Well there is a big development on the radio front.

This week I will NOT be on WCRN AM 830, in fact, let me officially inform you all that last Saturday’s show marks the end of DaTechGuy on DaRadio on WCRN (at least for now).

However that is due to some HUGE news.

As of this week (well officially Feb 2nd) DaTechGuy on DaRadio goes into Syndication through Cameo Productions!

Yes DaTechGuy will be on DaRadio on 3 count ’em 3 radio stations in New England at its new time Saturdays 1-3 PM EST

Tune into AM 1390 Plymouth, WBNW 1120 Concord or 970 WESO in Southbridge to find me on your dial, or simply pick up the feed from here the Money Matter Radio Network.

Three things:

1. This is a very big step, It took a lot of work to get here but it would not have been possible without a lot of people. From Stacy McCain first pushing the blog, Conservatively Speaking having me as a guest to WCRN offering the show folks have helped set the table. And of course the advertisers and you the listeners and readers brought it home. My thanks to each and every one of you.

2. The deal is not a salary deal. I’m still gotta move the time and shake DaTipJar if I’m going to have any chance to draw a pay. However I figure with the Money Matters Radio Network as the host, groups like the GOP, Americans for Prosperity, Freedom Works and others will certainly have a reason to get involved. After all the listener base for a financial network is pretty much people who can write checks with 4 figures and more. If that doesn’t draw ads from advocacy groups I can’t think of what will.

3. While the official announcement is well, now,  I’ve told people locally and in places like the GOP Chairman forum and how they reacted spoke volumes. The difference between “Hi I’m DaTechGuy a Radio talk host on W— vs “Hi I’m DaTechGuy a Syndicated Radio talk host is tremendous and as stations are added through the Cameo Media either in New England or outside that reaction will only grow.  It should increase my ability to get top line guests, it will however also bring a greater responsibility to create a better show.

The goal is what is has always been. The ability to pay the mortgage and support the family since the loss of my job and the end of unemployment benefits. Re-inventing yourself when you’re about to turn fifty isn’t easy.  It’s been a lot of work and a lot of risk to get this far. Over the next year I’ll find out if the goal is possible or if it’s all be just an impossible dream.

It won’t be boring.
