a possible attempted grift/robbery. Or, perhaps it was merely a cavalcade of incompetence from an observer’s viewpoint; Dave isn’t sure. Go read it; then come back.
In the comments, many are lamenting the decline of competence–that old can-do spirit–among Americans born later than the Baby Boomer Generation and I agree. I’m a late-born Boomer–1961–but I can’t point the finger too much, however, without pointing at myself. I’m a city girl and a bit of a BAP. However, there are many things that I learned to do in my middle age or had to do because of perceived lack of resources.
A small example: I sell items on the usual websites know for selling and when I went shopping for packing materials, I was appalled at the prices. So, I went online looking for DIY packing materials. When I found them, my response was, “of course.” I made virtually free packing materials using things I would normally put in the recycle bin: balled-up circulars–which perennially clog my mailbox–and shredded paper stuffed and stapled into brown paper lunch bags. (The bags did cost $2 for two hundred.) I was proud of myself for finding the information, but, in hindsight, it seemed so obvious. And, therein lies another revelation.
You can do what you have to do when you are determined to do what you want to do. And, more often than not, your solution(s) will be right in front of you if you are looking for them. It’s a feature of God’s grace.
And I think that’sthe issue which Dave and the commenters are observing: lack of desire to learn new skills , lack of desire to acquire new abilities, lack of desire to improvise, to adapt, and to overcome. It’s a dearth of vision and of faith.
We have become so used to convenience that, when faced with inconvenience and/or adversity, many of us panic or become angry–as if our rights have been violated. We have forgotten that this is a world of Murphy’s Law–if we ever actually learned it in the first place—and, therefore, we fail to make contingency plans for feces to happen. And when feces does happen, we give up—or throw a fit, which amounts to the same thing.
Determination is the missing element in much of 2014’s American population, and I predict that determination’s presence will be the key element of survival in the tougher times to come.
The good thing about determination, though, is this: it’s free…like God’s grace.
A couple of weeks ago, I meant to comment on Roger L. Simon’s piece on Moral Narcissism. In it, he expounded on a phenomenon which I’ve seen and been irritated by all my life, but had no name for.
Moral Narcissism is an evocative term for the almost schizophrenic divide between intentions and results now common in our culture. It doesn’t matter how anything turns out as long as your intentions are good. And, just as importantly, the only determinant of those intentions, the only one who defines them, is you.
In other words, if you propose or do something, it only matters that you feel good or righteous about what you did or are proposing, that it makes you feel better personally. The results are irrelevant, as are how the actual activity affects others.
Roger points to egregious examples of our society’s Invasion of the Moral Narcissists.
The Obama administration is loaded with moral narcissists, including, obviously, the president himself — Valerie Jarrett, Susan Rice, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton etc. The media and Hollywood are also clearly stuffed to the gills with moral narcissists.
Obamacare is a perfect example of moral narcissism in action. Never mind that the public didn’t want it. Never mind it was an atrociously planned bureaucratic mess (in fact that comes with the territory). It was what Barack Obama wanted — for himself.
Moral narcissism creates an atmosphere of dishonesty bizarrely similar to Islamic taqqiya. In Islam, the believer is permitted to lie to the non-believer because the believer has the greater truth. For the moral narcissist, lies becomes truth in almost the same manner. Some like Dan Rather (a moral narcissist par excellence) could thus pronounce the Bush National Guard papers real when anyone with an IQ in triple digits could see that they were fake. They felt real to Dan. And, crucially, that made him feel good about himself.
Roger goes further in claiming that the Bergdahl affair was another example of moral narcissism in action: that President Obama fancies himself “The Great Emacipator, Part II.” It is here that I disagree with Roger.
Barack Obama had it within his power to help sixof his fellow Muslims get back to their respective homes, so that’s what he did. It was simply an act of Islamic loyalty; nothing more complicated than that.
