The Clinton campaign has aimed an ad right at Trump’s underbelly: assorted negative comments made by him about women. Clinton’s kicker: “is this the President we want for our daughters?”

Careful of that glass house you’re living in, Mrs. C.

This from the campaign of a woman who likes to say that women’s rights are human rights. At the same time, she promotes abortion, which effectively makes human rights conditional on whether an individual is “wanted.” My daughters know better. Does hers?

She touts the “Affordable” Care Act every chance she gets, which is not the same thing as supporting health care. Ask the women with high deductibles who are about to hear from their insurance companies how much more they have to pay for health insurance next year. I doubt that I’m the only woman who is avoiding urgent-care medical attention because it’s unaffordable. I haven’t heard Trump applaud that.

She’s determined to keep the “Affordable” Care Act’s HHS/contraceptive mandate in place. Remember that the ACA considers contraception for women to be “preventive” care, which implies that women are broken and need to be fixed. The same mandate is what’s keeping the Little Sisters of the Poor (among others) in court. Prosecuting nuns for exercising their right to choose not to subsidize employees’ contraceptive use? So much for standing by women. I don’t see Trump taking aim at nuns.

Clinton wants to eliminate the Hyde Amendment. The more public funding of abortion, the better, in Hillaryland. Don’t like that? Prepare to pay up and shut up during a Clinton Administration. Conscience rights be damned. Trump takes a different view of Hyde.

And then there’s Clinton’s recent gleeful question about Trump: “what kind of genius loses a billion dollars in a single year?” I guess that’s the shiny object that’s supposed to divert me from a more substantive question: what kind of Secretary of State “loses” tens of thousands of emails and gets away with it? Do we want our daughters governed by a politician who thinks she’s above the law and will not come clean about her actions?

As for remarks about women, it wasn’t Trump who called Gennifer Flowers “trailer trash”  or Monica Lewinsky a “narcissistic loony tune.” In this campaign, Clinton has said that women who have endured sexual assault have the right to be believed. Tell it to Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick, and Kathleen Willey.

Is this the President we want for our daughters?

It’s a fair question to ask about Trump. It’s an urgent question to ask about Clinton.

Apparently, college rape epidemic not withstanding to Democrats When it comes to the War on Women Chalk is much more dangerous that a Drunken Frat guy at a party.

What else can we conclude from this story:

Republican presidential hopeful John Kasich today told a female college student concerned about “sexual violence, harassment and rape” that she should not “go to parties where there’s a lot of alcohol.”

The first-year student asked Kasich at a town hall in Watertown, New York, what he would “do in office as president to help me feel safer and more secure regarding sexual violence, harassment, and rape?”

Kasich, the governor of Ohio, spoke about empowering victims by ensuring access to confidential reporting and rape kits. “You ought to absolutely know that if something happens to you along the lines of sexual harassment or whatever,” he said.

His suggestion to avoid drunken college parties has produced this from Democrats

Democrats pounced on Kasich’s response. “Republican presidential candidates like John Kasich and Donald Trump are insulting women everyday [sic] on the campaign trail by blaming victims of sexual and domestic violence,” a spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee, Christina Freundlich, said in a statement.

Meanwhile Chalk is still banned at DePaul and our friends on the left are down with it.

So to sum up:

For our friends on the left, writing “trump 2016” in chalk on the sidewalk creates such an unsafe environment that it must be stopped at all costs (thus making Milo’s Yiannopoulos Emory chalking a story) , BUT a presidential candidate advising a young women concerned about her safety on campus that avoiding drunken parties is a good idea is an act so outrageous that it’s worth frienzied media coveraged by ABC, the Guardian,Slate, Politico, CNN and a bunch of leftiest bloggers.

After all how can we even think about worrying about drunken parties when there are still people with chalk walking free on any campus?

If you want to know why some of us thought the culture war was worth fighting, this is it.

Closing Thought If Animal House took place in 2016 instead of 1962 right now Otter and company would be checking the facebook profiles of all the leftists outraged over Kasich to find out if any of them have daughters at or near Faber college for their party email blast…

…and Dean Wormer would plotting to confiscate their chalk.

…but if you’re going to be one of the faces of the mass rape of European women by publicly saying this:

The 26-year-old woman named Selina withheld her full name when she gave an interview to German television channel SWR Fernsehen last week. In the interview, she described her moment of terror being surrounded by dozens of men who looked at her like “free meat at the supermarket” and groped her repeatedly. She noted that her attackers spoke Arabic and did not seem to understand German. She described the group of men as “southern looking” with “darker skin.”

The end result is going to be this:

Someone posted a video containing a portion of her interview and suggesting all of the reports blaming Muslims for the Cologne sexual assaults were propaganda. Titles appear in the video which say, “Strange that Selina 1 day after this horror (3 days before this interview) on Insta still was happy.”

That’s apparently a reference to her Instagram account which the video creator found along with her Facebook page. The video not only suggests Selina is wrong about who attacked her but includes images of her full name and where she works from her Facebook page.

The video went viral and was viewed nearly a quarter of a million times. Selina eventually saw it on the Facebook page of an Islamic preacher who has been described as radical in the German media. She tells SWR Fernsehen she became frightened, wondering, “What if someone sees who believes it or has a radical background?” She began getting threatening calls at work and people were attacking her on Facebook as a racist and a right-winger.

Now in the old days attacking a rape victim in this way would have been beyond the pale but when you have a media meme to advance on both Islam and immigration all bets are off.

That’s why this story won’t get any traction either:

Police in the central Italian city of Florence have detained a man from Senegal spotted on CCTV footage with Olsen, who was found dead in her apartment last Saturday.

He was identified as Tidiane Cheik Diaw, who is in his mid-20s and arrived in Italy illegally a few months ago. He is accused of aggravated homicide, given the brutality of Olsen’s death, Florence chief prosecutor Giuseppe Creazzo told a news conference in the historic Tuscan city.

He added that DNA analysis of a condom and a cigarette butt found in Olsen’s bathroom had led to his arrest.

Alas for the late Ms Olsen and Selina if ONLY their attackers where white christian who voted conservative and were tea party members.  Their stories would lead the news.

Maybe they can talk some college frat to admit them in absentia? Then maybe at least Stacy McCain could find one feminist on Tumblr to object.

General Erich Marks:  When you create a diversion, it’s for a reason.

The Longest Day 1962

When Joe Biden made his announcement that he was not running for president the speech sounded a lot to me like one that was meant to be an announcement to run with the ending changed.

I remember someone, maybe it was Rush, suggesting the reason why Barack Obama was looking over his shoulder at that speech was to make sure he said what he was supposed to say.

Hotair tells us that the Hill reports that in an interview pushing Obama’s gun agenda Biden says this about his decision not to run:

I regret it every day,

Ed Morrissey suggests the Dems might also regret this choice:

the Democratic Party may come to regret the lack of openings to other candidates in this race, reinforced by a debate schedule that seems to aim for My Mother The Car ratings. If Hillary Clinton boots another chance for the Clinton Restoration this fall, there will be plenty of recriminations, not regret, within their party about how their establishment closed ranks and locked out any potential for a better nominee.

I think that time of regret isn’t going to wait till after an election, it’s happening now and the reason I think that, is this:

I must admit, when I clicked this morning on Vox’s ”explainer” of Juanita Broaddrick’s rape allegation against Bill Clinton, I expected a whitewash. I was wrong. Not only did Dylan Matthews do an excellent job laying out the story, he reminded me of a number of details I’d forgotten….Matthews doesn’t just analyze Broaddrick’s allegations, he also evaluates Clinton’s defenses, and finds the denials less-than-compelling.

When it comes to sites in the tank for the left in general and Democrats in particular you cna’t do much better than Vox, founded by the origional Journo-listers yet looking at the Vox piece we see that National Review is correct they are playing the story straight:

Several friends of Broaddrick’s backed up the story. Norma Rogers, who was the director of nursing at Broaddrick’s nursing home at the time, told reporters that she entered the hotel room shortly after the assault allegedly took place and “found Mrs. Broaddrick crying and in ‘a state of shock.’ Her upper lip was puffed out and blue, and appeared to have been hit.” Kelsey elaborated to the New York Times, “She told me he forced himself on her, forced her to have intercourse.”

In the Dateline show, Broaddrick’s friends Louise Ma, Susan Lewis, and Jean Darden (Norma Rogers’s sister) all told NBC News that Broaddrick told them Bill Clinton raped her at the time. David Broaddrick — with whom Broaddrick was having an affair at the time; they both eventually left their spouses to marry each other — also told NBC that Broaddrick’s top lip was black after the alleged incident, and that she told him “that she had been raped by Bill Clinton.”

Vox even noted NBC delayed broadcasting their report on these accusations until after the Senate voted on the impeachment of Bill Clinton even though the interview took place more than a full three weeks before the vote

And this tidbit is something I had either not heard or completely forgot:

“It happened at a political rally, in Van Buren, Arkansas in the spring of 1978, at the home of local dentist,” Broaddrick

“She [Hillary Clinton] came directly to me as soon as she hit the door. I had been there only a few minutes, I only wanted to make an appearance and leave. She caught me and took my hand and said ‘I am so happy to meet you. I want you to know that we appreciate everything you do for Bill.'”

Broaddrick was stunned by Hillary’s comments.

Only weeks had passed, Broaddrick claims, since she had been raped in a Little Rock hotel room by then attorney general
Bill Clinton.

“Here her husband had just done this to me, and she was coming up to thank me? It was scary…

“I started to turn away and she held onto my hand and reiterated her phrase — looking less friendly and repeated her statement—-‘Everything you do for Bill’. I said nothing. She wasn’t letting me get away until she made her point. Shetalked low, the smile faded on the second thank you. I just released her hand from mine and left the gathering.”

Now what does this Vox piece mean?

It means that despite MSNBC editing out questions on the story asked to President Clinton and the MSM going all in on the Cruz Birther business stuff the story has penetrated enough that the voters too young to have heard about Bill Clinton’s violence toward women and Hillary’s and the MSM efforts to cover them up for political gain.  It means they have decided they want to know more and have started looking on twitter and the web.  It means the left has decided  they don’t dare let the only source of this material be people like, well me.

Thus they can present the case and the evidence and say

No one besides Bill Clinton and Juanita Broaddrick knows the true story here — and ultimately, the matter comes down to which of their two accounts one believes. There is certainly not enough here to convict Clinton in a court of law, even if there weren’t a statute of limitations. There’s no physical evidence. There’s just the word of Broaddrick and her friends against Clinton’s. To that end, I reached out both to the Hillary Clinton campaign and Bill Clinton’s personal representatives; the former did not reply, while the latter declined to comment.

The “not enough to convict” but the unwillingness of the Clintons to comment doesn’t help a lot, there is also this:

As Goldberg notes, some of the conservatives resurfacing the Broaddrick case are clearly doing so in bad faith to attack the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, who certainly did not personally assault Broaddrick (Broaddrick’s allegations of intimidation aside). But the Clinton critics have a point. There is a crucial tension between “believe survivors” and the “Juanita Broaddrick is lying” position of some Clinton defenders, lacking further information.

One answer might be giving up the former position. Many, including Harvard Law’s Jeannie Suk, have argued that defaulting to believing every accusation of rape “harms the overall credibility of sexual assault claims,” given that false claims do happen, albeit quite rarely.

This allows another talking point, attacking not the charges but the people who have brought them up but the fact that a mouth organ of the left is willing to talk about “false claims of rape” is earth shattering.  There is one person to blame for this development and David French names him:

Donald Trump’s direct attack on Clinton’s history of “he said, she said, she said, she said” sexual abuse allegations has been devastating. Mainstream and liberal media outlets have been forced to run piece after piece reminding older progressives and educating younger progressives about allegations that make Clinton look like a sexual predator halfway between Eliot Spitzer and Bill Cosby. And — truth be told — only Trump could have pulled this off. He doesn’t care about the media’s attempts to hector him into silence, and their addiction to his television presence means that he has far more opportunity to explain himself in his own words than any other GOP candidate — perhaps in history.

I don’t know what the this tells you but I know what it tells me.  If the left is so frightened that it has decided to tell the Juanita Broaddrick story in a way that even the National Review describes as “fair” that means that no matter what some young women are saying in front of cameras Hillary Clinton is in real trouble and without Joe Biden able to run the alternative is Bernie Sanders.

Several months ago I predicted Hillary Clinton was finished, I presumed it was over the email evidence but the MSM once Biden was out of the picture dropped it going as I predicted all out for her regardless of the evidence.  I suspect in the atmosphere of Bill Cosby and Donald Trump’s willingness to exploit this, that is not possible when it comes to the alleged rape of Juanita Broaddrick, particularly for younger women members of the media who unlike say Andrea Mitchell are not already compromised by their decision to protect Bill Clinton at all costs two decades ago.  So today I repeat my prediction.

Hillary Clinton is dead candidate walking, she just doesn’t know it yet.

