As a general rule Robert Stacy McCain should be read at all times but this paragraph is so good and so true that it should be shared with every single person in the United States today who complains about a “microaggression“:

All talk about “equality” between men and women, especially in the context of history, should bring immediately to mind the fact that the vast majority of people who have ever lived were quite poor. Especially if you are judging from the standpoint of someone living in a 21st-century industrialized Western democratic society, you are applying to men and women a measurement of “equality” that is absurd. Go back scarcely 100 years, and my own ancestors in rural Alabama were plowing their farms with mules. They had neither electricity nor indoor plumbing. They drew their water from a well and cooked over a wood-burning stove. Do you think my grandfather and grandmother circa 1916 had time and leisure to worry about whether they were “equal”? They were both working from sunup to sundown, and when I say “working,” I mean hard, physical labor, not sitting in front of a computer in an air-conditioned office building.

My grandparents came here from Sicily. They did not read or write English and I’m not aware if they read or wrote Italian or not. My father worked like a dog when he was young, fought in World War 2 and came home to run a business where he and my mother worked 60 hour weeks at minimum while raising five kids. While things have been tough for me relative to how they once were I have never in my life worked as hard as my parents and grandparents have and the only reason why that is true is BECAUSE:

1. They were willing to work like dogs so I wouldn’t have to

2. The United States as the ultimate expression of western civilization made it possible for
their hard work to be a means to an end rather than the norm for their lifetime.

It is only by my grandparents willingness to come legally to this country and work hard and my parents willingness to emulate this example that my life is as good as it is. Moreover no matter how they worked they they never for a moment neglected to recognize their blessing nor fail thank God for them.

I am profoundly grateful for their example and will close with this warning from Stacy McCain that is only slightly less profound than the paragraph I’ve already quoted:

It may be easy to take for granted the peace and prosperity we enjoy as Americans, but it is not wise to take it for granted.

That is good advice that the young of today should take to heart.

…is not that a cause does not make even a phony gay “marriage” successful:

I feel not only as though I have failed to realize my own hopes for my marriage and family, but also that I’ve failed to uphold the “happy, healthy lesbian family” image that has helped open the hearts and minds of the American public to LGBT people.

So, her family was all about “image” — a political public-relations stunt.

It’s that the intrinsic power of motherhood is so strong that it allows even a feminist to learn

when my son was being bullied by a girl . . . at school. . . . I knew she said mean things to him. I knew she had shoved him a couple times. But it wasn’t until I saw tears in my son’s eyes that I really got it: she was bullying him, he was asking teachers and playground supervisors for help, and no one was stepping up for him.
Why? Gender.

Or put simply the love for her son is so great that it was able to overcome decade of feminist indoctrination that she was a part and party to.

Of course Stacy McCain can see the origins of her son’s grief that still eludes Cheryl Dumesnil.

it is feminism that is responsible for the anti-male prejudice in our culture, and if you hadn’t spent all those years so distracted by your campaign to destroy the traditional family, perhaps this problem facing your sons would have been as obvious to you as it is to the rest of us. But when your “happy, healthy lesbian family” image is more important to you than anything else, it’s easy to overlook all the unhealthy and unhappy stuff hidden behind the public-relations façade.

The irony in all this, this, not gay marriage is a true example of what happens when love wins.

So when they had assembled, Pilate said to them,

“Which one do you want me to release to you, (Jesus) Barabbas, or Jesus called Messiah?”

For he knew that it was out of envy that they had handed him over.  While he was still seated on the bench, his wife sent him a message, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man. I suffered much in a dream today because of him.”  The chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas but to destroy Jesus.

The governor said to them in reply, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They answered, “Barabbas!”  Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus called Messiah?” They all said, “Let him be crucified!”

Matthew 27:17-22

If there is one thing that Stacy McCain knows it’s crazy and when looking at the Baton Rouge shooter that’s what he sees.

Besides which, I am a well-known expert in craziness. I’ve been studying kooks for years, and when I say somebody’s crazy? Trust me.

