Mr. Morgan: Are you sure this work will be in competent hands?

Curly: Soitenly, we’re all incompetent!

The Three Stooges: Slippery Silks 1936

All the talk Thursday night was about the unanimous ruling of the 9th circuit concerning President Trump’s Temporary Travel ban from seven countries named by the Obama administration as potential Terror problems.

President Trump came in with a tough playing field in hand and took quick action and when the 9th circuit made its ruling the president tweeted this out:

As the media, Democrats, liberals in Hollywood  amazon and others are busy high fiving themselves they don’t seem to have realized the impossible position they’ve put themselves in and the frankly no lose position they’ve put the Trump Administration in concerning the war on  terror, at least politically.

If the administration is able to keep the country safe and prevent attacks, they will naturally get the credit for it and Trump’s tough talks only reinforces that he is taking steps, even against opposition, to do so. There is likely little the left could do about that.

However if the administration foils any Terror plot and even a single one of those plotters is a muslim immigrant who was either

Previously vetted by the previous admin
From one of the named countries in the current POTUS’ executive order
Was in contact with terrorists from one of the named countries

The administration can trot this out not only as proof the ban but can even suggest that said plot only reached whatever stage it was at BECAUSE of the lack of a ban and can point an accusing finger at the left if they do so.

That’s bad enough but if there is a successful attack of any type involving any persons with any or all of the attributes I’ve already listed the problem for the left is even worse, particularly given this news:

A staggering 77 percent of the 1,100 refugees let in since Judge James L. Robart’s Feb. 3 order have been from the seven suspect countries. Nearly a third are from Syria alone

If the travel ban had been in place or if it had run its course the left could have proclaimed it ineffective, now thanks to the court and their own high level efforts that situation is completely reversed.

This president will IMMEDIATELY point at the Democrats and the left opposition to his travel ban and extreme vetting as the cause for said successful attack (and don’t think for a moment he won’t do this, we aren’t talking George Bush, this is Donald Trump).

He will fix not only fix the blame firmly there but will be able to point to his tweet of Friday to showcase the fact that he feared this might happen. And he will invariably get that tweeted out before anyone of the left is able to mount any defense.

Furthermore given that the media’s trust ratings are further below sea level than the dead sea, attempts to counter such a move are likely to fail with all but your most partisan allies.

Congratulations Democrats, liberals, media, you have by your political efforts and your court filings successfully not only reinforced in the public’s mind Trump anti-terror efforts, guaranteeing him credit for any successful defense but you managed to at the same time transfer the political responsibility for any successful terror attack in the foreseeable future from this administration to yourselves. In fact you didn’t just transfer it, you went out and seized it.

I often say the right thing is usually the smart thing, often the wrong thing is often the dumb thing. The left’s move was not only wrong as it makes America less safe, it was VERY stupid setting yourself up as targets both actual and political.

It was something I didn’t think you would be stupid enough to do…but you were!

Closing thought. If Amazon is taking a victory lap how long do you think it will take any terror victims to use that fact to sue them for a small fortune for enabling such an attack?

Update: The Conservative Treehouse gets it:

If President Trump does nothing, the underlying challenges to the Executive Order continue forward in the courts, while he gets his SCOTUS pick -Gorsuch- on the bench. If he so chooses, the DOJ can eventually bring the case to the Supreme Court, where almost everyone admits the Ninth Circuit and Judge Robarts decision will be overturned and all of the protestation from the left will have been for naught.

In the interim of the slow case proceeding, ANY instance of violence and terrorism provides President Trump the opportunity to use his bully pulpit -and Twitter- to hang the occurrence, foreign or domestic, like a millstone around the neck of Democrats up for elected office in 2018.

There is no downside on the domestic security agenda for President Trump; however, the Democrats are fraught with fear that something might just happen. Ultimately, THIS, the politics behind the entire construct, is the reason for the ninth circuit tonight asking for an en banc hearing of their own judicial ruling.

What you haven’t heard that the 9th circuit has apparently decided to appeal the ruling of it’s own 3 judge panel to itself?

Maybe it’s just me but I’ve never heard of a judicial circuit appealing it’s own ruling to itself

In case you are wondering, while the CPAC bleg tip jar hits are claimed on my taxes they are not claimed on the annual goal because they were a special expense directly solicited for the most part from previous tip jar hitters. If you are a subscriber and wonder why do didn’t get the email, I figure you’re already paying the bills here so I figure I had no business bugging you for more. If you did get such a solicitation that’s because you were not taken off the old tipjar only list (that would be my oversight)

You know it’s a good thing that conservatives had a Dialogue with the folks at facebook or conservatives might be banned or suspended from facebook like this.