Jefferson Smith: I guess this is just another lost cause Mr. Paine. All you people don’t know about lost causes. Mr. Paine does. He said once they were the only causes worth fighting for and he fought for them once. For the only reason any man ever fights for them. Because of just one plain simple rule. Love thy neighbor. And in this world today of great hatred a man who knows that rule has a great trust. You know that rule Mr. Paine and I loved you for it just as my father did. And you know that you fight harder for the lost causes than for any others. Yes you’d even die for them. Like a man we both knew

Mr Smith Goes to Washington 1939

Back in 2014 Milo Yiannopoulos wrote about the Rotherham scandal talking about things that were going on that people didn’t want to speak about:

And now we have our own gang rape scandal, with chillingly similar dynamics at play. This time it’s Pakistanis, and a staggering 1,400 victims across sixteen years in the town of Rotherham. In 2012, the Times uncovered documents showing agencies were aware of extensive and co-ordinated abuse of white girls by Asian men in Rotherham for which no one had been prosecuted. Once again, a single ethnicity, targeting another. But only a racist would believe this is a “Pakistani” problem. It isn’t. It’s a cultural phenomenon unique to Muslim communities, as suggested by the prevalence of father-son combinations in so many of the gangs, wherever in the world they appear. And here’s another clue it’s not just about brown-on-white crime: Britain’s Sikh community has been complaining for years that its young girls are being targeted by Muslim rapists.

The point being that if you have a group that doesn’t assimilate accepting western culture, this kind of stuff starts happening.

Then last year the targets were, gays

Ahmad Suliman says that if he had come out openly about his sexual orientation in his native Syria, he would have been beheaded. Homosexuals are publicly executed in Syria and in Iraq. It was that reason, as much as the civil war tearing apart the country, that ultimately led the 20-year-old Muslim to flee his homeland. But when he arrived in Dresden, Germany, he was greeted by the unhappy reality that the city is home to the rising xenophobic group Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the Occident (Pegida).

Still, the direct attacks against Suliman and his friends did not come from Pegida, but from other refugees. Suliman, Rami Ktifan and Yousif Al-Doori told DPA that they have been abused and tormented for being gay by other refugees from the Middle East. “At first we tried to hide it, but at some point we simply wanted to live free, in Europe,” says Al-Doori.

But this didn’t stop Merkel from insisting Germany still had to take refugees in

Germany’s Merkel insists that Europeans have to take in Muslim migrants playing refugee for the sake of European values.

While this might be a shock to some in the US to gay Muslims who thought the west would protect them it was a bigger one:

I thought, I am in Europe now. In Germany, I should not have to hide anymore.”

What followed over the next several weeks, though, was abuse — both verbal and physical — from other refugees, including an attempt to burn Ktifan’s feet in the middle of the night.

but his delusion was nothing compared to the delusions of European elites

“You must forget what you learned at home about what is right or wrong,” commentator Harald Martenstein recently wrote in the Berlin daily Der Tagesspiegel, addressing refugees. “You do not have to give up your culture, not that. But you must accept the equality of women. You must learn that homosexuals and Jews are just like everyone else. You must bear mocking and satire, even when it concerns your religion. . . . If you don’t accept these rules, you have no future here.”

The reality is quite the opposite, it is the Europeans who have no future, partially because of demographics but mostly because these states are unwilling to impose consequences to Muslims who don’t accept these rules while said muslims are happy to provide consequences to Europeans who dare consider enforcing them.

In fact given these numbers concerning the already existing Muslim population:

Muslim criminality across Europe is high. Consequently, the percentage of Muslims in prisonsin Europe is high. In France, which has the largest Muslim population in Europe, the prison population is 70% Muslim. Many European prisons have become recruitment centers for future jihadis.

Muslim riots may occur for any reason : police upholding the law, a Soccer League celebrationor in support of a cause.

Welfare states have created a government-dependent class in Europe of many people who live permanently on social benefits. These people are often Muslim. Much of the time, they are not assimilated – and often show signs of not wanting to assimilate. Many reside in virtually autonomous, so-called no-go zones (e.g. France, the UK, and Germany).

Culling migration will not be enough, as Front Page Mag put it bluntly

You can have gay rights or Muslims, but not both. Not for very long.

And now we’ve reach the point where it’s not a tiny but relatively well the minority of the population but the women of Germany, the majority that have now been taught the collarity to the message above:

You can have unassimilated Muslims or you can walk the street of your city in safety, you can’t have both.

And if you object they’ll cite their friend Mrs. Merkel and the state will attack you.

But at least you’ve gotten rid of that icky Christianity and it’s rules eh?

Milo was right, he saw Cologne coming long before it happened as did folks like Pam Geller, Gert Wilders and Robert Spencer.  The difference between them and the authorities in Europe is that while I suspect Milo et/all would have given anything to have been wrong, the authorities in Europe will DO anything to preserve the pretence that he is.

That’s how a society dies.

Closing thought: Some might wonder why Milo Yiannopoulos for all his professed promiscuity can’t bring himself to leave the Catholic faith. I’ve already written that his love of truth is quietly calling him and while it might take years or even decades eventually will bear fruit.

But I also suspect it’s because he also knows and understands that without the Christian culture that first advanced the radical idea in the west of respect for the individual based on all souls being loved by God and redeemed by Christ, the equality of women, gay rights not to mention freedom of speech will be just another lost cause.

You might recall that the origin of the slutwalks, that is western women marching in states of undress, was when a Canadian policeman’s remark about women avoiding “dressing like sluts“.

There was outrage, there were apologies and in the end there were a bunch of women who decided to march wearing very little under the argument that “blaming victims of sexual assault is not OK” and any suggestion otherwise such as suggesting the sentences:

The responsibility for a sexual assault belongs to the person who commits it.

It’s a good idea to avoid being drunk at a frat party if one wants to avoid sexual assault

are not mutually exclusive might get a reporter ejected from such an event if you are covering it.

Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos was ejected from the Amber Rose Slut Walk in Los Angeles [Saturday] afternoon. Slut Walkers could be heard yelling to police officers, “Thanks for taking out the trash!”?

Given this history one would expect that these remarks by the female (sorry CNN) Mayor of Cologne Germany,

Would produce slutwalks en masse in Germany.  After all if the suggestion that not getting drunk at a parties (advice that is extremely sensible) is offensive & sexist, then this:

The suggested code of conduct includes maintaining an arm’s length distance from strangers, to stick within your own group, to ask bystanders for help or to intervene as a witness, or to inform the police if you are the victim of such an assault.

coming out as an official suggestion from local government should of course be beyond the pale and produce slutwalks galore all over Germany.

I suspect it will not. for reasons such as this:

Witnesses and police have described men working in ‘coordinated’ groups to grope women who were unable to escape, while two women reported they were raped.
Michelle’s shocking testimony comes as the city’s own council today admitted its town centre was now a ‘no-go area’ for women, while it has emerged similar attacks occurred the same night across Hamburg and Stuttgart.

And for all their bravado when it comes to marching the leaders of the slutwalk movement know that while they are at no risk when they march in Boston, or Washington or Seattle this is not the case in Germany today which has demonstrated by their attempt to cover up these events given the choice between protecting women and children and challenging Islamist culture or letting women and children fend for themselves and backing away in fear, Germany and the west will take the latter every time.

If you think comfortable western feminists who boldly march in America are going to risk their necks when the police don’t have their backs then I have bridges in Rotherham and Birmingham to sell you.  As Stacy McCain put it:

American feminists, who have incited irrational hysteria over a non-existent “rape epidemic” on U.S. college campuses, will ignore this news. American feminists never said a word about the Rotherham Horror, in which English girls as young as 11 were pimped out by Muslim predators. American feminists don’t want to call attention to certain crimes committed by certain criminals, and it is not just Juanita Broaddrick’s rape accusation against Bill Clinton that feminists demand that we ignore.

Of course I could be wrong, this could be the event that finally causes Europe in general and Germany in particular to say “enough!” and fight back against Islamic Sharia culture whereby woman are simply objects and rules are published on when you can and can not rape your slave. In fact there has already been one march of 300 people protesting these events:

Protesters held aloft a sign reading, “Arm Cologne” as up to 500 people rallied against attacks by members of the migrant community during the city’s New Year celebrations, and the authorities’ failure to stop dozens of sexual assaults which took place.

But until either Feminists somehow obtain the courage of Pam Geller I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting to see the slutwalks marching anywhere in Deutchland.

Continue reading “We won’t see a Slutwalk in Cologne anytime soon”

Next to the googling thing this has got to hurt Hillary & Co the most:

Well, Bill Clinton has a penchant for something. He had a successful presidency — with an ugly blot. “Sexism” isn’t the precise word for his predatory behavior toward women or his inexcusable relationship with a 22-year-old intern. Yet in the larger scheme of things, Bill Clinton’s conduct toward women is far worse than any of the offensive things that Trump has said.

Trump has smeared women because of their looks. Clinton has preyed on them, and in a workplace setting where he was by far the superior. That is uncomfortable for Clinton supporters but it is unavoidably true.

You see young liberals actually read the Washington Post that creates the hole and Ed Morrissey opens the breech wider:

Trump has decided to fight fire with fire in this case, but this wasn’t the first opening. Jaws dropped earlier this month when Hillary stated that all rape accusers had a right to be believed and supported. That led to this exchange in New Hampshire, when a woman at a townhall event asked, “But would you say that about Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey, and Paula Jones? Should we believe them as well?” The three women had openly accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault (harassment in Jones’ case). “Well, I would say that everybody should be believed at first until they are disbelieved based on evidence,” Clinton replied. However, the first two cases never got adjudicated, and Bill committed perjury in the Jones case — and in all three cases, Hillary publicly scoffed at their claims from the beginning. (There is also the matter of Hillary’s handling of a case with a 12-year-old rape victim, and how she painted the adolescent girl as “emotionally unstable” and had a “tendency to seek out older men” while defending the alleged rapist.

Recall that all of this played out in public, including Democrat after Democrat saying that Bill Clinton’s actions while awful were not impeachable.  There is a large video record out there and though it dates from the early days of the net it is ready to be opened by those too young to remember or care at the time.

Not all of Samantha Guthrie’s “allegedly”s can counter this

Perhaps the Hillary campaign can put some ice on that.

A few days ago we noted that CNN tried to shut down old friend Kurt Schlichter when he brought up Bill Clinton’s sexual history. This has backfired specatcularly not only in terms of Kurt:

It was more than just a hilarious meltdown by a stalwart defender of all things liberal – and the inspiration for multiple media appearances and hordes of new Twitter followers for me. It was a warning that the Democrat-defending, palace guard mainstream media is going to fight to place many of the most devastating criticisms of Hillary out-of-bounds, and the incident offered a demonstration of how it will try to do so.

But while this is bad for the Hillary camp the worse result for them has been this tweet from Donald Trump:

The MSM has responded to the Trump tweet noting Clinton’s popularity when he left office and insisting that it will not hurt Hillary clinton. This is to be expected because the media class long ago reconciled to themselves the contradiction of Bill Clinton’s treatment toward women that would disqualify him from any job in the corporate world and their support of him and any member of said media or liberal group who failed to do so was exiled (remember Tammy Bruce).

Alas for the MSM the culture has moved from that point, and right now there is a whole generation of young people, particularly young women under the age of 30 who are the natural allies of Hillary Clinton who have never heard of Bill Clinton’s serial misogyny. The rules of “engagement” between men and woman have changed dramatically for these ladies, (if you don’t believe me read Robert Stacy McCain’s site under the Sex Trouble Tag )

In an era of “affirmative consent”, a time when college age women are being taught that their college is a place where women have to dodge rape every single day defending “you had better put some ice on that” just plain isn’t going to fly.

Already the pieces are going up as the Clinton women talk to the new media:

“I think she has always known everything about him. I think they have this evil compact between the two of them that they each know what the other does and overlook it. And go right on. And cover one for the other,” she said.

Broaddrick said she “almost died” three months ago when she first heard about Clinton’s campaign ad on supporting female victims of sexual assault.

Broaddrick responded: “Aaron, the only thing that I would like to say is I hope that someday these two people, these people that I feel like are so evil, will be brought to justice. … You know, if I can help in that, I will. But these are not good people for America,” she said of Bill and Hillary.

If Kathleen Willey, Gennifer Flowers or Juanita Broaddrick end up on a stage with Trump that will be a disaster for Hillary because the MSM will have to cover them, but even if it doesn’t happen if young women begin googling any of these name the Hillary Campaign will be in very deep trouble.

You should have gone with Biden when you had the chance MSM.

Hot Fuzz 2007

This morning I posted about the left’s quest to make sure nobody implicates Islam in terror as a function of keeping things nice and quiet, well we now have a report out of England that gives us the end result of such things:

Rotherham has become infamous for the city’s covering up of the child sex slavery rings because they were committed by those of [REDACTED] ethnicity and [REDACTED] religion.  Turns out that an even bigger city has been quashing the truth in order to protect child sex slavers for decades

The story is in the Birmingham Mail and it’s devastating:

Birmingham City Council ‘buried’ a report linking Asian private hire drivers to child sexual exploitation victims 23 YEARS ago, the Mail can reveal.
Researcher Dr Jill Jesson was asked by the authority to look at the issue of child prostitution involving girls in care back in 1990.

