I’ve got to admit I had absolutely nothing today, until I saw this post at Instapundit after mass.

READINESS: The ENTIRE Swedish Home Guard Was Just Mobilized.

A few weeks back, the government of Sweden sent out a booklet to every household in the country urging citizens to prepare for war or other crises. A few months back, they told citizens that they should be prepared to last for at least a week without any help from the government. Last night, in the most unsettling move yet, they mobilized the entire Swedish Home Guard for an “unannounced preparedness exercise.” All 40 battalions have been activated, effective immediately.

Stephen’s point about never having to mobilize about the US is well made but a different thing came to mind when I read this.

What about “Swedish” Muslims?

Are the muslim citizens including in this call up?  Are muslim immigrants who have been granted asylum included or are they considered “no go” as well?

If they aren’t included I’d be in the official explanation as to why, and more interestingly if they OBJECT to not being included.  If they are I’d be interested in how they assimilate in the home guard situations or are they organized in segregated battalions a la the 10th Cavalry during the Indian wars and is such a move at the government’s request or theirs?

I don’t have time to research any of this right now but I think these are excellent questions and in closing here is one more question to make you go hmmm:

If muslims in Sweden are not included in this drill to what degree might this drill be not solely directed at deterring potential Russian aggression.

Today on Morning Joe all the talk was about how the disasters from the withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan were “unforeseen” by this administration .

Unforeseen my Ass.

An awful lot of us saw this coming and screamed bloody murder to no avail.

Now we see the wave of Islamists hitting europe and townhall reports in Sweden we are seeing the future.

Graffiti that read “the caliphate is here” and “convert or die” was painted on two stores owned by Assyrians earlier this week, as was the Arabic letter ‘N,’ short for Nazarene, Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reports.

Of course this is no surprise particularly if you saw this at Pam Geller’s site last year:

A police report released last month identifies 55 of these “no-go zones” in Sweden. These zones are similar to others that have popped up in Europe in recent years. They formed as large Muslim populations emigrating to politically correct and tolerant European states refuse to assimilate and set up virtual states within a state where the authorities fear to tread.

Soeren Kern of the Hudson Institute has documented the proliferation of these zones. They are de facto Muslim micro-states under Shariah law that reject Western values, society and legal systems. In these districts non-Muslims are expected to conform to the dictates of fundamentalist Islam or face violent consequences.

“A more precise name for these zones,” says Middle Eastern expert Daniel Pipes, “would be Dar al-Islam — the House of Islam or the place where Islam rules.”

and that’s just tip of the iceberg.

We will be seeing a lot more of this

MosqueBy John Ruberry

Here is a headline from earlier this month that caught my eye and it comes from, surprise, the Washington Post: At last, a Western country stands up to Saudi Arabia on human rights. Sweden’s foreign minister, Margot Wallstrom, had planned to speak at an Arab League event in Cairo and her office’s website published her speech beforehand. Wallstrom’s remarks included a call for expanding women’s rights and more democracy in the Islamic world. Even though Saudi Arabia wasn’t specifically mentioned, the Islamo-supremacist kingdom blocked Wallstrom from giving that address.

Meanwhile on the floor of the Swedish parliament, Wallstrom condemned the 1,000 lashes and ten-year prison sentence of Raif Badawi, a Saudi critic of Islam. He was received only 50 of those whippings–poor health has so far so far saved him from the other 950. The Saudis are merciful–who knew? Wallstrom calls this sentence, correctly, “medieval.”

The foreign minister, who promised a “feminist foreign policy” when she acceded to her post, has since made some make-nice comments about Islam. But that has not stopped the Saudis from recalling its ambassador from Stockholm and from pulling visas from Swedes.

Sweden has responded by cancelling a ten-year old arms agreement with the kingdom.

Not surprisingly, with the exception of the Washington Post, there has been little coverage of the Sweden-Saudi dispute by the American media, which surely causes great cognitive dissonance among the self-appointed gatekeepers of information who regularly promote feminist issues. But it seems with the Wallstrom story, moral relativism wins the day again.

I have a solution to this quandary. Stick to the facts and let the consumers of news decide what to think.

As for the Wallstrom, I have this to say: Keep up the good work.

There is a lot of talk about how things have changed for Jews in Europe and plenty of belittling of it, but for all of our friends on the left who doubt this I will refer you to this English language piece from the local Sweden.

We don’t need the whole article, about the reporter going out for the day wearing the kippah. No we’re just going to quote two sentences with my emphasis:

Sixty anti-Semitic hate crimes were registered in Malmö in 2012 – almost three times the number in previous years. None of these resulted in a conviction.

Think about it

Update: If that sentence said “anti-gay” or “anti-Muslim” how many US magazines, web sites and investigative TV shows would all over this story.