Gavin Eugene Long was deranged, daft, demented, cracked, zany, wacko, bonkers, off his rocker and a few fries short of a Happy Meal:

Now as he points out “crazy” and “racist” are no more mutually exclusive than “sane” and “racist” nor does a his craziness make those who encouraged or affirmed his racist opinions as he put it:

This kind of kook cult conspiracy stuff is always floating around out there. You’ve got white people who are into weird pagan sex cults, feminists who are into astrology, tarot, “goddess spirituality,” et cetera.

Was it entirely coincidental that a crazy kook cultist like Gavin Long was inspired to drive to Louisiana and shoot cops? No, because the “Black Lives Matter” movement appeals to the same kind of Afrocentric racial insanity that led Gavin long to rename himself “Cosmo Setepenra.”

This is the problem with media coverage that deliberately feeds into racial paranoia in the black community,

Now when it comes down to it, everybody has their own issues and if this guy had just remained a crazy black nationalist racist with a chip on his shoulder that would be fine, it would be on him and several police would still be alive today.

Instead radical groups of the left, with a big assist from both the Media and the White House decided to play into that crazy for their own political ends.

That’s why to Twitter, a guy like Robert Stacy McCain who owns more books written by radical feminists on feminism than most Woman’s studies majors and has read more of them than professors of woman’s studies professors can be banned from Twitter for quoting those feminists and others public statements while a guy like Gavin Eugene Long was considered just fine, until he started gunning down cops

The Jewish elders pushed the crowd to call for Barabbas for political reasons, the twitter Safety crowd called for Gavin Eugene Long in the same way because that choice affirmed their prejudices and didn’t dump him until it was inconvenient.

Unexpectedly

Exit question:  How many other Gavin Eugene Longs are now on twitter cheering the murder of police while Stacy McCain remains banned?  Anyone Bueller?  BUELLER?

You might have forgotten the swatting of Stacy McCain and the threats against his family but the law didn’t:

The FBI contacted me earlier this month to tell me that the guy responsible for targeting me in a March 2013 SWATting incident was scheduled for sentencing in federal court, but I couldn’t report anything about it until after the hearing. Because of last week’s Dallas attack, the hearing date Monday slipped my mind, but here’s the official statement:

New York Man Sentenced To 24 Months in Prison
For Internet Offenses, Including “Doxing,” “Swatting,”
Making a False Bomb Threat, and Cyber-Stalking

WASHINGTON — Mir Islam, 22, of New York, N.Y., was sentenced today to 24 months in prison on three federal charges stemming from a conspiracy to commit various crimes related to the “swatting” and “doxing” of dozens of victims, and from a false bomb threat made against a university in Arizona and a pattern of online harassment constituting cyber-stalking against a university student, all occurring between February and September 2013.

And Stacy notes that things might not be over here.

FBI made a point of stating: “The investigation is continuing.” When I was notified a year ago that a then-unnamed person had copped a plea with the feds, I said: “Let justice be done. Let the guilty fear punishment for their crimes, so that the innocent need never fear.”

Mir Islam is now in federal prison, but there are still guilty people who have yet to face justice, and they should be afraid — very afraid.

If Mr. Islam wanted to silence Stacy maybe he should have just gotten a job at Twitter then he could have done so without worrying about the law

Now we don’t know who those others might be but anyone who has been following the Kimberlin cases on Hogewash  knows that the gears of the law grind very slowly, but they continue to move forward and I would not be surprised if some names readers of this site recognize get caught in them

Of course given that Stacy McCain supports Donald Trump and James Comey is in charge at the FBI who knows.

Closing thought, Why do I have a feeling that there is a job waiting for Mr Islam at Twitter as soon as he gets out?

Haven’t done an “Under the Fedora” piece for a while so here goes.

The Difference between a national story and a local story is illustrated in Minneapolis:

A woman was sexually assaulted by a group of four men and a teenager while walking along a south Minneapolis street Saturday evening, according to a safety advisory issued by Minneapolis police.

The victim was walking in the Lyndale neighborhood around 9 p.m. when a car full of men called her over to their vehicle. They spoke briefly and she continued walking, police said.

A short time later, the five men returned and approached her on foot. They forced the woman to go to an area near 32nd Street and Blaisdell Avenue S., where they sexually assaulted her, police said.