The following year, after six months research, she produced a critical two-part report which showed child protection failings by social workers and other agencies.

The idea of social services failing those they are meant to serve is not a huge shock and might have resulted in action but there was something else to consider

Her report also highlighted claims that some Asian private hire drivers were linked to the sexual exploitation of young white girls in care, including some who had been cautioned for prostitution offences.

It should be pointed out that in England “Asian” is routinely used to describe Pakistani immigrants which as Pakistan is in asia is not inaccurate.

So how did the city react to this report?

when Dr Jesson presented her draft findings to a steering group, she was ordered to remove all reference linking ethnicity and the private hire trade.

Incredibly, her full amended final report was never published. A meeting planned to discuss it was cancelled – and all copies were to be destroyed.

Now mind you this is only coming out 2 1/2 DECADES later and a year after the abuses of Rotherham were all over the British press

“The sad part of this story is not the suppression of evidence but that the relevant organisations have failed to address this problem.’’

that’s because of two things, 1.  The problem didn’t affect their kids & families so it was not a priority.  2.  To confront this problem meant opposing Islam and not a one of these people wished to risk doing so remember what I said this morning:

It’s one thing to critique the NRA, the Catholic Church pro-lifers, the tea party and the GOP because for all the left’s protestation to the contrary, they know that none of these groups can affect their comfortable lives, let alone harm them.

Islam is the great barrier breaker, if a person has decided to kill you and more important doesn’t care if they live through the attempt then all bets are off.

And even if there was not physical danger at the time there was political danger.  The political left in Britain had already made a policy of mass immigration to change the country’s demographics (and voting patterns)

Labour’s relaxation of controls was a deliberate plan to “open up the UK to mass migration” but that ministers were nervous and reluctant to discuss such a move publicly for fear it would alienate its “core working class vote”.

As a result, the public argument for immigration concentrated instead on the economic benefits and need for more migrants.

Critics said the revelations showed a “conspiracy” within Government to impose mass immigration for “cynical” political reasons.

Are you going to risk calls for your removal, to be deemed a racist and to bear the answer of the political left just to protect a bunch of lower class white girls that you never come in contact with anyway? Well if you’re city of Birmingham England apparently you’re not!

And don’t think that Birmingham was alone in their fear of electoral consequences:

West Midlands Police withheld a report warning that more than 100 predominantly white children – some only 13 years old – were at serious risk of child exploitation for fear it could inflame racial tension ahead of a General Election. It was finally revealed today, under the Freedom of Information Act, that Britain’s second largest police force withheld the March 2010 document – ‘Problem Profile, Operation Protection’ – which set out how grooming gangs of 75 mainly Muslim men from Birmingham targeted schools and children’s homes across the West Midlands.

Alas for these girls and all those who followed them, if it was ONLY a catholic priest or members of the UKIP or supporters of Israel that were grooming them for sex slavery, then perhaps something could have been done.

These girls simply needed more political correct oppressors.

Via RS McCain

Update: A thought, you might ask if this well eventually happen here, I think the answer is a function of how successful the left is in disarming the fathers of those potential victims.

Update 2: Funny the silence of the feminists on this issue isn’t it?

I know you can get the MSM for nothing, but that’s pretty much what most of them are worth.

Two years ago I was writing about Senator Robert Menendez and his scandals both financial:

Pols like Senator Menendez routinely seek donations of large amounts of money, A businessman funnels a large amount of money to him and rather than an accomplice as a receiver of $98,000 in illegal campaign funds this makes Senator Menendez… a victim!

True it wasn’t until there was a guilty plea in this case that the Senator decided to abdicate victim status by giving the money to charity, but sometimes it takes time for victims to come forward.

and ahem…others…

The victim status that comes from obtaining money from an illegal source also explains his silence to Kerry Picket concerning the underage Dominican Hooker Story

Two women from the Dominican Republic told The Daily Caller that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez paid them for sex earlier this year.

In interviews, the two women said they met Menendez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expensive 7,000-acre resort in the Dominican Republic. They claimed Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100.

The senator’s alleged underpayment of these young ladies apparently was an effort to limit the degree of their victimhood.

While some like Robert Stacy McCain covered the scandal in some depth, it being 2013 a year the democrats still hoped to keep the Senate Gavel in Harry Reid’s hands and Martha Raddatz being Martha Raddatz didn’t find the War on underage Women theme newsworthy enough to ask Senator Menendez about it:

I suspect this was the strategy of Senator Robert Melendez as he appeared on ABC’s THIS WEEK two days after news of the FBI investigation of a sexual scandal involving underage Dominican Hookers broke.

Alas for the Senator ABC News’ Martha  Raddatz totally foiled that strategy by cleverly choosing to refuse to ask a single question on the subject

And CNN did one better

The MSM has been dragged kicking and screaming to this story. The three networks other than the Daily Caller mentioned in this report all lean left. CNN in fact didn’t touch the story until they could spend twenty minutes attacking it. At the Washington Post the Sunday of CPAC a long story defending Menendez appeared. The very suggestion that these outlets would be part of a conspiracy to frame Menendez when they’ve done their best to ignore the guilty pleas in New Jersey concerning dirty money is so laughable it’s a wonder anyone would make them.

Some expected an apology from me after the story was “debunked” but I decided against it using basic Sicilian logic:

Which do you think is more likely?

Scenario #1

2 US left of center Spanish News networks and one flaming liberal international network along with the Daily Caller paid this man $5000 to spread false rumors about Democratic Senator Bob Menendez in order to bring him down so GOP Governor Chris Christie could appoint a replacement

Scenario #2

People with a vested interest in this story going away who are profiting from the money brought to the DR by the Senator & his connections in conjunction with the famously honest Dominican Republic police pressured persuaded this man to make these charges to discredit the story.

With the Senate Lost after 2014 Menendez’s became expendable and the corruption news (but not the sex scandal) started to break out:

But now that all the elections are over, now that the amnesty money is secure and now that the Democrat party knows that 41 united democrats can bend Republican leaders like a yoga instructor Robert Menendez becomes expendable.

It isn’t Menendez’s corruption,  nor his support of Israel, or even his outspoken condemnation of the Iran deal that doomed him.  It’s because like Vince Wilfork.  He’s suddenly no longer worth the price.

But now that he has become only the 2nd US senator to publicly come out against the Iran deal mere corruption (a thing that is almost assumed of a pol these days) simply isn’t enough so violá

Senator Robert Menendez may have had sex with underage Hooker in Dominican Republic: prosecutors

That’s the headline at the New York Daily News Tuesday.  So apparently all that debunking that was taking place by the MSM at a time when the Democrats wanted to avoid any damage prior to an election and the obamacare fights apparently wasn’t as good as they claimed.

“Some of the young women who received substantial sums of money from defendant Melgen were in the same place as defendant Menendez at the same times,” the government notes.

Prosecutors say that when the allegations about hookers surfaced, Menendez lied, making the “demonstrably false” claim that he’d only flown on Melgen’s plane three times.

There are two lessons to be taken from this story:

1.  The Mainstream media first priority is, and will always be serving the needs of the Obama administration in particular and the Democrat party in general.  No story from the Planned parenthood protests to crime involving people with the wrong perp victim racial or religious mix is going to be considered national news if it contrary to any liberal meme.

2.  ALWAYS trust content from DaTechGuy blog.

It’s that simple

One of the things we often hear from people who are apologists for Islam is that various Islamic terrorists do not represent Islam or a perversion of actual Islam.

That came to mind when I saw this story at Jihad watch concerning a Mississippi couple Muhammad Oda Dakhlalla & Amira al-Amriki, that were arrested trying to head over to the Islamic state.

His father is shocked!, shocked! that his son would want to join the Islamic State, but as Daniel Greenfield points out here, the son doesn’t seem to have had a bad relationship with the father. Neither seems to have rejected the other for being a bad Muslim. Is it really likely that the son forsook the true, peaceful Islam that he learned from his father to embrace the twisted, hijacked Islam of the Islamic State, without ever having it out with dear old dad?

This development has upset a local Mississippi paper:

The uninformed may wrongfully conclude the Islamic Center is a hotbed for radical Islamic politics and Oda Dakhlalla is the leader of a group of subversive, secretive, America-hating extremists who prey upon the large and vulnerable Muslim student population at the nearby university. That is often the narrative of those who make little distinction between those who practice a fundamentalist and violent form of Islam and the far larger Muslim population throughout the world who are no more prone to violence and anarchy than the average Southern Baptist.

There are problems with this argument:

1.  This young man didn’t learn is version of Islam from the violent fundamentalists in Syria or Iran, he learned his Islam from his father the Imam, as I tweeted the day I saw this story on Jake Tapper’s show:

So if this paper is to be believed after a lifetime of being taught true peaceful Islam by his father somehow this young guy, instantly turned to ISIS. 2.  You don’t have millions of southern Baptists supporting violent murder for example:

One in six French citizens sympathises with the Islamist militant group ISIS, also known as Islamic State, a poll released this week found.   The poll of European attitudes towards the group, carried out by ICM for Russian news agency Rossiya Segodnya, revealed that 16% of French citizens have a positive opinion of ISIS. This percentage increases among younger respondents, spiking at 27% for those aged 18-24.

Mind you that’s not 1 in 6 muslims, that’s one in six citizens However that fact is less important to the paper than the idea that the Imam’s son & his wife attempting to join ISIS terrorist who wish to kill us might cast a negative stereotype on Islam. That attitude incidentally is not restricted to obscure newspapers in Mississippi.

The story this is referring to comes from the New York Times of all places:

A total of 5,270 Yazidis were abducted last year, and at least 3,144 are still being held, according to community leaders. To handle them, the Islamic State has developed a detailed bureaucracy of sex slavery, including sales contracts notarized by the ISIS-run Islamic courts. And the practice has become an established recruiting tool to lure men from deeply conservative Muslim societies, where casual sex is taboo and dating is forbidden.

A growing body of internal policy memos and theological discussions has established guidelines for slavery, including a lengthy how-to manual issued by the Islamic State Research and Fatwa Department just last month. Repeatedly, the ISIS leadership has emphasized a narrow and selective reading of the Quran and other religious rulings to not only justify violence, but also to elevate and celebrate each sexual assault as spiritually beneficial, even virtuous.

“Every time that he came to rape me, he would pray,” said F, a 15-year-old girl who was captured on the shoulder of Mount Sinjar one year ago and was sold to an Iraqi fighter in his 20s. Like some others interviewed by The New York Times, she wanted to be identified only by her first initial because of the shame associated with rape.

“He kept telling me this is ibadah,” she said, using a term from Islamic scripture meaning worship.

Cuomo expressed his objection thus:

“This feeds the impression that these Muslims are animals, savages, and their faith makes them that way,” Cuomo said. “And it feeds an impression of what Islam is. What is your response to that?”

His guest was having none of it:

Totalitarianism means absolute domination of the self. These Islamists are dominating to extinction girls and women. It’s very calculated. Number one, it destroys the individual … An entire people is being emasculated. They’re being separated from their men. And women and girls are lost forever. Sixty percent of Yazidis are abducted and remain in disappearance.

What does it say about us as a nation and culture that the priority of protecting the reputation of Islam trumps terror and rape?  John Rhys Davis of the Indiana Jones & Lord of the Rings franchises states it bluntly

‘Basically, Christianity in the Middle East and in Africa is being wiped out – I mean not just ideologically but physically.’

He warned of how ‘people are being enslaved and killed because they are Christians’ and claimed that Adolf Hitler’s book Mein Kampf is ‘a bestseller in the Middle East’.

He told his American interviewer: ‘Your country and my country (Wales) are doing nothing about it. We have lost our moral compass completely.’

If Islam is so damn concerned about its reputation then maybe Muslims, instead of shaking their heads in English language press should be condemning this kind of stuff loudly in arabic in the media where it will make a difference.  At least that’s what people who really cared about this stuff would do.

One quick note I corrected a spelling error in one of my tweets above.

Update:  Stacy McCain

The media were willing to ignore reports that women were being sexually assaulted in Occupy encampments. However, once the anti-business protests ended and the kids returned to college, sexual assault was suddenly big news because, in that context, heterosexual males are targets and feminists are mascots.

The media narrative must always conform to the particular prejudices of the Anointed, which is why the media are always more concerned about “Islamophobia” than about, say, guys named Muhammad flying jets into skycrapers. Generally speaking, of course, the American media is hostile to religion, because in America, “religion” means Bible-thumpers who vote Republican. However, in terms of foreign policy, the Anointed always sees foreigners as mascots, and if the foreigners are Muslims, this means Muslims are automatically mascots, too. This was especially true after 9/11, because the U.S. military was fighting Muslims and the media hate the U.S. military almost as much as the media hate Bible-thumping evangelical Christians

Normally I wouldn’t put it this way but right, with a car falling apart, a floor that needs to be torn up and some big debts I’m really in a bind and I’d really appreciate it if you can give me a hand getting out of it.

