Pat Dollard express’ outrage and some disbelief at vandalism and disrespect for religion and free speech rights by the “tolerant” left.

The College Republicans were in possession of a number of crucifixes used in a University-sanctioned Right To Life display. When the display was taken down, they were stored in the College Repulicans’ side of their shared but divided office space with the College Democrats. When the last College Republican members left the offices this last Friday, January 23, the crucifixes were safely stored on their side of the suite.

This Monday afternoon, January 27, when the first College Republicans to re-enter the offices did so, they discovered some of the horrifically desecrated crucifixes, stolen from the private property confines of their storage containers, and proudly displayed on the College Democrats’ bulletin board, and other areas, including a bowl, laid out as if they were candy for any member of the public who visited the office to take home and enjoy. One crucifix featured the College Democrats’ version of Christ: a large penis with an actual condom pulled over the top, in lieu of His crown of thorns.

Via The other McCain.

In one respect the college has to be called on this to enforce their own rules and the laws of the community. If you don’t demand your rights they will not be forthcoming.

On the other hand this has to be expected. No Christian worth his salt should be surprised at anything like this, remember these words:

“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but as it is they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me also hates my Father. John 15:18-23

A Christian in general and a Catholic in particular needs to know and expect this kind of thing. It’s part of the job description. The Church will always have enemies because it is on one of two sides and the enemy will always have servants and or dupes willing to help.

The pattern of how news is reported by our media when it comes to either Israel or the west seems to have been established. Report an atrocity, Condemn it, organize protests, demand concessions and then the actual facts come out:

There was just one problem: The story, as etched in people’s minds, was not quite accurate.

Physical evidence and interviews with several eyewitnesses, including a teacher who was in the schoolyard at the time of the shelling, make it clear: While a few people were injured from shrapnel landing inside the white-and-blue-walled UNRWA compound, no one in the compound was killed. The 43 people who died in the incident were all outside, on the street, where all three mortar shells landed.

Stories of one or more shells landing inside the schoolyard were inaccurate.

And then of course comes the yeah buts… How people still fall for it is beyond me.

The more I see the more I’ve convinced that MSNBC needs Rush Limbaugh to be the big dog in the yard.

All of MSNBC is setup as an adversarial network. Fawning over someone will not bring ratings. If Rush can be the star of the show then they have something to push back on.

Just a thought.

Morning Joe seems to be all over Rush today.

Update: That changed after the 7:00 hour the Rush word hasn’t been said.

7:27 a.m. If Russia and China is blaming the US for their financial worries does that mean it was our fault when they were doing good?

8:01 a.m. What is in this bill that would make a republican vote for it? Nothing says money party.

8:04 a.m. There is an argument that the tax cuts create deficits while money party says argues that it is more efficient than borrowing.

8:05 a.m. This is why Morning Joe is the best morning show you get a discussion. It’s the only worthwhile show on MSNBC.

8:08 a.m. They had them for dinner, he had them for drinks, he was nice to them says Andrea Mitchell yet they didn’t vote with him. How dare they not sell their principles for a few drinks.

8:11 a.m. I’d rather have Obama than Limbaugh to be afraid of.

Can someone explain to me why voting against this bill is an act of fear by republicans while democrats voting for a bill they haven’t read is not an act of fear of not doing something?

8:24 a.m. Vanden-Huval is being contested I love it.

8:25 a.m. The president is new but he is doing something? Isn’t that just the job description?

8:27 a.m. The guy who froze to death should have declared himself a bank holding company. She’s right about that.

8:29 a.m. TARP money spending was wrong, oh God she’s talking sense…until she follow up with Capitalism has failed and need replacing. When your goal is socialism or worse everything is a reason to go for it.

You might think that I’m outraged over President Obama’s letter to the president of Iran.

You would be wrong.

Do I think it will help? Likely not. Do I think the Iranians will use it as a propaganda tool? Likely they will. Do I think that Iran will use this to demand concessions from us? Sure. Do I think that they will use any contacts to stall us while they build their bomb? Without question.

Then why no outrage?

Listen if anyone at all thinks that the president was going to take strong decisive action to take out the Iranian nuclear facilities you have been smoking something, in fact his actions suggest he won’t even support democratic movements in Iran. This is not even slightly a surprise and I don’t get outraged over stuff I already know.

Bush Derangement Syndrome means that the only way we can convince our liberal friends that this stuff won’t work is to let it be tried and fail. It still won’t convince some of them, in fact some may actually want Iran to have the bomb, but it will convince some and until reasonable people on the left get a chance to try things their way they won’t consider the alternative.

And hey anything is possible, maybe it works out.

I’m counting on Israel on this one. They know what is coming down the pike and they aren’t going to consent to become a glowing spot on the Mediterranean Sea just to make the rest of the world happy.

Hey we had an election, you pays your money and you takes your chances.

…It’s going so well that rep Phil Gingrey is on Rush’s show at his request backtracking faster than Michael Phelps in a pool.

Update: Could the Obama administration have demonstrated the power and dependency of Republican congressmen on Rush’s support to keep their seats in any more effective way?

If this is the real thing then a lot of people are going to go nuts.

The press however will be delighted because there will be a large visible republican politician who they can spend all their time hating. If people fail to support Obama she can be blamed and McCain and his people can blame her for the lack of bi-partisan behavior. The rise of SarahPAC may make my prediction concerning the turning of the media impossible. Lack of transcripts or no.

It sure won’t be boring.

UPDATE: Hot Air readers like the idea.

Update II: If you don’t get the Kryten reference watch this.

Update 3:
Allahpundit confirms it.

Haven’t talked about Jay Nordlinger lately. In his Impromptus column today he as always makes great point but has two in particular that need to be quoted at once:

“Don’t listen to Rush Limbaugh,” say the Obamas and the Powells and some other people. They are giving “free advice” to the Republicans. Well, since when has the GOP listened to Rush? If it did, we would not have nominated Senator McCain last year (for all his virtues, which are considerable). Moreover, Rush did not ask for many of the policies of the Bush administration, particularly in the domestic realm.

Rush says what he regards as true, political consequences be damned. He is not a party strategist, or a party anything. He’s a man with opinions, and they are sound, and that’s why so many people are drawn to him, and them.

Keep it up, Rush—and stay “in their heads.”

The second touches on something I wrote:

The question was raised in our office late last week, “How long will the Obama administration be able to blame George Bush for every problem under the sun?” And the answer is, Indefinitely—because the media will permit it, and abet it: participate in it (given that so many in the media share the worldview and attitudes and style of the new administration).

Is that too dark and cynical a view? Well, I hope so. Maybe we should revisit this subject at regular intervals.

I think that’s a great idea, I’m going to create a Blame Bush Category to cover that from this point on.

I guess the age of bi-partianship will still hasn’t arrived:

An inaugural ball honoring U.S. military veterans ended in a kerfluffle as several veterans walked out when a musical act’s attempt at humor backfired.

During the Heroes Red, White & Blue Inaugural Ball honoring the nation’s veterans, a vocalist with George Clinton and the P. Funk All-Stars held up a white towel with large block letters saying “[Expletive] GEORGE,” perturbing many audience members who walked out after the display, interpreting it as a jab at the outgoing commander-in-chief, George W. Bush.

These vets might be wounded in body but they are not wounded in honor. Unfortunately that can’t be said for the performers.

So what was the reaction of the organizers?

A spokeswoman for the ball’s organizers said the sign was inappropriate.

Well DUH!

As I’ve said before time doesn’t change what people are. The angry left were angry before they were left and someone without class won’t get any just because their candidate wins.