Now this is definitely a local story and not a national one, why because of this sentence

Police released the following descriptions for the five, all identified as Somalis, with dark complexions.

Yup nothing to see here USA move along.

Over at Stacy McCain’s site there is a story about another alleged rape:

Nor are people thinking about what they are doing in the real world in an age where everybody’s cellphone has a video camera, where anything a guy does in his dating relationships may become the subject of an online rant by an angry ex-girlfriend, where a guy meets a girl at a party and has what seems to him a consensual hookup only to discover, nearly two years later, that she’s telling the world that he’s a rapist.

Rosie’s account of that night is a classic “he-said/she-said” situation. Her story of that (allegedly) “horrific” June 2014 encounter seems entirely plausible, and Jason Lee Weight’s (alleged) behavior is indefensible. Rosie says she filed a report with police “a long time after” this encounter, but a lack of evidence made prosecution impossible.

But his main point is more cultural in terms of a warning to young men who do their thinking below the waist.

What you need me for is to explain the meaning of “crazy.” If a guy meets a girl at a party, how does he know if she’s crazy? Well, if he says “let’s go back to my place” and she says “yes,” that’s probably a sign she’s crazy. No sane girl would say yes to such an invitation. The dude might have herpes. He might be a rapist.

She barely knows this guy and she’s leaving the party with him? Crazy. Then she goes back to his place, goes to his bedroom, takes off all her clothes and thinks he’s not going to have sex with her? Crazy.

This is what I’ve explained to my sons. There is a direct correlation between (a) a woman’s willingness to engage in casual sex, and (b) a woman being crazy. As a general rule, the quicker she drops her pants, the crazier she is. Every guy is prone to believe that his own personal charm suffices to explain why this woman he just met is willing to leave the party with him for a quick hookup. “He shoots! He scores!”

Yeah, he’s a natural-born winner. The ladies can’t resist him.

That’s what he’s telling himself anyway, as he blazes past the flashing yellow lights and warning signs: “CAUTION: CRAZY WOMAN.”

The Greeks called it hubris, this arrogance that leads a man to destruction.

My father’s “if she’s good enough to sleep with, she’s good enough to marry.”

Speaking of this topic yesterday I attended one of the national rallies to defund planned parenthood  parenthood,  and for the first time in Fitchburg we had a number of counter protesters, mostly Bernie Sanders fans, who had signs calling for free condoms etc.

As a pair of them were leaving, both college age women they passed by me closes and shouted how they would be having a ton of abortions.

It occurs to me that these are the woman that the Pump and Dump crowd that Stacy McCain has referred to are counting on and in a very few years we might see one of them on feminist tumbler making the same charges that Rosie did.

As I said many years ago:

In short men.  It’s been a long fight but the sexual revolution is over…

….We WON!

While our friends on the left insist that men not have to pay a price to enjoy the favors of a woman, there are some thing that they believe deserve swift punishment:

Ciccotta first encountered trouble at Bucknell when, as president of the College Republicans, he invited Milo Yiannopoulos to speak on campus.

The visit from Yiannopoulos, whose tour of US campuses has caused easily-offended leftwing students to organize therapy sessions in his wake, led to panic from Bucknell administrators and faculty, who organized a range of bizarre restrictions on the event.

The college Republicans were prohibited from filming the talk, and students were not allowed to ask Milo any questions verbally — they had to be scribbled on the back of index cards. Yiannopoulos was also prohibited from speaking to students one-on-one after the event and was escorted out of the building by campus officials as soon as his talk concluded.

After organizing the event, Ciccotta faced a backlash from Bucknell’s faculty. After suggesting, in a private meeting, that the event with Milo had been Bucknell’s “best ever,” he was told by the college’s Student Media Advisor that his attitude would “isolate” the people who worked under him at the college’s radio station.

He was later threatened with having his position as host of a political talk show on campus taken away over an alleged “conflict of interest.”

After all there is nothing worse than being a conservative.