Coneheads 1993

I’ve taken plenty of heat from plenty of people for suggesting the GOP has to handle Donald Trump very carefully because the last thing they need is to piss off a guy with Billion bucks and a chip on his shoulder trying to destroy you.

I’ve also taken heat for saying Trump won the debate, I believe it is an objective fact and you aren’t going to convince me otherwise.

Finally I’ve also taken heat for suggesting that Trump has treated Megyn Kelly no differently than any other person who has attacked him and that equality is different from the double standard women who cross him expect to get.  I stand behind that too (That’s actually a big pet peeve of mine).

But I’m sorry there are some thing you just don’t say and this is one of them.

I’m really at a loss for words, I understand Trump is afflicted with Biden mouth, I further understand that when he’s pissed he instinctively lashes out, but no decent person says such a thing, particularly not in pubic and certainly not on a national cable network.

I suspect due to the expectations game and the idea that this is just how he is there is an excellent chance that this will not likely to cost him much politically, in fact attacks from the MSM usually just make him stronger, but what kind of person finds this acceptable? Granted it’s not chopping up kids like Planned Parenthood but just because it doesn’t rise to the level of incredible evil doesn’t mean we should accept it.

Trump owes Ms. Kelly an apology, he needs to acknowledge that he crossed a line, I understand that said apology is likely going to be used as a club against him, but common decency demands this and at once.

If it doesn’t come pretty fast then I think Mr. Kelly’s fist has an appointment with The Donald’s nose, lawsuits be damned.

As for how other candidates should react?  I think it I’d say this:  “While Mr. Trump is to be commended for raising some critical issues, common decency demands Mr. Trump apologize to Ms. Kelly immediately.”

FYI:  When the Democrats try to pin this on the party as a whole.  the correct answer is from GOP members is.  “This has no place in the GOP, we’ll leave the mistreatment of women to Mrs. Clinton’s Husband.”

Update:  Erick Erickson proves himself a Christian Gentlemen:

I called Mr. Trump’s campaign manager and apologized and told him I felt bad for Mr. Trump because he has gotten so much sh*t from so many people and the party itself wasn’t treating the guy at the front of the pack as legitimate.

I think that is true. And I’ve been very sympathetic to Donald Trump because so many of the people who have led the party astray refuse to even treat him as a legitimate candidate.

But I also think that while Mr. Trump resonates with a lot of people with his bluntness, including me to a degree, there are just real lines of decency a person running for President should not cross.

His comment was inappropriate. It is unfortunate to have to disinvite him. But I just don’t want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal. It just was wrong.

I have invited Megyn Kelly to attend in Donald Trump’s place tomorrow night.

Via Ed Driscoll at Instapundit:

Daniel Foster of NRO quips, “Trump will get a two-point bump for his ‘blood’ remarks, because my theory is true: his base is the ‘Men’s Rights’ crowd.”

that frankly is an insult to the men’s rights crowd.

What else is a private Tropical Island for?

DaTechGuy 8/23/2009

There has been a lot of shock and surprise at a story that has talked about a Clinton confidant and sexual escapades.  The NYT has a piece on it concerning the goings on at a private island.

The motion claimed that the woman, who was not identified in court documents, had sexual relations as a minor with Prince Andrew in London, New York and on Mr. Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Mr. Epstein told the woman to give the prince “whatever he demanded” and “report back to him on the details,” the motion said.

Buckingham Palace took the unusual step of issuing a statement to rebut the accusations.

Lawyer Allen Dershowitz also named in this case isn’t taking it lying down aggressively denying the allegations

“I’m planning to file disbarment charges against the two lawyers who signed this petition without even checking the manifests of airplanes or travel itineraries, et cetera,” Dershowitz told Politico. “I’m also challenging the young woman and the lawyers to level those charges against me outside of the courtroom, so that I can sue them for defamation. … Finally, I’m challenging the woman to file criminal charges against me because the filing of false criminal charges is a crime.”

I’m sure a lot of people will watch the tabloids to keep up with a story that surely took a lot of people by surprise.

However it would not have taken them by surprise if they had read this site back on April 14th of last year when I noticed the lack of media interest in a story that had everything that normally sells:

Given that kind of stuff one might wonder why this story involving Jeffrey Epstein, who was already jailed once for sex crimes got no traction last month? It’s just the type of thing to draw eyeballs. What could possibly cause the mainstream to give this story a pass?

A new lawsuit has revealed the extent of former President Clinton’s friendship with a fundraiser who was later jailed for having sex with an underage prostitute. Bill Clinton’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, who served time in 2008 for his illegal sexual partners, included up multiple trips to the onetime billionaire’s private island in the Caribbean where underage girls were allegedly kept as sex slaves. . . .

Did someone say Bill Clinton?

Flight logs pinpoint Clinton’s trips on Epstein’s jet between the years 2002 and 2005, while he was working on his philanthropic post-presidential career and while his wife Hillary was a Senator for their adopted state of New York.  ‘I remember asking Jeffrey what’s Bill Clinton doing here kind fo thing, and he laughed it off and said well he owes me a favor,’ one unidentified woman said in the lawsuit, which was filed in Palm Beach Circuit Court.

Oh that explains why the only place I saw it was at Stacy McCain site last month.

Yes Stacy McCain was a full month ahead of me on this story:

What are the elements of a great news story? Well, President Clinton is a perjurer who lied under oath in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Billionaire investor Jeffrey Epstein is reportedly a pedophile who had sex with underage prostitutes. And a lawsuit has brought out new details of the friendship between Clinton and Epstein:

That’s from March of 2014 and Stacy had a follow-up this week:

For the typical whore, there are no private jets, no Caribbean islands, and she never turns any tricks with European royalty.

Did I mention that Jeffrey Epstein is disgusting scum? Did I mention that Epstein is an associate of known perjurer Bill Clinton?

Because maybe you forgot that Clinton, who was accused of raping Juanita Broaddrick, reportedly took “multiple trips to the onetime billionaire [Epstein]’s private island in the Caribbean where underage girls were allegedly kept as sex slaves.”

None of the underage sex slaves have said they got boned by Bill Clinton, although at least one of them says she got boned by former Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz. He denies this accusation, because no Harvard Law professor would be stupid enough to admit boning an underage sex slave on a billionaire’s private Caribbean island.

Given the need for Bill Clinton to hit the campaign trail for 2014 and the “war on women” meme this story contains, the media’s willingness to ignore this story all last year is not a surprise, now with the British Royal family named and Dershowitz fighting back in public ignoring this story is not possible.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out and it will be even more interesting to see if any “friends” of the various alternatives to Hillary on the Democrat side do anything with this.

Of course if they were reading me and Stacy last year, they’d have been primed and ready to go.

You know I wondered the same thing about a police incident in Ferguson.

Illinois BlagoBy John Ruberry

In his 35-year public career, Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has carefully developed a persona as one of the few honest politicians in a state that has seen four of its last eight elected governors serve time in federal prison.

When he faced the voters four years ago, Quinn, who twice was the running mate of jailbird Rod Blagojevich, encountered daunting odds as he sought to earn a full term as governor. He utilized that persona to deflect the Blago stench. But the Great Recession hit Illinois harder than most of the other states–as it does now, the Prairie State had billions in unpaid bills.

Quinn’s 2010 GOP opponent, downstate state senator Bill Brady, ran a weak campaign and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory–losing by 30,000 votes, even though otherwise it was a fabulous year for the Illinois Republican Party, flipping four congressional seats and snatching Barack Obama’s former Senate seat.

Gov. Pat Quinn, (D) Illinois
Gov. Pat Quinn,
(D) Illinois

But “Mr. Clean” Quinn had a couple of jokers in his 2010 deck of cards. The Chicago Democrat lied about the rate of the income tax increase he favored, and as I explained in a prior post on this blog, one month before the election, Quinn commenced the Neighborhood Recovery Initiative, an anti-violence program that turned out to be nothing more than a political slush fund to drive up the November vote for Quinn in heavily Democratic areas such Chicago and parts of its Cook County suburbs. Cook was one of four counties that Quinn won in 2010, Brady prevailed in the other 98.

The NRI is now the subject of a federal criminal investigation.

And not only did Quinn lie about the rate of the income tax jump he sought to pay off the old bills that I mentioned earlier, but he said the hike enacted would only be temporary–now the phony-reformer now wants to make that increase permanent. The Democratic supermajorities in the General Assembly, which exist only because of the grotesquely gerrymandered 2011 remap signed into law by Quinn, balked at Quinn’s expensive request this spring.

John "Lee" Ruberry
John “Lee” Ruberry

As for the 2014 race, Quinn has managed to find a couple of more joker cards. He signed into law an Election Day registration bill that applies only to the November general election. The same legislation dispenses with the need for a photo ID for early voting. Illinois has a long history of vote fraud, most of it involves Democratic politicians. And playing to the White House’s imaginary War on Women by conservatives, Quinn approved an advisory referendum asking voters if they believe employers should cover birth control in their employee health insurance plans, which is nothing more than a fawning attempt to drive liberal activists to the polls.

Yet there is one card that Quinn can’t use with voters this time around–an honest reputation.

John Ruberry regularly blogs at Marathon Pundit.

If Legal Insurrection is to be believed, and it always is, Belle Knox better get her pay in cash and start keeping it under her mattress.

At College Insurrection, we chronicle the disturbing “pornification” of our campuses. But while I despise the business model, it is still a legal business and its participants are not breaking any law. Then how is it that special rules have been put in place that deny an American in good standing the ability to do basic banking?

He links to this story about a (former) porn star that has fallen on some hard times:

New York City-based porn star Stoya, famous for being the first “alt” girl to receive a contract with a large production company, told VICE News that she opened a Chase account last year and trouble arose when she tried to deposit her paycheck.

“They came back and asked what Manwin was,” Stoya said in reference to the corporation that owns her production company, Digital Playground. “I told them it was an adult company. They told me my business account was being closed, and then wouldn’t give me a straight answer about why they were closing my account.”

The Government targeting a legal industry?  Who do they think these people are Tea Party members?

Final thought:  Since the highest paid performers in the porn business tend to be women wouldn’t this constitute a “war on women” by the Obama administration?

Doctor Who, A Christmas Carol 2010

It’s axiomatic that sex sells so when you combine the words: “Private Island”, “Lawsuit” & “Orgies” you have a story that normally is guaranteed viral:

Tales of orgies and young girls being shipped to the island, called Little St. James, have been revealed as part of an ongoing lawsuit between Epstein and his former lawyers Scott Rothstein and Bradley Edwards.

Young girls shipped to a private island for sex that’s gotta be worth headlines.

It is unclear what the basis of the suit is, but they go on to call witness testimony from some of the frequent guests at Epstein’s island to talk about the wild parties that were held there in the early 2000s.

The woman went on to say how orgies were a regular occurrence and she recalled two young girls from New York who were always seen around the five-house compound but their personal backstories were never revealed.

If there is one thing the media that loves to play the War on Women® card doesn’t want to touch it’s a story about people using their own private island to get laid that involves Bill Clinton.

What could the media do if this story involving the former father of the year? They would call it old news, not relevant, dirty tricks from a salacious lawsuit that doesn’t even involve him and an attack on Hillary that crosses the line. In fact the left will deploy a plethora of adjectives to discourage further discussion of this story from antiquated to zany, but there is one adjective that could not come out of their mouth to dismiss this story:

The last few years have proven that the left can convince a low information voter of a lot of things, but even the full power of the mainstream media and the strongest zealots from the War on Women® brigade would not be able to convince the American public that Bill Clinton would have no interest or business on a private island where orgies took place.

That’s why you didn’t see this story in the news last month and why as the case moves forward you’ll not see it covered period.

The time has come to ditch the weekly goal to focus on the monthly figure, that’s where the real action is at.

In order for this to be a viable full-time business this blog has to take in enough to make the mortgage/tax payment for the house (Currently $1210 monthly) and cover the costs of the writers writing here (another $255)

As of this writing 7 AM EST we need $1305 to meet this goal by April 30th.

That comes out 52 people kicking in $25 over the rest of the month or basically three people a day.

I think the site and the work done here is worth it, if you do too then please consider hitting DaTipJar below .

Naturally once our monthly goal is made these solicitations will disappear till the next month but once we get 61 more subscribers  at $20 a month the goal will be covered for a full year and this pitch will disappear until 2015.

Consider the lineup you get for this price, in addition to my own work seven days a week you get John Ruberry (Marathon Pundit) and Pat Austin (And so it goes in Shreveport)  on Sunday  Linda Szugyi (No one of any import) on Monday  Tim Imholt on Tuesday,  AP Dillon (Lady Liberty1885) Thursdays, Pastor George Kelly fridays,   Steve Eggleston on Saturdays with  Baldilocks (Tue & Sat)  and   Fausta  (Wed & Fri) of (Fausta Blog) twice a week.