Do my eyes decieve me or is the date of that banning “after” the great facebook dialogue of 2016?

Paging Mr. Beck

I’m sure the facebook coffee klatch is shocked shocked by this development however facebook’s actions are easily explained.

You fool North Korea

They’re liberals, that’s what they do.

Update: the story has reached Heat Street and now Drudge. While it shows Facebook for the phonies they are it also shows the “dialogue” crow for the suckers they are too.

This will not end well.

Matthew 6:21

This weekend the NY Post found and wrote about Tawana Brawley and the settlement she is finally paying to Steven Pagones part of the settlement that he was awarded years ago over the accusations against him.

Last week, 10 checks totaling $3,764.61 were delivered to ex-prosecutor Steven Pagones — the first payments Brawley has made since a court determined in 1998 that she defamed him with her vicious hoax.

A Virginia court this year ordered the money garnisheed from six months of Brawley’s wages as a nurse there.

She still owes Pagones $431,000 in damages. And she remains defiantly unapologetic.

Despite the price he has paid over the year Pagones has said that all Brawley has to do is admit the truth as the grand jury saw it and those payments will disappear, but that’s not the real story here.

The story is Brawley was not the only person ordered to pay damages 15 years ago. Al Sharpton who became nationally known thanks to that case was ordered to pay $66,000 but had that money payed for him by:

…celebrity lawyer Johnnie Cochran and other benefactors.

Hold on a second!

Does anyone else not find it interesting that progressive lions decided that a celebrity like Al Sharpton was more worthy of their financial support than Ms. Brawley?

Think about it: Let’s say that you don’t believe, like me, that she was a foolish teenager whose story was used by hustlers like Al Sharpton, C. Vernon Mason and Alton Maddox et/al for their own purposes. What if you are a person believes that the New York grand jury and all those 180 witnesses was just a sham and Tawana Brawley was kidnapped and raped 33 times by a gang of white men as she claimed.

If you believe that aren’t you upset that after bravely managing to put it this trauma behind her, becoming a LPN, a worthwhile, honorable and difficult job, and supporting a daughter with it that she is still on the hook while the big names are not.

Aren’t you outraged that every week hours of her labor is going to a settlement that she will be paying for the rest of her life while Al Sharpton’s judgement was paid by high rollers and admirers like OJ Simpson?

Where are the celebrates rushing forward to allow Ms. Brawley to devote her funds to her daughter’s future? Where are the online campaigns to retire that debt? Why isn’t Sharpton himself whose promos are played daily all over a major cable network (well MSNBC) doing something about it? Why isn’t he talking to Spike Lee, to Rachel Maddow, and all their friends on MSNBC to convince them to hold a fund raiser to retire this debt?

How it this not a priority for the progressive community for the black community?

If I didn’t know better and understand the deep concern  of the progressive left and their allies in the racial justice movement for the poor, particularly single black mothers working hard to raise a daughter, I  might think that once young Ms. Brawley was no longer of use the grievance community, they decided to cut her off and let her pay for her decision to work with them for the rest of her life.

But that’s just me.

Friday I wrote this about Muslim Brotherhood spokesman Gehed El-Haddad’s attempt to dupe the western media:

So it seems Gehad El_Haddad is back to his old game tweeting out the Muslim Brotherhood line in the hope that the Western media doesn’t spot the scam.

Well I shouldn’t worry after all if a mere blogger like me can spot it, I’m sure the rest of the major western media can do the same,

well except for the NYT.

Saturday I repeated the question during my radio show while speaking to Robert Spencer and Pam Geller and Ray Hanna of Act for America: who in the media is stupid enough to fall for this guy BS?

The Hill gives the answer:

“I don’t understand what naivete can behold any person to see all the ingredients, political signs of a coup, and not see the coup,” El-Haddad said on ABC’s “This Week.”

This week.  ABC’s this week had him on camera?

Well OK the Muslim Brotherhood is news right now, so ABC asked a few questions of the guy.

It’s not like they made a video of him on the streets of Cairo pretending he is a man of the Egyptian people and not someone who’s primary purpose is to look good for the west while giving the Muslim brotherhood line while their followers repress them.