There are very few things less surprising than conservatives being punished on campus for being conservative, this is one of them via the lonely conservative:

Good grief, thanks to Obamacare health insurance rates have been skyrocketing for years. Instead of leveling out, it’s only going to get worse. That’s coming from the woman who helped the implement the train wreck.

ObamaCare rates will skyrocket next year, according to its former chief. Enrollment is tumbling this year. And a big insurer is quitting most exchanges. That’s what we learned in just the past few days.

Marilyn Tavenner, CEO of America’s Health Insurance Plans, revealed that she expects ObamaCare premium hikes “to be higher than we saw previous years,” including last year, which saw double-digit rate increases across the country.

and here is another via Instapundit and Weasel zippers

Gotta love leftist hypocrisy.

Via Investors:

Labor Markets: Hundreds of employees at the University of California at Berkeley are getting schooled in basic economics, as the $15 minimum wage just cost them their jobs. Too bad liberal elites “fighting for $15” don’t get it.

A week after California Gov. Jerry Brown signed the state’s $15 minimum wage boost into law, UC Berkeley Chancellor Nicholas Dirks sent a memo to employees announcing that 500 jobs were getting cut.

Glenn uses he word:  Unexpectedly here I suspect that the same could be used to suggest that most of the leaders of those pushing for a $15 an hour minimum wage have positions that will never be lost because of the wage hike.

People have accused Curt Schilling of many things but there is one change that he have convicted himself out of his own mouth affairaphobic!

Speaking to Bannon, Schilling said, “I’m not transphobic, I’m not homophobic.” He added, “As long as you’re not sleeping with my wife, I don’t care who you sleep with.”

How DARE Curt Schilling advocating restricting the sexual freedom of people to exclude the choice of having sex with his wife on the trivial grounds that he’s married to her?  But I’m not worried in a few years will have laws on the books that will protect the rights of people who wish to have sex with people outside of their marriage from financial penalties from angry spouses and anyone who things otherwise will be branded as a bigot by the media.

Finally there is an interesting debate at PJ Media concerning a parent who took her kids to Dairy Queen and then immediately threw away her kids ice cream when they failed to thank the person who gave it to them.

I think it’s the mother’s call here but I guarantee you there is a near 0% chance that they will neglect to say “Thank you” on their next ice cream run.

This was kinda fun, maybe we’ll do it again next week.

Patton: [referring to Rommel’s book, ‘Infantry Attacks’ or ‘Infanterie greift an’] Rommel… you magnificent bastard, *I read your book*!

Believe me, I saw and heard this myself:

RS McCain Massachusetts Democrats for Brown Jan 18th 2010

If you are a regular reader of The Other McCain you know that Stacy McCain has been given lately to long essays critiquing feminism and one of his primary antagonists is FemFreq namely Anita Sarkeesian who was instrumental is having hi banned from Twitter for the ultimate crime of critiquing her & quoting feminists in context.

This weekend he wrote another essay titled The Queering of Feminism and the Silencing of Heterosexual Masculinity

When I say that Feminism Is a Totalitarian Movement to Destroy Civilization as We Know It, some readers may suppose that this is merely hyperbole, just as some readers may suppose that the sources I quote are “extreme” examples of an obscure “fringe” feminism. Yet anyone who cares to investigate further will discover that, however “radical” this anti-male/anti-heterosexual ideology may have been in an earlier era, it has now become so mainstream within academic feminism that no other perspective on human sexual behavior is ever expressed by the faculty in university departments of Women’s Studies.

and he produces the actual word of the actual “giants” of feminism to back it up

It was Mary Daly who celebrated the feminist movement as “the Second Coming of female presence not only as Antichrist but also as Antichurch,” as a “rising woman-consciousness” to destroy the “Christocentric cosmos.” Mary Daly was an influential professor, so if she declared feminism to be the Antichrist, who am I to disagree?

The Radical Theology of Feminism produces such demon-possessed creatures as a mentally disabled Scorpio occultist lesbian, and the same satanic philosophy also produces despicable liars like Anita Sarkeesian.

An honest enemy is less to be feared than a false friend, which is why I can at least respect Professor Sheila Jeffreys, who has never attempted to conceal her all-encompassing hatred of men, whereas dishonest feminists like Anita Sarkeesian pretend that they are victims of harassment, misunderstood and misrepresented by “misogynists.”