If that’s not worth $20 a month I’d like to know what is?

This is the 11th of my series of Sarah Palin clips from CPAC 2014 & commentary upon them:

Day 1: The Crowd
Day 2: The Entrance
Day 3: Dr. Seuss
Day 4: Why Sarah Feels Good
Day 5: Playing Prevent
Day 6: Sinking Ships
Day 7: Flexibility Pens & Putin
Day 8: Anticipation
Day 9: Don’t blow it
Day 10: 2010 Again

I remember when Sarah Palin was picked to be the GOP nominee for VP the leftist web site The Reclusive Leftist was absolutely delighted at her nomination.

Violet was one of the few leftists and liberals who were absolutely appalled at the sexism at the sexism directed at Governor Palin and even after Barack Obama was safely elected she still was having none of it.

One reason I’ve written as many posts as I have about Palin is because I’m so baffled by the reaction to her..

…the first answer you’ll get if you ask feminists why they hate Sarah Palin is that “it’s because she ____” — and then fill in the blank with the lie of choice: made rape victims pay for their own kits, is against contraception or sex ed, believes in abstinence-only, thinks the dinosaurs were here 4000 years ago, doesn’t believe in global warming, doesn’t believe in evolution, is stupid and can’t read, etc., etc., etc., etc.

But none of those things is true. None of them.

Violet took the time to find out what Sarah Palin actually said and did, and while they disagree on abortion she found most of the stuff said about her were BS and made that case to other however…

But after you’ve had a few of these myth-dispelling conversations, you start to realize that it doesn’t matter. These people don’t hate Palin because of the lies; the lies exist to justify the hate. That’s why they keep reaching and reaching for something else, until they finally get to “she winked on TV!”

She should not have been surprised as the Obama types where just as hard on Feminists asking questions about irregularities in the 2008 Democrat primary.

Ironically the movie “we will not be silenced” was never made, apparently they WERE silenced.

That willingness to be played is exactly what Sarah Palin is addressing here:

As a pro-life, pro-marriage, Roman Catholic I don’t expect many feminists to take my word, but I invite women to watch that clip from Sarah Palin and consider the question she asks: which party acts as if the totality of your being is your reproductive organs?

It’s not the party of Marilinda Garica.

cpac last 051At CPAC 2014 just before the Sarah Palin keynote and the announcement of the straw poll winner there was a panel on women and the GOP.

cpac last 059

The ladies on that panel are accomplished women who discussed the women’s vote and how it has played out both tactically and practically in the last election.

Of the women on that panel only one of them holds office, Marilinda Garcia who has represented parts of the Rockingham district of New Hampshire since 2007 first the 4th and now the 8th.  She is running for congress to represent the 2nd NH district

Ms. Garcia is no stranger to panels, I first saw her at a RNC panel in Boston last summer about rising stars in the party.

At the close of the CPAC panel she talked more about her candidacy and all it means.

Her path has not been bereft of the realities of a Republican woman of any color. For Republican women a sexist attack upon them is not newsworthy nor do the rules or norms of the “war on women”  apply.

Town Hall and Twitchy both had details but for those unaware are a pair of the tweets:

followed by

Now imagine just for a moment that Marilinda is a democrat and Mr. Sullivan a republican. Would there be any other story in the media when this took pace? The outrage would extend across every channel. Media giants would decry such sexism? Ms. Garcia would be a household name pegs as a rising star in the party and the attacks on her would be decried by all right minded people.

Alas that is not to be, she is a conservative with a “R” next to her name so she is subject to the great realities of life: Any attack on her, no matter how sexist, will be unworthy of condemnation or even notice.

And while she might get some attention at GOP conferences, CPAC and places like the NRLC 2014 where she sat for an interview with me about her NH-2 run.

…outside those GOP events she won’t be introduced to the country by the MSM.  If fact she can’t be because she is the living embodiment of all that the media insists the GOP is not. She will remain invisible to the MSM until she becomes too prominent to be ignored.

And that’s when the left will try to destroy her and the media will be happy to help.

Inglorious Bastards 2009

This weekend on the Radio show during Da Magnificent Panel the question of Rand Paul bringing Bill Clinton into the whole War on Women battle the question of Bill Clinton the question was put to my liberal panelist Maxine Baptiste.

She bluntly and without equivocation described it as old news and pointed to president Clinton’s record on “woman’s issues” as more than trumping Rand Paul who voted the wrong way on such bills. I asked her directly about actions vs votes. That took 2nd place to the voting record. Here’s the clip:

On Reliable Sources Sally Kohn did the same, The Bill Clinton actions (which Sally made a point of disapproving of) did not matter and in fact made him morally superior to Republicans who might have a voting record that she does not approve of.

As I have been watching a lot of Sherlock lately I instantly thought of Sherlock & his speech concerning Billy Kincaid as transcribed at Ariane Devere’s site

John Watson: The best man.
Sherlock Holmes: The best man?
John: What do you think?
Sherlock: Billy Kincaid.
John: Sorry, what?
Sherlock: Billy Kincaid, the Camden Garrotter. Best man I ever knew. Vast contributions to charity, never disclosed. Personally managed to save three hospitals from closure and ran the best and safest children’s homes in north England. Yes, every now and again there’d be some garrottings, but stacking up the lives saved against the garrottings, on balance I’d say …
John: For my wedding! For me. I need a best man.
Sherlock: Oh, right.
John: Maybe not a garrotter.

Here’s the video (until it gets pulled)

The moral implications of women actually standing behind Bill Clinton as a “war on Women” messenger (as Bob Filner did in 1998) is as astounding as the NAACP’s standing behind Carlos Henriquez or it would be if the Democrats in their drift toward Marxism hadn’t decided the ends justify the means that every situation is the end of World War 2 and the deal is always a Damn good deal but I suspect the left are more Sherlock than Aldo. The question is have they reached the point where they can not only abide the removal of that uniform but long as they get the votes and the power from a person will put up with a few more garrottings as well?

For weeks I’ve pushed the story of Carlos Henriquez as a national story.

I pointed out his arrest in July 2012 when he was charged with kidnapping and assaulting a woman at the height of the War on Women meme in the national & Elizabeth Warren campaign…

…the national media was not interested.

I pointed out on the radio he was convicted of the Assault charge in January with the judge specifically warning him that when a woman says no it means no,

…the national media yawned.

I linked to a story pointed out that he refused to resign and continued to work out of his jail cell

…the national media was more interested in Huckabee saying “libido”

I pointed out he is son of Sandra Henriquez Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing for the Obama administration.

…the national media still considered it a local story, nothing to do with the war on women.

Now that the Mass House is finally taking steps to expel him from their body we find out via Red Mass Group the NAACP has sent a letter to the Mass House of Representatives urging them to keep him.

The NAACP, New England Area Conference (NEAC), respectfully requests that the Massachusetts House of Representatives abstain from voting in the matter of the expulsion of Representative Carlos Henriquez, expected to come before the House today. In the alternative, Members of the House are asked to vote against the expulsion of their colleague.

Seriously, the NAACP, one of the oldest civil rights organizations in the country is going to bat for Carlos Henriquez? Why on earth would they do this?

There are two basis on which NEAC makes the request. Firstly, the matter of expulsion is premature since Representative Henriquez’s case is under appeal. The House of Representatives must respect the Massachusetts judicial process and let Representative Henriquez’s case before the Appeals Court proceed, without jumping to judgment before the appellate decision is rendered.

Seriously? A conviction isn’t good enough, he has to lose the appeal as well. Cripes with a good set of lawyers to delay the process he could stay long enough to become speaker.

Secondly, while NEAC respects the jury’s decision, there is currently no rule for expulsion that applies to misdemeanor convictions. Representative Henriquez was duly elected by the electorate and there is no legal basis upon which the House of Representatives can properly act.

So there is no specific rule for expelling a member of the Massachusetts House if they assault a women who refuses them sex. That’s seriously the argument the NAACP is making?

Let’s forget for a moment how this symbolizes the fall of the NAACP as a civil rights organization that this letter illustrates and look at this simply in terms of news.

I know I’m just a blogger & radio talk show host, but it seems to me that the NAACP actively working to make sure a democrat convicted of assaulting a woman who refused him sex is something that would not only be Immediately be recognized as Newsworthy, but given the “War on Women” meme would elevate this to a national story.

It has been said that the current media are simply Democrat operatives with bylines. If they choose to ignore this story that will be confirmed without a doubt.

Oh and if you claim to be a feminist & aren’t outraged by this, then you’re lying to yourself.

By A.P. Dillon

Over the weekend, there was another round of Hilary Rosening. By that I mean the disparaging of stay at home moms. This war on women by other women started with Rosen, was picked up by Michelle Goldberg and then again by Elizabeth Wurtzel. The latest to pick up the mantle is a woman named Amy Glass.

This Amy Glass person wrote an article titled, I Look Down On Young Women With Husbands And Kids And I’m Not Sorry. I’m not linking to it.  She doesn’t deserve more than the one click she got out of me already.

You’re probably saying that couldn’t really be the title. No, really. That was the title. You didn’t even have to read it to know what this childless, Ivory tower, I’m-your-better-so- listen-to-me type was going to say.

Here’s the Cliff Notes version of what she thinks about stay at home moms (SAHMS):

  • SAHMS are average and “do nothing”.
  • It’s hiding from the fact SAHMS have “no real accomplishments”.
  • SAHMS are “conditioned” to think what they do is important when in fact, according to Glass, it’s stupid.
  • It’s not a real job. Doctors and engineers are real jobs.

Let me respond to these four points  in kind with the level of sophistication that Ms. Glass displayed: No.

Longer: The level of self-importance and lack of self-awareness in this woman’s article is staggering.  Glass sit there and plays Jenga with the roles of society, ripping out the one that brings the rest of the pieces toppling down.

On Motherhood

As someone who worked before she stayed home, let me enlighten Ms. Glass.  I’m possibly her worst nightmare since I am college educated and worked in the corporate world for over a decade before having a child. In fact, I have two now. Ya know what? I LOVE STAYING HOME WITH MY KIDS. *gasp* It’s the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. You’re a fool.

It should be noted that I still recognize to this day that there are women who chose to work outside the home instead of being stay at home – that’s fine and that is their choice. By the same token, some of them have to work outside the home, some don’t. Either way, it’s their choice. I made a choice too and that was to raise my children. Contrary to Ms. Glass’ point of view: Women do have choices.  These choices shouldn’t be disparaged, but should be celebrated. Perhaps it’s that very fact we have choices that ticks her off so bad — we’re not choosing as she has.

I thought a bit like Ms. Glass before having kids. In fact, I thought that I would return to work even while I was pregnant with my first son.  I had a career, was important and people counted on me. Although I might have had the same ideas about ambition, I would never have made such a sweeping set of insults against women the world over who have stayed home and raised their children. Yes, they are insults, Ms. Glass. Ridiculous ones at that.

Anyway, the moment I held him… all bets were off.

No meeting I could go to, no client, no presentation, no job was nearly in the same realm as the responsibility and importance of the little bundle in my arms. I would be willing to bet that even moms working outside the home still consider being a mom as their biggest and most important role.  I won’t go into the long list of things I do as a SAHM, but anyone who has done it even for a short time knows SAHMS wear more hats than we can count.  SAHM or working mom — it’s not just a job, it’s also role. Just like father, brother, sister, aunt and so on. Moms are a part of the fabric that makes up society – the very one YOU live in. Sorry Ms. Glass, but you’ve read Feminine Mystique one too many times.

Quick Sidenote: Fathers matter too, but this piece is about the moms.

You Had Mother

What Ms. Glass brushes off is that Motherhood is the cornerstone of human existence. It’s the propagation of the species and the shaping of those who will make up our society.  The doctors and engineers? They had mothers. The person who created the computer that she hammered out her self-loathing screed on? They had a mother. Stay at home mom or working mom – they had one. Even Ms. Glass had one. Imagine that.

Jacques Barzun’s  prologue in From Dawn of Decadence sums up the problem with Ms. Glass and her thinking:

“All that is meant by Decadence is “falling off”. It implies in those who live in such a time no loss of energy or talent or moral sense. On the contrary, it is a very active time, full of deep concerns, but peculiarly restless, for it sees no clear lines of advance. The loss it faces is that of Possibility. The forms of art as life seem exhausted, the stages of development have run through.”

When people take for granted the pursuits that make their existence possible and then take it one further by denigrating such people, a society has become decadent. Ms. Glass is the epitome of decadent.  I reject Ms. Glass’ moral condemnation of motherhood as she clearly seems to ignore where her own culture and society come from.