Oh come ON guys!

Well that’s the MSM at least there aren’t members of congress, particularly Republican members, willing to give the president cover in re-empowering the Muslim Brotherhood:

“Reluctantly I believe that we have to suspend aid until such time as there is a new constitution and a free and fair election,” McCain added.

SERIOUSLY?

ABC calls McCain a tough critic of Morsi but apparently he wasn’t tough enough to cut off aid when he was in charge.  Now that the Brotherhood is out he is apparently tough enough on Morsi’s foes to give president Obama and the Brotherhood cover to do the one thing that can empower islamists in tough spot.

But Maybe I’m overreacting to the Brotherhood after all doesn’t every political movement throw teenagers off buildings and beat them to death for celebrating their defeat, sanction rape and shoot Coptic priests when angry.

Or even station snipers to shoot Cairo residents.

That’s no reason to keep them out of the political process is it?

As I was walking toward the Supreme Court to cover the Obamacare protests on day 2 I noticed several people in seemingly Pro-Israeli shirts. Being a supporter of Israel I instantly asked for an interview and to my surprise found that it was J-Street

I didn’t think anything much about the encounter as more than an oddity until later in the day. The group I came down with was scheduled to meet with representative of Senator Scott Brown. I arrived early and sat down to wait reading the paper copies of Politico, the Hill & the Washington Examiner (yes I’d rather read the print version than the online ones any day).

Much to my surprise a large contingent of people from J-Street showed up. Apparently they were the Massachusetts contingent that the convention of about 35 and they had scheduled a meeting with Brown’s folks at 11 as well.

I engaged one of the young men who argued for the two state solution, saying that once the Palestinian’s had a state they would lose their fear of the Israeli’s which causes the problem I asked if the “Palestinian” state was to be Judenrein. He seemed visibly taken aback by my question asking why I used that word. I pointed out that the Arab/Islamic world was becoming effectively Judenrein pointing out the problem wasn’t Palestinian fear, it was Palestinian/Arab/Islamic hatred of Jews that is propagated in their media and culture.

He insisted that a Palestinian state would assuage this problem but I contended that until the Arab/Islamic people actually changed it would only mean one more official launching ground for new attacks on Israel.

At this point the time came for the meeting and the entire group went into the conference room, while a second Brown aide shortly afterwards spoke to us in the hallway.

There is nothing odd about Sen Brown or his staff meeting with these guys, they’re all Massachusetts men and women and they have just as proper a claim on his time as anyone else in the state.

What I do have a problem with is what their argument means.

I am not a Jew, my parents are not Jews, I am not acquainted with a single ancestor of mine who is Jewish. My only connection to anything Jewish besides my appearance is a single nephew out of 12 who married a Jewish girl. One might say I don’t have much of a dog in this fight, but I’m making it my fight because in my opinion J-Street’s proposed solutions, no matter what they actually intend, leads back to the final solution.

From the votes in Egypt to the slayings in France the issue is not the boarders of a Jewish state, it is the Existence of the Jewish state in general and Jews in particular as anything other than an underclass in Arab/Islamic lands and beyond.

I don’t know if these people are idealistic, unrealistic or playing the game of intellectuals that Victor Davis Hanson described:

For many intellectuals, the choice of lauding or disliking Israel was not just based on careerist self-interest, but also on a careful calculus that Western nations, for all their talk of free speech, were as terrified of terrorists as were the latters’ targets. Criticize or caricature radical Islam, and a terrorist was more likely to get you than your fearful Western government was to protect you. Ask Salman Rushdie or Kurt Westergaard.

Whatever their motive it doesn’t matter. In the end the Arab world and those who celebrate dead Jews will be happy to support their status as useful idiots…

…right up until the time they are no longer useful and discover to their shock that the fate reserved for those who resist or warn others such as Pam Geller, belongs to them as well.

You’re just another infidel:

ISLAMIST extremists in Gaza kidnapped a European journalist and peace activist this week and promised to kill him within 30 hours if Hamas did not release Palestinian prisoners. For the past two and a half years, he has been in Gaza with the International Solidarity Movement, monitoring human rights violations by Israel.

Israel Matzav notes how he arrived:

Israel Radio reports that Arrigoni – who is pro-‘Palestinian’ – entered Gaza with the first blockade-running flotilla and has lived in Gaza ever since. Useful idiot.