These are all excellent points and advance his argument in a powerful way but the question becomes Why is he able to make such powerful and effective argument that draw the wrath and fear of Twitter Safety council and Anitia Sarkeesan.  The answer is contained the piece also explains why he is such an effective reporter (emphasis mine):

OK, do you suppose the average guy who spends a lot of time playing videogames is going to write a persuasive essay rebutting Sarkeesian? It’s absurd to expect such a thing. You don’t learn to write persuasive essays by logging endless hours playing League of Legends. Well, do we expect these gamers to do what I’ve done, spend upwards of $1,500 acquiring dozens of books of feminist theory and history, then spend hundreds of hours reading these books in order to develop an informed critical analysis of feminist ideology and rhetoric? Of course not.

There is some value to being able to react to an action or a quip, and to produce an effective one liner on twitter and in a culture that moves so quickly and has the attention span of a mayfly one might make an impression if said quip managed to go viral

But that can’t compare to actual knowledge acquired at the expense of personal wealth that has to be earned and expending time which can not be reacquired once spent.

It was he who actually traveled to Kentucky to investigage the Bill Sparkman case while the left was crying “Send the body to Glenn Beck” from afar, It was he who spent a week on the ground following both Scott Brown and Martha Coakley at a time when the rest of the nation didn’t see an upset coming.  It was he who in 2010 while the media was still in denial visited districts in New York and Pennsylvania covering future members of congress that the MSM had written off and it was he who in all of those cases was justified

That’s why he has been a target in the past for people like Rauhauser and Kimberlin and it’s also way people like the Twitter Safety council and Anitia Sarkeesan and their feminist allies are willing to continue to take the hit from his banning, because the is nothing more dangerous to the feminist meme than a person who is actually informed of it with 80K followers who might influence others.

And that’s why I spend so much time linking and quoting him and why you should spend your time reading him and listening to the five most important words in the English Language

hit the freakin tip jar!

James Hacker: Humphrey, what’s a Modernist in the Church of England?

Sir Humphrey Appleby: Ah, well, the word “Modernist” is code for non-believer.

James Hacker: You mean an atheist?

Sir Humphrey Appleby: No, Prime Minister. An atheist clergyman couldn’t continue to draw his stipend. So, when they stop believing in God, they call themselves “Modernists”.

James Hacker: How could the Church of England suggest an atheist as Bishop of Bury St Edmunds?

Sir Humphrey Appleby: Well, very easily. The Church of England is primarily a social organization, not a religious one.

Yes Prime Minister The Bishop’s Gambit 1986

Stacy McCain has struck again with a long post on the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and while Stacy is highlighting the goals of feminism here there is a point I’d like to make from his piece to wit:

To convey a general idea of what sort of ideas nowadays prevail in ELCA circles, the election of Elizabeth Eaton to the denomination’s top post prompted this enthusiastic outburst from Linda Post Bushkofsky, executive director of Women of the ELCA:

As the presiding bishop election process winnowed down nominees, three of the final four candidates were women. . . . As I’ve written before . . . it’s not just about numbers. To respond to the needs facing the church and society in the 21st century, a collaborative leadership style is needed, and studies show that women more naturally use this form of leadership.

Stacy notwithstanding the disgrace here isn’t the ELCA pushing feminism per-se the disgrace is that nowhere in this statement is the goal for a Christian church to find a candidate that will serve the word of God.

Now none of this is a surprise, we talked about the decision of the largest batch of Lutherans to allow married gay clergy as I wrote at the time:

Hey this was just what he was envisioning when he broke away from us Roman Catholics all those centuries ago starting the reformation and all that.

So now the Lutherans have endorsed specific biblical sin among clergy I say good luck to you guys.

I quoted a lot of Lutheran blogs at the time (2009 so long ago it seems) and one of them Balaam’s Ass put it well:

Unless God intervenes by His grace, these proposals will be passed.  The ELCA will then join the Episcopal Church in its further apostasy.

But who is surprised?  It’s like Jenga: you can remove one or two or even a few blocks, but eventually the weight cannot be sustained.