I’m raising my children and doing it by staying home with them. Suck a lemon, Ms. Glass. I reject your shallow, improvident and myopic opinion of me and women like me – both past, future and present. In closing:

  • Providing a stable, loving environment with a parent present for children to grow and learn in is not stupid, it’s imperative.
  • Raising decent human beings that will participate and further our society and species is definitely an accomplishment.
  • I’m not conditioned by society to stay at home and raise my children. If I’m conditioned, it is by the decision to have them in the first place. Unconditional love is a helluva drug.
  • It is a real job. In fact it is THE real job.

Ms. Glass will never “get” any of this. My children will and they’ll pass it on.

Yesterday Carlos Henriquez made the front page of the Boston Herald:

Inmate lawmaker Rep. Carlos Henriquez is
doing his Beacon Hill business from his Billerica jail cell, thumbing through bills and budget proposals, and speaking to staff by phone “at least once a day,”
according to the disgraced Dorchester Democrat’s legislative aide.

“We’ve been in regular contact with him, and at this point he’s concerned with the issues of the district,” aide Jessica DaSilva told the Herald.

Prison is a pretty boring place so Henriquez is lucky to have all this legislative and constituent business to keep his day full.

DaSilva said Henriquez’s office is fielding four or five constituent calls a day, mostly from people concerned about cuts to unemployment benefits. She said Henriquez also has been reviewing budget amendments, though she would not say which.

If nothing else it means the voters know where he is 24/7 and he has time to read the bills if he so chooses.

Now to me A lawmaker convicted of assaulting a women who refused him sex and had to escape his car in the wee hours of the morning is, in the era of the “war on woman” a national story, that same lawmaker refusing to resign is even more so but that lawmaker on the front page of a state newspaper doing legislative work from in prison while refusing to resign? How does that not lead?

For the same reason as this story out of Lunenburg will get very little press:

There is not enough evidence to charge the prime suspect in a racist graffiti case that rocked Lunenburg late last year, Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr. said Wednesday.

No charges?

“We have notified the Lunenburg Police Department that the evidence presented to us fails to demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime has been committed by a particular person,” wrote Early in an email his office has been sending to Lunenburg residents who have inquired about the case.

But this story was big news, it even appeared on national TV shows,

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

How can this be? The base story appeared in papers as far away as Atlanta Ga & London England, it made SI.

Yet the DA’s office has suddenly decided that the reasonable doubt standard that used to apply to juries in the case replaces the “ham sandwich” standard that normally applies to indictments.

Now it could be that the DA decided that it would be a waste of taxpayer money, and that a conviction is unlikely but given the reach of the story such a decision would naturally generate press around the world, and stories full of outrage, a DA would normally be worried about that kind of thing and be prepared to answer a lot of tough question from reporters around the world.

I suspect he is not.

You see the primary suspect in this story is no longer the largely white football team in a small town but the mother of the supposed target of the racist graffiti. It is no longer a story about racism, it is about yet another race hoax. If the team had still been the suspect and racism been the theme and the DA a republican the decision to not press charges would be a source of national outrage and coverage but remember the rule we stated yesterday.

I submit & suggest it’s because all of these stories involve Democrats and their national memes and Democrats understand that when it comes to such stories MSM immediately recognizes them as unnewsworthy.

So like the Democrat combatant in the war on women currently doing his legislative work behind bars, the race hoaxer who turned her community upside down with a phony race card and the Democrat’s DA decision not to prosecute are simply not newsworthy.

Meanwhile my question from last month still stands:

Where does the town of Lunenburg go to get their reputation back, where does the football team go to get their Thanksgiving game back and who pays for all the police, local state and federal that were used in the attempt to sell this BS?

nothing to see here, move along.

Exit question: While one can argue that the family in the small town is now marked and suffered enough what sort of incentive is created for the next race hoaxer who wants to destroy a person or a town’s reputation for personal or political reasons when they know they are unlikely to face any legal consequence?

Update: The Parents of some of the boys who were initially implicated are none too happy

“I said it before and I’ll say it again, the people that are responsible for this are cowards,” Szabady said. “You know, to do something like this and blame it on kids and just sit back and watch? You’re a coward. And the law will eventually catch up to you.”

Or perhaps not.

By an odd coincidence the AG of Massachusetts is running for governor. I wonder if such a case, if prosecuted might be problematic during the campaign? Then again maybe there is hope

The Lunenburg Police Chief tells WBZ-TV that federal charges could be filed.

Yeah I’m sure Eric Holder will get right on that one.

Meanwhile Stacy McCain has discovered another perp that doesn’t fit the media’s template.

Update 2: Glenn Reynolds linked to the Boston Herald Story above. Does that mean national republicans will finally use this as a weapon in the war on women BS? If they do and it gets repeated on any national show I predict pressure from national democrats will have Henriquez out of office so fast it will make your head swim.

Update 3: Why is Henriquez not resigning after assaulting a women who refused him sex? Maybe we should ask his mom Sandra Henriquez Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing for the Obama administration.

This is a War on Women Update!

As of Today January 28th 2014 it is day 569 since Boston Democrat Representative Carlos Henriquez was arrested & charged with Domestic Assault & Domestic Kidnapping.

As of Today it day 14 since Boston Democrat Representative was convicted of Assaulting and sentenced to six months in jail.

Carlos Henriquez remains a Democrat Representative in the Massachusetts General Court (The State Legislature)

Perhaps if Senator Rand Paul or Governor Mike Huckabee critiqued Representative Henriquez his name this Democrat combatant in the war on women might be as newsworthy to the national media as a mayor of a city in another country.

Maybe Dem Rep Carlos Henriquez is planning on using the “she kinda asked for it defense” that is apparently a feminist MSNBC & Washington Post approved defense of Bill Clinton

Amy: Yes Doctor the press, asks questions and the president answers them that’s what’s supposed to happen.

The 11th Doctor: No Amy that not what they’re supposed to be doing, it’s not remotely what they’re supposed to be doing, well I mean to say it IS what they are supposed to be doing, but it not what they are supposed to be doing.

The Doctor, Obama & the Press Corps Sept 14, 2012

This morning on Morning Joe Mika & company continue to go all in on the war on women hitting Mike Huckabee & now Rand Paul for daring to suggest that a party who celebrate a person who used his authority to get sex from a young subordinate has no business talking about a “war on women”.

Somehow despite my best efforts the case of Democrat State Rep Carlos Henriquez who stubbornly retains his seat in Massachusetts after being CONVICTED two weeks ago of assaulting a women who refused to have sex with him and being told by the judge at sentencing.

“When a woman tells you she doesn’t want to have sex, that means she does not want to have sex.”

…has not become part of the entire “War on Women” narrative.

Now some might call this a local issue but those same people who do never fail to report on the latest escapades of a certain chubby mayor in a completely different country.

So lets play a game of imagination.  Let’s take our TARDIS & fly to an alternative reality where instead of Carlos Henriquez being a Democrat Hispanic Representative from Boston  he’s a  republican state Rep from St. Louis Missouri and examine what the time line of events concerning him would have looked like:

July 2012:   Missouri State Rep Carlos Henriquez (R-St Louis)arrested in St. Louis & charged with Kidnapping & assault of a young women after she escaped his car in the wee hours of the morning.

July 2012:   The St Louis Post dispatch does a front page story on the Missouri Republican and his rise to power in a strong republican district.

July 2012: The Claire McCaskill re-election campaign denounces representative Carlos Henriquez and calls upon him to withdraw from the race and cites him as an example of the GOP war on women and calls on GOP candidate Todd Akin to demand Rep Henriquez’s immediate resignation & withdrawal.

July 2012: Around the Morning Joe table the next day Mika Cites the Henriquez case as yet another embarrassment for Rep Todd Akin campaign with women. David Axelrod brings up Henriquez in context of the GOP War on Women and calls on the Mitt Romney campaign to not only denounce him but demand that Todd Akin withdraw for not doing so.

July 2012: Later that day Mitt Romney at a stop in Florida is asked about Henriquez, he makes a statement saying that while he doesn’t want to prejudge the accused rep guilt not knowing the case, given the seriously of the charges calls on Rep Henriquez to withdraw from the race

July 2012: the MSM picks up the meme and on CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS & MSNBC shows Henriquez is made the posterboy for the entire War on Women theme and candidates nationwide including Scott Brown in Massachusetts are asked about it. Elizabeth Warren calls it the most extreme example of the GOP war on woman.

July 2012: Rachael Maddow has Sandra Fluke on her show to talk about Henriquez and how he represents all republicans. Demands the RNC not spend any money on candidates in Missouri until Rep Henriquez has resigned and withdrawn from his race.

July 2012: Jon Stewart & Steven Colbert pick up the story with the caption: Henriquez: enemy combatant, war on women

July 2012: On all the Sunday shows Henriquez is brought up, National GOP Chair Renice Priebus is asked Henriquez by David Gregory on Meet the Press.

July 2012: The National GOP & the Missouri GOP jointly endorse Rep Henriquez opponent in the state race and vow to do all they can to defeat Mr. Henriquez if he refuses to resign and withdraw.

July 2012: After a week of overwhelming national pressure Rep Carlos Henriquez resigns from the Missouri house in order to devote full time to his defense.

Aug-Nov 2012: When the subject of the “War on Women” is brought up Carlos Henriquez is cited in the list of GOP offenders.

Jan 15 2014: The day after Carlos Henriquez is sentenced to 6 months for Assault all the morning shows and evening political shows bring up the Henriquez case and ask how it will affect the midterms for the GOP.

I challenge any honest person to dispute that this is what we would have seen.

Update:  Ed Morrissey on the Rand Paul stuff:

Yes, let’s judge Hillary on her talents and vision. Let’s mull over all her accomplishments in the US Senate … and when you find some, we’ll do that. How about her tenure as Secretary of State? It started with a badly translated “reset button” that presumed all of our troubles with Russia were George Bush’s fault, and ended with four dead Americans in Benghazi after Hillary and Barack Obama turned Libya into a failed-state playground for al-Qaeda. Her final assessment of Benghazi? “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

The only real argument for Hillary as a presidential candidate is Bill Clinton nostalgia. Paul was just reminding us of why even that is hypocrisy on stilts.

Update 2:  Welcome Jawa report readers. You can see my larger post on the subject here,   Listen to my rant about it on Saturday’s radio show below here

and my interview with the Mass GOP chair talking about this on the radio show the PREVIOUS SATURDAY here:

Henriquez came up at 11:30 in the interview remember that was Jan 18th

It’s Monday we’re $12 toward our $345 weekly goal.

Normally this would be a cause for worry but as we’ve already made the monthly goal I’m a tad less tense about it.

But given that I’ve just purchased my Airfare & hotel for CPAC 2014 which will run me about $800 not counting any meals  anything that puts a dent in that is certainly welcome.

On Friday Morning Joe did three segments (in fairness one was a repeat) on Mike Huckabeee remarks concerning how Democrats look at women.

I found the segments fascinating,  concentrating on the pluses they played the full remarks in context at the beginning of both segments so regardless of whatever else I thought of what they said the viewer had the chance to hear the words as said as opposed to certain reporters who after the left pushed a lie around the world “clarified” what he had said in context

Visit for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

But from that point on the emphasis was all “Uncle sugar” & “libido”. The point he was making was in MSNBC Shtick, it wasn’t till the end where Joe Scarborough make the point that nobody is telling me Mika et/al didn’t get in the first place.

Visit for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Then in the middle segment they took the liberty of repeating that same performance with a different crew and throwing in the Governor Cuomo story that they managed to ignore until they had a person to put up at the same time.

The whole point of the segments were that the GOP is hopefully out of touch with women as opposed of course to Democrats.

That theme was continued in the Atlantic:

The creepy, condescending-uncle image, the retrograde attitude toward sex: Huckabee managed to illustrate exactly the phenomenon he was trying to decry, the perception that Republicans don’t know how to talk to or about women.

Washington Monthly:

The Mike Huckabee brouhaha yesterday offered about the 155th recent opportunity for non-conservatives to observe that the “rebranding” exercise of the Republican Party isn’t going that well.

and The American Prospect:

Ignorance: These kinds of statements tend to come from older conservative men who have no idea how ladyparts work, and really don’t want to know. That extends to contraception, which as far as they’re concerned is something that is women’s responsibility and therefore there’s no need to understand it.

and the Democrat party wasted no time creating a web video clipping the speech to make it wildly out of context:

The bottom line those nasty republicans are unenlightened when it comes to women.

Which brings us to Massachusetts State Rep Carlos Henriquez:

You haven’t heard of Representative Carlos Henriquez? Well in July of 2012 he was charged with Kidnapping and assault of a woman. In Sept the kidnapping charge was dropped but the other charges remained pending.

Strangely enough this took place at the height of the entire “War on Women Meme” was being advanced by the press however as Mr. Henriquez has a (D) next to his name the media didn’t find those charges reflective of the War on Women meme so not only did it get very little press, but even with the charges hanging over him he ran for re-election and won by 46 points! in his overwhelmingly Democrat Boston district.

