I’ve mentioned the scarlet “M” that we bloggers have to face at CPAC these days but one of the places where that doesn’t apply is at the NBC’s blogger briefings.

Because of my commitments I was only able to attend their Friday events. John Hawkins of Right Wing News played MC

and started by introducing Lauren Bouton of the Franklin Center who talked about her blogger outreach

Tabitha Hale of Rare came up next and talked about what they are doing:

But the big speech came concerning the IRS’ attacks on free speech and fighting back

and I snuck in a question (really more of a suggestion) at the end

If there is anything we have learned from recent events such as the Leland Lee non coverage is that winning the argument is about getting the story the media wants to suppress out there and groups like this will make the difference.

With this piece:

The Left understands that the low information voter is the norm, and their message is conveyed in a way that reaches the person who makes political decisions based on their friends Facebook posts. It’s subtle and many times it’s not even overtly political. The culture has embraced leftist ideology as a whole, because the Left has been able to infiltrate movies, music, social media, and television so that the majority of people don’t even know that their worldviews are being influenced.

The answer is that conservatives will continue to lose unless they understand that they need to take the fight to where people actually live.

If you don’t teach people won’t learn, in the old days the culture were the books and the stories and the church, now it’s the music, the TV and the movies.

We have to market Conservatism, not because it’s not the right way to live, but because people have to be constantly reminded of the truth.

But people attending the conference had already started to notice unusual activity by a number of people in the hotel’s lobby and began to film them, said Peter Michael Dominic Ingemi, a talk-show host.

“They started bantering back and forth,” he said. “We all had video. They were filming us and we were filming them.”

I love my full Catholic name but too bad they didn’t plug, the show, the station or the blog.

Ironically before I knew about this picture Tony Katz had already joined me today on DaTechGuy on DaRadio along with Yid with Lid, Tabitha Hale of Freedomworks and Moe Lane to talk Blogcon and the Occupods.

We’ve been informed that there may be several thousand occupods returning for noontime Denver time, unfortunately we have been informed by the hotel that although they won’t stop us from going outside to cover them, anyone who does will not be allowed back inside. Police and security will be on site and I expect the media might choose to spin our failure to go out to cover them as something other than it is. Which is why I’m mentioning it now.

Update: A question for the Denver post, if you want to sell papers who would you rather run a color photo of, Tony Katz and DaTechGuy or Tabitha Hale?

I talked to Tabitha Hale before the start of the blogcon conference today.

Right in the middle of the interview my batteries died, since as a rule I don’t edit interviews (for lefties who claim we do) I simply changed batteries and continued.

Tabitha already has experience being assaulted by Union Thugs so if anything thinks she is going to be intimidated today they are out of luck…

…also this time there are Sicilians on the premises.

Update: also we have cool t-shirts:

And the California Yankee:

Hey cool t-shirts are great but cool T-shirts AND the California Yankee? Awesome!

Matt Yglesias seems to be unclear on the concept of damage control when a colleague has said something really offensive:

Indeed, precisely the crux of our problem is that climate chaos isn’t divine retribution for pollution.

So rather than suggesting that is the divine curse of Gaia that those GOP voting areas are subject to devastation, Yglesias mere bemoans the fact that it is not…

…and although he does give space to hit my friend Tabitha Hale he still doesn’t has space for a charity link or two Here are some quick giving options in case you think differently

* Red Cross, or text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to relief efforts
* Catholic Charities
* Samaritan’s Purse
* Text “Give” to 80888 to give $10 to Salvation Army relief efforts.

Personally I’m much more offended by Yglesias’ piece than Johnson’s. There is the possibility, however slight, that Johnson’s piece was typed up in haste and posted intemperately. We’ve all hit the “post” button on occasion when we shouldn’t. There is no chance in Yglesias case. He saw Johnson’s piece, and the reaction, and then wrote what he wrote.

Whatever Soros is paying these guys it’s too much.

Update: Johnson doubles down but this time includes a donation link. I guess that’s progress.

consider me provoked:

Mike Capuano could not be reached for comment.

There was a time when even union thugs would have left a young lady alone. I’m not as young as I once was, but Tabitha if you are out filming in any area where I am nearby I humbly offer my services as an escort to help prevent this kind of thing from happening again.