Six years after that statement this is the Christmas prayer you are hearing in a Lutheran Church:

Ebenezer Lutheran Church in San Francisco where, on Christmas Day 2015, Pastor Stacy Boom posted this “prayer”:

Sophia our Goddess,
As a full moon rising,
You unveil your vision of love
for the universe
and work within us
to bring about your healing purposes.

You are reading this right, this is a prayer being put out by a “Christian” Church founded by Martin Luther because we Catholics were getting the worship of God wrong.  It concludes:

Sophia our Goddess,
As a full moon rising,
You are the One Sacred Thread
and Source for All Times,
Grandmother, Mother, and Child,
Blessed She!

This is definitely not a Christian prayer. Any student of the occult would recognize the reference to “Grandmother, Mother, and Child” as an invocation of the so-called “Triple Goddess” (Maiden, Mother, Crone) of modern neo-pagan Wicca. So far gone is the ELCA in its abandonment of biblical truth that it accepts witchcraft in its “Lutheran” pulpits.

And some Catholics complain about Pope Francis?

You might be shocked by this, I’m not.  Christianity without Christ is the logical conclusion to Martin (I know better than the church) Luther’s rebellion.  It’s the whole vine branches thing that Christ talked about:

I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing  Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned.

John 15:5-6

Now don’t get me wrong the Catholic church had some folks like this but when it did God raised a simple poor Clare nun who fought the culture war in the church

and won.

Stacy talks about feminism corrupting everything it touches and sounds the call to fight.

I submit and suggest that we must fight, but let’s be clear, feminism isn’t the enemy, it’s a tool being used by the same enemy that we’ve been fighting from day one.

One final thought, the invitation that I mentioned back in 2009 still stands:

if you are a Lutheran who actually takes Christianity seriously that old Roman Catholic Church that Martin decided wasn’t good enough before is still there.

We’d be pleased to welcome you in.

We can use good soldiers in the fight to save souls.

If she’s good enough to sleep with, she’s good enough to marry.

Dominic James Ingemi 1921-1987

One of the principles of the most successful schools is that if you set high standards, students will meet them. This applies in other aspects of life

Robert Stacy McCain at The Other McCain Yesterday:

To follow up on the Tumblr feminist whose examination of OKCupid caused her to “reach the unfortunate conclusion that almost every man in this world is completely intellectually and spiritually void,” let me reiterate this: People are responsible for their relationships.

We do not live in a medieval society where the scions of dynasties are forced to marry the heiresses of other dynasties in order to advance their families’ political and economic interests. Given the wreck and ruin so many young people make of their romantic lives, perhaps a return to arranged marriages wouldn’t be such a bad idea, but as it is, everyone in America 18 or older is entirely free to choose their own partners — or get on feminist Tumblr and become a crazy cat lady.

That’s from a piece titled: You Are Your Own Problem

Contrast this with a piece titled We hired a hot teenage babysitter, and my husband slept with her that Lindsay Pullman penned at the NY Post yesterday about actress Lauren Weedman

I should have followed my instincts. Other parents warned me about Simone, but as a feminist who works with at-risk girls, I didn’t want to pass on a new babysitter just because she was overly sexual. I thought she was just a lost, damaged kid. I thought if I didn’t hire her, it would make me look like some old insecure troll. I was trying to prove to David that I was cool.

If I didn’t feel comfortable, I should have just said so, and not cared what anyone else thought.

When one worships the goddess of feminism one makes bad choices and compromises to wit:

after six years of dating, I pushed David to have a baby. I was 40, and knew that this was probably my only shot at becoming a mother.

In the 7th year of dating they had their child, in the 8th year the nanny was hired and it wasn’t until six months AFTER the nanny came into the picture that she actually married the guy.

Four years later she is divorced for the 2nd time and alone but claims to be grateful.  Mr. McCain meanwhile took a different path:

Yeah, “getting our share” — selfish hedonism — may seem harmless, and if everybody’s doing it . . . Well, it was the ’70s and I was a Democrat then.

