The level of acceptance of the positions and/or actions of any group or organization by the left and media is directly proportional to their current or potential value in electing liberal Democrats.

DaTechGuy’s 2nd Law of Media Outrage

There was a lot of surprise on twitter and on the net at the treatment of Bill Clinton on the Today show yesterday.

HMMM: Morning Joe Panel: This ‘Is the End of Bill Clinton’s Life As a Public Figure.’

NBC reporter Craig Melvin asked Clinton if he ever apologized to Lewinsky, which led Clinton to become defensive and talk about how he paid a steep cost for his actions. Clinton and Lewinsky, then a White House intern 27 years his junior, had a series of sexual encounters between 1995 and 1997, culminating in a political scandal that rocked the administration.

“And so what you saw there, I think is the end of Bill Clinton’s life as a public figure in this country,” MSNBC political commentator Steve Schmidt said. “Because of that interview I don’t think he’s campaigning anywhere ever again unless he can clean it up and fix it pretty quickly.”

Anchor Joe Scarborough said if Clinton wants to be on the campaign trail in 2018, he will need to take responsibility for his actions.

In one respect this surprise is not unreasonable particularly given the history of Bill Clinton on Morning Joe as I noted back during the 2012 primary season:

Today there is a big press conference with Herman Cain addressing the now specific accusations against him. By an odd coincidence MSNBC’s Morning Joe had President Bill Clinton Scheduled for the 8:15 tine slot.

They had him on for 30 minutes and they talked economy, trade etc, yet not a person on that set asked him a question about the issue leading the news today, how he would suggest Cain deal with it and what lessons he learned from it.

That really says it all, Morning Joe and MSNBC have Bill Clinton, the single most famous political sexual harasser, a man who is still 15 years later the butt of jokes on the subject. (Even in the latest funny or die clip they play Clinton hitting on Michelle Obama)

Yet not a word, not a question, not a hint.

You see these were the Halicon days before #metoo when Bill Clinton was a money machines for the left, Harvey Weinstein had access to the White House and Matt Lauer was considered a giant of journalism.

And even as late as the election 2016 the MSM took great lengths to make sure that if any suggestion that there was something wrong with Bill Clinton they took great lengths to keep it hidden:

So,  You’ll have absolutely no problem sharing this clip with people far and wide and giving them a hint about the relationship between Jeffery Epstein and Bill Clinton and how the media views it…provided you are someone like me who

already saw the clip

remembered what show it was on

knew what day it was broadcast

And knew what time segment to look for

As for everyone else NBC says to you: Beware of the Leopard!

So given this history any questioning of Clinton on the Lewinsky matter is a bit of shock, at least if you ignore DaTechGuy’s 2nd Law of media outrage:

The level of acceptance of the positions and/or actions of any group or organization by the left and media is directly proportional to their current or potential value in electing liberal Democrats.

As long as Bill Clinton had current or potential value to the electing of Democrats these subject were not discussed in the MSM. This is the surest sign that no matter how much juice Bill Clinton once had, the Democrat/media left has decided that Bill Clinton’s has little or no current and/or potential value in electing liberal Democrats in 2018 and thus the level of acceptance of his previous actions is now correspondingly low.

As Rush Limbaugh noted yesterday I bet Bill Clinton wishes Matt Lauer was still at Today asking the questions.

Thus does NBC go from a safe haven to a battle field for Mr. Clinton because he doesn’t have the pull of Samantha Bee when it comes to electing Democrats.

How have the mighty fallen!