In my backyard, there is a bougainvillea bush at the northwest corner of the property. My neighbor’s garage sits on the west border and, a couple of years ago, I attached a wooden trellis to the wall of it, in order to feed the vines of the bush through so that it would grow along the wall.
To facilitate this, I’ve had to guide some of the vines into the trellis, and cut away other vines which grew along the back wall or in a direction which they could not be guided where I wanted them to go.
One year, I made the mistake of cutting off too many branches at one time and the bush went into shock. I thought it might die, but my ministrations nursed it back to health. I had learned my lesson: only a couple of clips every few days.
This morning, as I was sitting in my backyard drinking coffee and praying, my eyes lit upon the plant and it occurred to me that this is what God does with us when we accept Jesus the Christ as Lord and Savior and when we allow Him to order our steps. He leads us in the way He wants us to go and cuts off the paths that are not of His will. Sometimes the sundering of these paths will be painful but He knows how much pruning we can handle. And, He will always be there to get us through the pain.
Through this train of thought—of meditation on the nature of God—I was also reminded that the Enemy is an imitator of God and that his imitation is always a parody–and also, that the Enemy’s servants behave like their father.
We can take this and apply it to what we see happening to our country. Every institution of our government and society is being hollowed out by these servants and used as a weapon against the people of the United States. We used to be able to rely on these institutions, but we can no longer. Doing the will of their father, the servants cut off old avenues of redress and destroy previously solid foundations in order to push us in the direction they want us to go.
But, where our Father acts with love, they are imitators of their father in that they act without love. They are lopping off every branch as fast as possible, pushing us in the direction which will garner their ultimate objective: not love, but power over all things and all people.
However, something always happens each time the Enemy thinks he has God’s people cornered; God rides to the rescue providing an out—under two conditions.
1) God’s people have to ask Him to be delivered.
2) God’s people have to be obedient.
Trust of and faith in God is implicit in both.
So what are you going to do about the many-pronged attack? I know what I’m going to do. Trust, have faith, listen, and then…act based on that.
With scandal, after scandal, after scandal, after scandal being perpetrated by the Obama Administration—wording intentional–I thought that I would finally take the time to address an issue regarding the reaction to Obama’s acknowledged Kenyan Luo heritage—a heritage which I share.
For the last six years, it seems that everything that Barack Obama has touched or touted fails and that has included the institutions of this country. One might conclude that President Obama’s touch on the very country itself is causing it to fail.
But, the widespread demonization of the Luo tribe of Kenya—that it is an Arab Muslim tribe of slavers– cannot be blamed on the president. (The tribe exists in significant numbers in Uganda and Tanzania as well.)
It seems like a long time ago but I most certainly remember the origin of the notion that Barack Hussein Obama is 50% white, 6.25% black African and 43.75% Arab. It came from a man named Kenneth E. Lamb. Lamb laid out a meandering blog post, sans references, on how he allegedly found this information. I recall sending him an email and commenting on his post. Both my responses refuted his findings and I found it interesting that he had no linked sources to back up his claims. So when I was contemplating this post, I went looking for Mr. Lamb’s post and, lo and behold, the post has been deleted. Perhaps Mr. Lamb had an attack of conscience—though deletion smacks more of cover-up. But, the damage—the Blood Libeling of the Luo Tribe—had been set in motion. There is always the Web Archive, however, and thank God for it.
So the IRS lost two years worth of Lois Lerner’s emails? Huh.
And they are saying that it’s a hard disc error? Hmm.
And there are no servers with these emails on them? Imagine that.
And the House Ways and Means Committee Chairman has asked the…wait for it…the Department of Justice to investigate these “missing” emails? I’m sure that Attorney General Eric Holder will get right on that.
I remember when Former President Clinton’s National Security Adviser, Sandy Berger, absent-mindedly walked out o the National Archives with classified documents which had fallen into his socks. Then, one day, as he was walking around the house with the documents in hand, he tripped and dropped the documents. They, unfortunately fell into the blades of the scissors which were lying on the floor and they were turned into ribbons.