There was, however, a nice Republican girl whose existence I never even imagined back in those days. She was not only a Republican, but a Christian from a pietistic sect that frowned on the sins of dancing, alcohol and tobacco, to say nothing of my other favorite amusements. And by the time fate or destiny or whatever resulted in our meeting one autumn evening in 1987, I had “looked around enough to know,” to quote another poet, and pretty soon I found that I had “fooled around and fell in love.”

“Just win, baby” — that’s what Al Davis told his famous Oakland Raiders, and when the coach sends you into the championship game, you’d better be ready to play for keeps. A good Christian wife? Boy, when God answers your prayers, despite every reason He might have to ignore your prayers, it’s time to buckle up your chinstrap and win.

By May 1989, I was a married man and the father of a baby daughter, and here I am nearly 27 years later, a father of six and grandfather of two.

The lesson here is large, the future Mrs. McCain demanded certain standards from a potential husband (including actually, getting married) and given the choice between losing said woman Stacy McCain choose to meet them and give up his rakish life and meet them.

Meanwhile Ms. Weedman waited over seven years before securing nuptials with husband #2 who by this time was already sleeping around.

She set low standards and he met them and alas there are many who continue to push for those lower standards:

our culture today does not teach young people what responsibility means. Between the influence of media, careless parenting, and the government-run education system, America is producing a generation of irresponsible narcissists who think they are being oppressed if anyone criticizes their selfish hedonism.

Well just dub me an oppressor because while there is no guarantee that my sons will take my advice and find the right girl or any girl, nor can they be assured that acting like a gentleman will garner them anything but derision or suspicion from the women of today I’m still giving them my father’s advice

If they’re good enough to sleep with they’re good enough to marry.

I submit and suggest if the woman of today took that same attitude concerning themselves they would be amazed at the quality of man they would attract.

Exit Question: Given the standards set by Ms Weedman, if Stacy McCain had met her first, where would he be today?

Just two days ago we posted on the appearance of the FreeStacy Movement in the pages and website of USA today (Alexa ranking is 316 worldwide and 70 in the US with 116,407 sites linking in.)

I daresay there might be a few people around the country who will be hearing about #freestacy and Robert Stacy McCain for the first time today. That’s what happens when one of the top 70 websites in the country writes about it.

So congratulations to Twitter, Anita Sarkeesian and company. Your new Trust and Safety council continues to get more and more national and even international fame.

48 hours later just a few hours before my plans to take DaWife to Maine resulted not in me outside of Knight’s quilt shop in a rocking chair reading the collected CS Lewis as my wife shopped but at a rest stop full of syringes on the ground outside of Chelmsford watching assorted tractor trailers and waiting for AAA to tow us home the CEO of Twitter was gracing the today show saying this

The key exchange being this:

Matt Lauer: Let me ask you point blank, does twitter censor the comments of its users, does it hide what it would consider inflammatory comments whether they be social or political?
Jack Dorsey: Absolutely not,

Given that the CEO has publicly said this on a national TV show I went back to tweetdeck to check on Robert Stacy McCain to see if his account has been restored.

jack is a liar

It has not been.

Now I suppose one can try and parse that statement claiming that as Robert Stacy McCain has been suspended he technically is no longer a user so a “user” is no longer being censored.

But given the evidence I’m with Spock the logical deduction is he is a liar and not just a liar but a liar willing to lie to a national audience with a straight face.

I’m surprised he’s not running for office.

Update: A question for Matt Lauer. Jack Dorsey lied to your face and to your audience on national TV. What will you do about it?

I’m back trying to get that elusive $61 a day for DaTipJar.

Please consider Subscribing. We are currently 116.3 subscribers at $10 a month to make our goal every day without further solicitation but the numbers are even more interesting:

If less than 1/3 of 1% of our February readers this month subscribed at $10 a month we’d have the 114.5 subscribers needed to our annual goal all year without solicitation.

If less than 2/3 of 1% did, I’d be completely out of debt and able to attend CPAC

If a full 1% of our February readers subscribed at $10 a month I could afford to travel across the country covering the presidential race this year in person for a full month.

Plus of course all subscribers get my weekly podcast emailed directly to you before it goes up anywhere else.