The media’s disinterest continued on the subject as he served then on January 14th Henriquez was convicted of two counts of A & B on & sentenced to 2 1/2 years with 6 months to serve. The next day the Mass GOP called on the Governor to demand his resignation

“The MassGOP calls on the state’s leading Democrat, Governor Deval Patrick to immediately demand the resignation of Representative Carlos Henriquez. If the resignation is not tendered right away, there may not be adequate time for a special election and thus robbing the good people of Dorchester representation on Beacon Hill.”

Three days later I had the Chair of the Massachusetts GOP on my radio show and we marveled at the fact Mr. Henriquez was still a state rep.

MA GOP Chair Kirsten Hughes: …again absolute power corrupts absolutely and that just Henriquez is just one example of a long line of them.

DaTechGuy: and just to make sure that our listeners to make it clear he’s actually been convicted and sentenced to jail.

KH: That’s right six months yea

DT: this isn’t just a person whose been accused now he’s been convicted and sentenced, and we keep hear about the Republican “war on woman” yet we have a guy here, a state rep whose actually assaulted a woman and you have the chair of the republican party in Massachusetts who happens to be a woman calling for his resignation and the governor…

Joe Mangiacotti: won’t do. He was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail that was…

KH: Yeah

JM: … what happened there. Ahem According to police he choked and punched Catherine Gonzalez in the Summer of 2012 that was his, he took her for a ride and took her cell phone she was, drove her to Boston she was able to escape the vehicle and call the police and that’s what…

DTG: It Boggles the mind

four days later Adrian Walker at the Boston Globe, to his credit, wrote the following about Mr. Henriquez:

It’s been nearly a week now since the Dorchester lawmaker was convicted of assaulting a woman who had dared to refuse to have sex with him. She was a college student who met him working on a class project; somehow she ended up assaulted and stranded on the side of the road at 4 a.m. after jumping out of his car. Henriquez didn’t testify or make any statement after the verdict.

A judge sentenced him to six months in the Suffolk County House of Correction with the words, “When a woman tells you she doesn’t want to have sex, that means she does not want to have sex.”

If that doesn’t establish Mr. Henriquez credentials as a belligerent on in the “war on women” nothing does but in the best traditions of the Democrat Party & Bill Clinton …

Henriquez plans to appeal his conviction. That’s his right, but his pursuit of an appeal raises the terrible prospect that he plans to hang on until it’s denied or even until he gets out of jail. Either would rate a high place in the annals of political selfishness. The fate of his constituents should not be tethered to his long-shot appeal.

The House, of course, can kick him out. But the Ethics Committee process is opaque and convoluted. The committee would have to conduct its own investigation of Henriquez’s misbehavior. Sure, the trial transcript could substantially shorten that process. But the fact is, a convicted criminal shouldn’t have to be expelled.

Even though he appeared at a house hearing this week in handcuffs I have to ask Mr. Walker is this:

Why WOULD Mr. Henriquez even consider resigning?

The media in the middle of a national election with a “war on women” meme found a Democrat pol charged with assault and kidnapping not significant enough to warrant national attention. His heavenly democrat district re-elected him by 46 points. Democrats in the state didn’t find his being charged sufficient ground to call for his resignation and apparently his conviction hasn’t prompted those calls either. Update:

The conviction prompted a chorus of calls for his resignation. Governor Deval Patrick, House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo, and Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh all called for him to resign, and DeLeo said he was taking steps to expel him, if he does not step down.

And now It’s Sunday and while the national media and the professional left take glee at the remarks of Mike Huckabeee Carlos Henriquez remains a state representative because he knows that nobody in the national media will take any note…

…not as long as he has a D next to his name.

Here is my take on the subject from Yesterday’s show

Exit question. If Henriquez was a republican would there have been any other story in the news until he resigned and was denounced by every single GOP person in the universe on camera?

Bonus question:  If you argue that Henriquez is a “local story” explain the coverage of Bob Filner of California or Mayor Ford whose in a different damn country!

Update: finished the “nasty republican” sentence that was hanging

Update 2: Remember Henriquez’s arrest took place in the middle of the Brown/Warren race I wonder how many time Elizabeth Warren talked about a Republican “war on women” vs the amount of time she called on Democrat Carlos Henriquez to drop out of his race?

Update 3: Kathleen Parker says “It’s all how you say things” but what if like, in the case of Democrat Carlos Henriquez, the media won’t say anything?

Update 4: An alternative timeline plus a correction above of some post conviction calls for resignation. Funny you would thing the arrest & charges would have been enough to start the chorus.

It’s Sunday the start of a new pay week spanning the end of this month and the beginning of the next one and I start the week in an unusually enviable position.

My monthly goal has already been reached I’ve already transferred the funds to pay the Jan mortgage (which will be done later today) and have begun paying my Magnificent Seven their well deserved fees for their excellent pieces.

However complacency is not called for.  The business has been carrying some credit card debt.  A weak week will decrease it, a week as spectacular as last week’s would half it.

So I would ask you to consider hitting DaTipJar to get me a little ahead before February begins

Doctor Who Space 2011

The War on Women meme continues to be a Democrat mantra, it was used against the GOP candidate in VA to good effect for the left.  Single women who believe it gave Barack Obama the votes he needed to win in 2012.

Obamacare in addition to it’s many other benefits was supposed to be of great benefit to women.

Yet here is an ad being used to sell it:

Because nothing says “empowering women” more than a Government program aiding them in getting hookups with strange men.

But hey this is a single ad, it’s not like you have say web sites arguing, for example that the best solution for women concerning Obamacare is to find a rich guy to shack up with who can provide insurance:

Here is the press release I received in e-mail from Seeking, the world’s largest Sugar Daddy dating site with over 2 million members, witnessed an 83 percent increase in the word, “health care,” in all of its Sugar Baby profiles, since October 1.

“Younger, healthy Americans are essentially subsidizing those who need healthcare more,” comments Brandon Wade, Founder & CEO of “While ‘Obamacare’ proves beneficial to those with preexisting conditions, low-income and elderly, young adults are now required to pay for services that they rarely use. In response, we are proving that there exists other options to curb the increasing costs of health care.”

Wade asserts that arrangements through the site are usually desired for living lavishly in the form of gifts and trips, or “spoiling”, with the average monthly allowance amounting to $3,000. But, many women turn to the site in search of Sugar Daddies when government decisions negatively affect American’s financial assets. In the past month alone, there has been a noticeable increase in women explicitly stating their need for health care coverage.

“Unlike ‘Obamacare,’ offers a fully functional website and realistic solutions in the form of generous benefactors,” says Wade. “Generally, health care does not favor women financially; they are often required to pay higher fees and premiums. With our site, women can gain an advantage.”

They call themselves a site that generates “mutually beneficial arrangements”. Being an old-fashioned sort of fellow who believes in calling things what they are, I’d say it is a pimp site but be that as it may…

I would be delighted the people of  left who are attacking Ben Carson & Sarah Palin for comparing Obamacare to slavery can answer this:

If the GOP is the party launching a war against women how is that the Democrat party, the party of Anthony Weiner, the party of Bob Filner and the party of Bill Clinton has, as its signature achievement of the last 5 years, a law that is such a gift to women that professional high-priced pimp sites find it an effective tool to persuade women to sell their bodies to satisfy the sexual proclivities of the rich and powerful in order to get healthcare?  I mean Seriously?

That’s not a war against women, that’s reparations paid by women for their defeat in the sexual revolution embraced by a political party enabling the people selling them on the open market.

Some might critique my hit on the arrangement site when I sell my writing and the writing of my Magnificent Seven to the public in the hopes of earning $340 per week. To them I say this. There is not enough money in the world to purchase such services from me even in the highly unlikely event that someone was willing to pay .  Even if Linda Carter (in what would have to be an EXTREMELY drunken stupor) was the buyer.

There was a panel on Women at the RNC Boston that took place last Thursday.

The Forum was run by Sharon day the vice chair of the GOP.

She lamented the lack of attendance but in fairness this event was scheduled at the same time as a key rules meeting which likely cost her some attendees

The first speaker was Senator Anitere Flores (FL(

This is not just a formidable women but she absolutely reeks of strength and presence. She spoke about women running for office and frankly I could listen to her talk all day.

The next speaker was Myra MIller

she talks about the trends that can help the GOP in attempting to appeal to women. While her points were well made to some degree it seemed all of her examples involved Married women which the GOP is already strong with. It’s the unmarried women without the responsibility of a family or totally dependent on government that the GOP is losing.

Next was Emily Miller

I absolutely LOVED this woman! See took about the War on Women meme of the left stone by stone and piece by piece with facts and the phony Sandra Fluke business

This person should have been on every single panel and every single TV program that tried to sell the war on women BS. I’ve not heard a person address it better.

At this point came the Q & A

What to do about a women candidate who isn’t ready?

How to get women to run

I asked a question on the MSM and how they treat strong GOP women

the most dramatic moment was when a man asked where the answers were on the “war on women” during the election. Where were the women speaking out?

Later in the forum an angry answer was given by some women in the back.

They INSISTED that GOP women were very loud in answering that statement but this point went back to the question I asked. If the MSM doesn’t report on that answer, if the media doesn’t book the GOP women it doesn’t matter how many GOP women speak up it will not be heard by the low information voter who gets their news from the press.

That more than anything else is the problem to be solved, until it is conservatives fight to win the message game with women is going to fail.

San Diego Mayor Filner In Mediation With City Amid Recall Efforts

Well not so much the story as the sentence below the headline.

San Diego Mayor Filner In Mediation With City Amid Recall Efforts

Filner supporters hold rally yesterday

Supporters? Filner has supporters?

Here is the story:

His supporters, which include some labor unions and Latinos, claim Filner is being denied due process, and the recall effort is orchestrated by those who oppose his political agenda.

Morning Joe has video

Visit for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

the key quote:

I understand what’s going on in San Diego. i mean, Bob Filner is a democrat. he’s mayor of San Diego. that doesn’t happen. it hasn’t happened in a long time. i’m sure the democrats out there are distraught at the thought that the mayor may have to go away

And that’s what it all comes down to.

National party figures who have no say on if Filner stays or goes can denounce him all they want. The media can tease him and make him the butt of jokes, but as long as they have no power to remove him it doesn’t matter.

As long as Filner is on the right side of the issues and to some degree useful to the left in San Diego the hard-core foot soldiers of the left in San Diego the Unions, the Latino’s and the activists are going to back him because to them the ends always justify the means.

That might seem odd to you and me but if you start from the idea they are all Marxists it makes perfect sense.

We interrupt my coverage of the RNC in Boston to bring you this Bob Filner blast from the past Dec 18, 1998.

Dr. Benjamin Franklin: Mr. Dickinson I’m surprised at you, a rebellion is always legal in the first person, such as “our rebellion.” It is only in the third person – “their rebellion” – that it becomes illegal.

1776 (1972)

Ace links to a critical update to this story on Bob Filner:

The local Democratic Party has known for a long time about sexual harassment allegations against Bob Filner, a former Democratic assemblywoman said in a Thursday interview.

“I blew the whistle on this two years ago to the Democratic Party leadership,” former Assemblywoman Lori Saldaña said.

on what the Democrats knew when when they knew it on Bob Filner.

Update II: Busby responded to tell me that party leaders looked at Filner’s 30-year record of advocating for progressive causes when evaluating him as a candidate for mayor. Discussions involving Filner’s poor treatment of women never rose above rumor, she said.

Ace Opines further

So what’s a little War on Women between ideological friends? They say these allegations did not “rise above a rumor,” which is false– the deputy mayor of Escondido stated on the record (and went to former head of the party Jess Durfee) that Filner had rudely propositioned her at a professional political event.

The evolution argument not withstanding the question becomes: How did Bob Filner know the party would let him get away with this?

Clue one comes from Wikipedia:

Note the period in the red box. That means he was in congress during this moment:

See that line of Democrat congressmen filing out to applaud Bill Clinton can you pick out Bob Filner among them as they line up? Have you watched how the Clinton’s have been treated for the last 15 years.

The question isn’t how Bob Filner knew the party would give him a pass, the question is why would anyone expect them to do otherwise?

Update: And if Filner had any doubt of the rules, this would have finished them.

Irony overload anyone?

All that, your patient would probably classify as ‘Puritanism’—and may I remark in passing that the value we have given to that word is one of the really solid triumphs of the last hundred years?

C.S Lewis The Screwtape Letters #10

Yesterday while I was on the road to cover an event that didn’t happen (had my dates wrong) I was listening to Michael Graham on the Radio and he brought up a point that a lot of our friends on the left have forgotten, a point I’ve made over the last few weeks.

Graham noted that it was Democrats who set the standard that Weiner and Fitner are using to run for office or even remain in office. That aberrant sexual behavior was not a standard to remove a president from office.

I know many of the college women with their Sandra Flue Buttons on their lapel might not be old enough to remember so let me educate you on recent history.

It was Democrats and media who vigorously Defended Bill Clinton at every turn, who insisted the Monica stuff was “just about sex”.