Well apparently he wasn’t a useful enough idiot because he’s now been killed

Hamas found the body of a pro-Palestinian Italian activist who was abducted and killed by al Qaeda aligned militants in the Gaza Strip, raising questions about the Islamist group’s security grip on the coastal enclave. Two men were arrested and others were being sought in the killing of Vittorio Arrigoni, 36, who was found strangled in an abandoned house, Hamas officials said.

The folks at Salem-news.com on the west coast have an… interesting take concerning this murder:

People in Gaza have a voice because of hard working dedicated peace activists like Vik Arrigoni. Beyond the overly religious fanatical Salafist radicals, the only detractors this man had were Israeli Zionists who wished for his death for years.

You will note in the video below that Ken O’Keefe, our writer and diehard activist friend in Gaza, does not believe or at least did not, that any Palestinian could be responsible for Vik’s death.

Indeed, it is hard to imagine anyone doing this to a man who was so well loved and respected. It is exceedingly clear that everything is out of sync.

The perpetrators of this crime Ken suggests, were Zionist agents of Israel. This is the obvious relentless enemy of the Palestinian people, with frequent strikes on civilian targets in Gaza from U.S. made fighter jets and drones.

I’m sure Mr. O’Keefe doesn’t. After all why would anyone ever think that any Palestinian could be responsible for senseless violence. Oh and Itamar doesn’t count, beheading infants and killing children isn’t senseless if they are Jews.

Exit Question: Given the level of denial in the statement above who is more fanatical in their beliefs? the “Salafist radicals” or the authors of this article?

Update: It’s not a laughing matter but how else can you react when you see such an article like this one at the guardian?:

Arrigoni’s brutal murder comes after the murder of a settler family and the shooting of theatre director Juliano Mer-Khamis last week. Writing as someone who has spent a great deal of time in the West Bank over the years, these events seem alien to the Palestinian culture of resistance I have come to know and respect. Such actions smack of some kind of dirty war, based on motives that have little to do with the ongoing struggle for Palestinian self-determination.

Are you kidding me?

Do you think that for one minute that MSNBC in general or Morning Joe in particular would have David Frum on if he wasn’t arguing against the Republicans and/or the Tea Parties that he would be prominently featured on Morning Joe?

Note that MSNBC is pushing his article of MARCH 21st. Gee I wonder why MSNBC wants to promote an article from 12 days ago? Could it be that the polls are so depressing for liberals that they need someone like Frum to buck them up?

The Irony of all this comes via hotair in the form of twitter from Frum on the 25th:

@jpfreire @alanarusso @mcmoynihan No, I am not going on Countdown tonight. They kindly invited me, but no. 2:08 PM Mar 25th via TweetDeck

What is the difference between now and then? The amount of invites he is getting these days I suppose.

And a link to this story when Frum takes on those conservatives who didn’t support the war:

The paleoconservatives have chosen — and the rest of us must choose too. In a time of danger, they have turned their backs on their country. Now we turn our backs on them.

Ironically one of those paleoconservatives he was talking about is sitting across the table from him this morning.

His argument seems to be that we should have worked with the democrats on this bill. Although he is correct in the sense that given the choice between having the house and/or the senate or stopping the healthcare bill I would have much rather stopped the bill, his take sounds like “This is a horrible and long term disaster for the country, and we should have helped them to it.” Good Plan!

The only effective way to stop and/or reverse this would be to first take back congress and then take back the presidency in 2012. Unless these two things take place this election cycle this will not be repealed. The odds are still bad but it should be tried.

It is the “David Frum republicans” like Bob “we can’t repeal this” Corker that are doing their darnedest to throw this possibility away.

Mr. From et/al have argued against social conservatism in the party, now he is arguing against the fight on the single biggest fiscal issue.

Maybe it’s just me, but a party that consists of only Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe and Andrew Sullivan just doesn’t sound like one that makes a majority.

Oh BTW did anyone notice that the only time Tucker “he’s not worth $800 a week” Carlson was when he broke a story hitting the GOP? It was a legit story but wishful thinking until the MSM bothers to pick up the actual pro-conservative stories there the daily caller is going to be just a larger than avg blog that preaches to the choir.

Let’s close with one more Frum quote from that article above:

America has social problems; the American family is genuinely troubled. The conservatism of the future must be a social as well as an economic conservatism. But after the heroism and patriotism of 9/11 it must also be an optimistic conservatism.

The easiest way to lose a fight is to not fight it.