For his “unfortunate mishap,” Berger received a misdemeanor verdict of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material, was fined $50,000, placed on probation for two years and stripped of his security clearance for three years—and received no jail time. That was in 2005.
I’m guessing that one of the Clintons wrote a check to Mr. Berger. Services rendered and all that.
There was some outcry online for a bit, but it died down and the Left took note. So did I.
Back then, it seemed to me that this brazen incident of theft and destruction of classified documents—and its outcome–was some sort of test. The Left wanted to see what it would be able to get away with, and it did indeed see. Berger basically got away with his heist and it was the proverbially harbinger of things to come.
As a result, and with the inauguration of President Obama in 2009, the Left and its primary host, the Democrat Party, have upped the ante: more theft, more egregious law-breaking and each time, the stakes become larger. The secondary host—mainstream media outlets like the New York Times–does its part by failing to report these crimes.
The perennial question remains: what are you, the People, going to do about it?
UPDATED: The harbinger may have happened a bit earlier than I thought.
I have trouble blogging about politics in the manner that I used to before 2008: as if there were any politicians who might have the peoples’ best interest at heart.
Every move made by any politician earns the side-eye from me.
The last part of this statement needs to be corrected. Every move made by this government—by this administration—is that of an enemy. It’s plain to see that the Obama Administration is destroying this country on purpose—hollowing it out from within and shaming among the other nations of the world. That last is being achieved by turning all foreign adventures of the Bush Administration into victories for the opponents. (I pray fervently for anyone who has lost a loved one in or who was disabled in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. It’s bad enough to be killed or permanently maimed through these conflicts. But, when our leaders make all the sacrifices for naught…)
And the members of the “opposition” party are worse. How so? Through the inaction of some, they show their fear. Through the collusion of others, they show themselves to be more treacherous than those who are open enemies of this nation. God hates cowards and traitors.
The masses are being plundered on a scale which is inconceivable and unmatched in history; it is the source of the middle classes dying in the developed world. The developed world has become a well-disguised plantation of serfs and slaves. They are given nothing to store and save their labor in as the currency they hold are printed endlessly and have no reserves to back them and are redeemable in NOTHING, contrary to every sound currency in history. Modern day money is nothing less than a wealth confiscation scheme run by morally and fiscally bankrupt central banks and governments against their own citizens.
I praying and preparing—and preparing by praying. I hope you are, too.
It is one of the ironies of life and history that Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin (Russian: Алекса́ндр Серге́евич Пу́шкин)—a Russian man partially of African descent–is considered the founder of Russian literature. It is as though the influence of Other was meant to be added to a society which has demonstrated well-documented xenophobia and antipathy toward non- Russians.
Pushkin pioneered the use of vernacular speech in his poems and plays, creating a style of storytelling—mixing drama, romance, and satire— associated with Russian literature ever since and greatly influencing later Russian writers. He also wrote historical fiction. His The Captain’s Daughter provides insight into Russia during the reign of Catherine the Great.
Born in Moscow, Russia, Pushkin published his first poem at the age of fifteen, and was widely recognized by the literary establishment by the time of his graduation from the Imperial Lyceum in Tsarskoye Selo. Pushkin gradually became committed to social reform and emerged as a spokesman for literary radicals; in the early 1820s he clashed with the government, which sent him into exile in southern Russia. While under the strict surveillance of government censors and unable to travel or publish at will, he wrote his most famous play, the drama Boris Godunov, but could not publish it until years later. His novel in verse, Eugene Onegin, was published serially from 1825 to 1832.
In other words, Pushkin penned his works in a manner that the normal, every-day Russian could understand and, by doing so, shaped the Russian language in his own image thereafter. Two and a half centuries before him, William Shakespeare played an identical role for the English language. Continue reading “Sons of Russia and of Africa”→