It was the liberal media who held back this story and at every opportunity belittled the entire idea of this investigation. (and who ironically MADE Matt Drudge who did not.

And it was democrats who en masse not only voted against the 4 articles of impeachment Article I: Perjury before the grand jury, Article II: Perjury in the Jones case, Article III: Obstruction of justice, Article IV: Abuse of power but directly after their passage assembled on the White House lawn as Richard Gephardt, Al Gore and Clinton Himself (with Hillary beside him) made speeches attacking the House for daring to suggest that his actions made him unfit to hold the Office of president of the United States.

What you never heard of this? Well here is the video of the event.

Look at the faces in the crowd of that video you will see my new senator Ed Markey, you will see Sheila Jackson Lee and plenty of other faces still in congress. Look at the liberal lions and particularly the ladies who today bemoan a GOP “war on women”. Look at them all filing out to defend a man who used the power of the presidency to score with a young intern and ask yourself this question:

If the standard of Oral Sex with an intern in the White House is not disqualifying for a president how much less is the standard of “Sexting” for mayor of NY” or “Groping for Mayor of San Diego”?

And it is even worse when you consider this. Have you heard the name Bob Livingston? He was going to be the speaker of the GOP house, but just before the impeachment vote word came that he had an affair. So what did he do with the impeachment vote about to take place. He gave this speech:

and resigned.

Note the same Democrats who shouted “You Resign” at him still backed and voted to save Bill Clinton…

…but what if they did not?

Imagine if Bill Clinton had resigned, imagine if the Democrats in the house decided not to back him, Imagine if that crowd of lawmakers didn’t stand behind the as they made speeches of defiance. Imagine of the media had embraced the actions of Bob Livingstone. Imagine if the standard for the consequences of such behavior by pols was the Livingstone Standard rather than the Bill Clinton (or the Nina Burleigh) standard?

Not only would there not be an Anthony Weiner or a Bob Filner, there likely would not be an Elliot Spitzer or a David Vitter or a Mark Sanford either because when they considered their situation they would remember Bob Livingstone resigning his office rather than Bill Clinton successfully retaining his.

This is the Donkey in the living room that everyone in the media and on the left likes to pretend isn’t there. The standard they want you to forget, particularly in 2016 with Hillary on the Ballot, they set for every narcissistic ambitious pol who will come down the line and decide they can ride this kind of thing out, because if Bill Clinton can get away with it, why can’t they?

There is a war on women and the democrats gave victory to the Anthony Weiners and Bob Filners in that war many years ago.

Final thought:

Inquiring minds want to know.

Update: That’s Bob Filner not Bob Fitner Corrected

Shortly after the Drudge Report headline went up, my associate Ali Akbar got a tip that the story involved Sen. Within one hour, Akbar had confirmed this with other sources, and we understand that numerous reporters in D.C. have heard similar reports.

Two women from the Dominican Republic told The Daily Caller that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez paid them for sex earlier this year.

In interviews, the two women said they met Menendez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expensive 7,000 acre resort in the Dominican Republic. They claimed Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100.

I guess Moe Lane is right about making sure you collect from Democrats

But I have to disagree with the sentiment from Stacy McCain concerning this question:

What would Lilly Ledbetter say?

Frankly we know the answer to that, it was given by a different activist for women in a similar situation, a reporter Named Nina Burleigh back in 1998:

“I would be happy to give him a blowjob just to thank him for keeping abortion legal. I think American women should be lining up with their presidential kneepads on to show their gratitude for keeping the theocracy off our backs.”

There are two different cultures in America, the culture of the left believes the end justifies the means.

Any person who thinks democrat women who still kneel and worship at the altar of Bill Clinton are going to care about Bob Menendez paying for sex from women in the Dominican Republic has not paid attention to the Democrat party and where they have gone in the last 15 years.

I have no doubt as long as Mendenez votes the way Ms. Ledbetter and the media wants she and they will have absolutely no problem with any thing he does with any woman.

Nice deb weighs in:

I say *possible* scandal because with just a few days until the election, the Democrats are going to be in full scale circle the wagons mode – proclaiming his innocence, attacking the accusers, etc. They can easily run out the clock using their usual lying and obfuscating (or ignoring) methods.

And if that doesn’t work, they’ll just brazenly stand by him as they’ve stood by so many other bad actors in the party who have been caught in even worse scandals.

With Sandy the MSM has an actual legit story from NJ that totally overshadows anything Mendenez is doing. If I was Bob Mendenez I’d be on the phone getting relief crews to the state STAT so that when some guy at a bar is asked about this issues he can say: “I don’t give a d*** who Mendenez is ******** as long as he gets my power on.”

That’s the ideal

Update 2: I can’t believe I forget Kennedy:

Ted Kennedy became “The Lion of the Senate” after killing Mary Jo Kopechne with his car and walking away without lifting a finger to help her. So when I found out about the offshore sexcapades of Senator Bob Menendez from New Jersey I figured it wasn’t worth wasting my time. New Jersey voters are now more interested in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy than they are the extracurricular activities of their Senator, and even if they weren’t preoccupied, it probably wouldn’t sway them anyway.

It’s like buying an indulgence.

I’ve already talked about the nonsense concerning equal pay laws pointing to the 1970’s Batman PSA to remind us all that equal pay for Equal work has been the law of the land for almost two generations.

But let’s pretend for the sake of argument that Yes there has been a grand conspiracy afoot and women do indeed make only 72% of men for the same work.

If we stipulate this as a fact lets note three important points.

1. The Economy is as bad as it ever has been in my lifetime, I don’t think it’s as bad as the great depression but I believe it is worse than the late 70’s which was the worst I remembered before now. (In fairness I didn’t have the responsibilities then that I have now)

2. In a tough economy business’ trying to survive find themselves forced to work on smaller and smaller profit margins.

3. Talk to any business owner and they will tell you the single biggest expense they deal with is labor, in fact the incredible costs of labor is the reason why so few people are being hired.

So for the last four years we’ve been in mired in a horrible economy with businesses forced to cut margins any way they can simply to survive.

Yet women have borne the brunt of the job loss in this economy

Here is the question: If you are a business owner in the worst economy in decades who is cutting your bottom line to the bone in order to try to preserve some kind of margin, wouldn’t you be the women who are being paid less and laying off the men who are making more? In fact aren’t you replacing the higher paid men with these women that you can supposedly get for 72 cents on the dollar?

But DaTechGuy, you KNOW these evil discriminatory business would not let money get in the way of their prejudices.

If that was the case then prejudice against Mexicans would have kept jobs from moving south of the border and bigotry against Chinese would have kept jobs from Asia.

You can’t have it both ways, either these guys are greedy businessmen who would throw grandma off the cliff to make an extra buck or they are bigots of such incredible proportion that they are willing, in an age when interest rates for investments are at best 1 or 2% a full 28 cents on the dollar just to satisfy their own hatred of women.

Last night I stopped by an event in NH and had the pleasure of interviewing Selina Owens concerning her book The Power Within A Conservative Women Engaging American for God Family & Country.

Ironically although we didn’t meet at the time I found out last night that Selina Owens was part of the Tea Party express convoy that I hitched a ride with back in 2010. Although I didn’t know it at the time there were a few people asking “why is some guy getting on the bus now?”

Of course at the time I had no radio show and I was just becoming known as a national blogger funny how times change.

Senior Citizens tend to remember things from their youth, sometimes clearer than things in the present. I’m still quite a few years away from this but I clearly remember seeing this PSA when I was a kid

It’s not surprising that the image of a beautiful Yvonne Craig might stick in a young boy’s memory, but that aside there are two facts about this PSA that are worth repeating.

One is trivia. In this PSA Batman was played by Dick Gautier NOT Adam West who didn’t want to return to the role that typecast him until he became a fixture on Family Guy.

One is not, I can’t seem to find the actual date of this PSA. I’ve seen numbers as old as 1969 (I don’t think that’s right) to 1974, (I think I saw this PSA before then) but either way this means this PSA is at least 38 years old..

Here is my question:

We have heard the left say over and over that if you didn’t support the Lilly Ledbetter law, you were NOT for equal pay.

But for at least 38 years equal pay has been FEDERAL LAW.

If that is the case why is Lily Ledbetter the yardstick for something that has been the law of the land for decades?

Now I don’t claim to be an expert on the Ledbetter or the Ledbetter law. But every employer who has owned a business since the 70’s knows that equal pay for equal work has been the law of the land for decades and the penalties for violating this are stiff.

Again I don’t know the Ledbetter law, I’m sure other bloggers can address it, but our friends on the left who are pretending that until Barack Obama signed this bill into law in 2008 equal pay for equal work wasn’t the law of the land are relying on folks who have short memories.

I guess this explains the drive to get kids to vote less memories to worry about.

I spent a lot of time in the last year attacking polls so skewed that it was amazing that people attempted to push them as reality:

Well it looks like, as it always does, reality has caught up with the CBS/Times poll:

According to the survey, conducted May 11-13, 46 percent of registered voters say they would vote for Romney, while 43 percent say they would opt for Mr. Obama. Romney’s slight advantage remains within the poll’s margin of error, which is plus or minus four percentage points

The big number within this poll however is this one:

Romney is up with Women? But…but we’ve been told that Romney Rush Limbaugh and the GOP HATE women! I mean Move on just released this ad…

Where is the gender gap? There’s supposed to be an earth shattering gender gap. And for that matter where are the comments on the MoveOn ad on YouTube? Oh sorry they aren’t allowing any.

On Morning Joe today I’ve never seen so many gloomy faces who are not really having an easy time spinning this, particularly when Joe pointed out the crosstabs:

You mean this poll has more democrats than republicans, In fact 70% of the poll (75% unweighted) respondents are not republicans and not only is Ronney leading but he is leading among women?

Chuck Todd as I type right now is on Morning Joe pooh poohing the poll saying he wants to see them shake the pot again. Joe Scarborough has just said people in Chicago is telling them to discount the CBS/NYT poll.

Why is the CBS/NYT embracing reality now? Well it could be to give a sense of urgency to democrats to work harder or it could be that they have decided to embrace reality to increase credibility (good thing I wasn’t drinking when I typed that one).

What I actually think is this move is strategic. It is going to be necessary to have a narrative of the Obama campaign “roaring back” or having momentum. By embracing reality today in August or September they can release a poll with a bigger skew and viola instant Democratic momentum to report!

That plan counts on the average person not paying attention to crosstabs (they’re right) and the situation not getting so far out of hand that Obama’s defeat is a given.

On THAT one I’d be a little worried if I was them.

I’d give the Romney people advice here but they have played their cards so well they certainly don’t need my advice, but for the rest of us who are still worried the message is the same:

Ride Right Through them, they’re demoralized as Hell!

Guys let’s take it to them on the State and Local level.

Update: Hotair says this:

The bombshell number, obviously, is Romney leading O by two among women. If that happens on election day, rest assured that the overall margin will be a lot wider than three points.

It’s going to be fun.

Every single day the Catholic Church feeds more people, houses more people , clothes more people, visits more imprisoned people and educates more people than any other institution on the planet earth can ever hope to.

Matthew Kelly Worcester Mass. March 20th 2010

Last Night I was in Worcester where 390-400+ people attended a fundraiser for Visitation House.

While the Worcester Telegram focused on the controversy concerning Anna Maria College and the Bishop worthy of Page B1 and some of the remarks of former Mayor & Ambassador Ray Flynn (Page B12) they had little to say about the actual mission of Visitation House.

Visitation House ministers to pregnant women in crisis. Here is a description from their web site:

Grounded in the Gospel and in the culture of life of the Catholic Church, Visitation House is a home that welcomes women with crisis pregnancies in the spirit of Elizabeth, who welcomed her cousin the Virgin Mary with awe-filled joy and true hospitality of heart. In this spirit, Visitation House provides material, emotional, and spiritual assistance to these women, as well as the peace of living in a Christian home.

By providing housing and basic living needs at no cost, we seek to address the needs of pregnant women who want to choose life but feel that they have no real means or resources to do so. A woman who comes to Visitation House will learn how to access the services that are available to her and will take part in a basic life skills training course. Visitation House draws its mission and its strength from the Gospel of Life; therefore a woman who comes to stay with us will learn about Catholic teachings on human life and the greater good to which these teachings call us. Additionally, she will have opportunities to be involved in the prayer life of the house while being encouraged to nurture her own prayer life for her benefit and that of her baby. Thus she will be able to come to a greater understanding of her own dignity, while living in a community that welcomes and nurtures life.

Here is my interview with Jim Williams the Chairman of the board:

I hate to admit it, I had never heard of Visitation house until yesterday, I wonder how many of my fellow Catholics hitting the Bishop over Anna Maria or people in the MSM who hit the church over contraception realize the work that is done here and all over the country for women.

This is what pro-life is all about. If you’d like to help you can donate online here.

Update: I recorded a lot of interviews, I’ll be posting them over the next few days
