Ny-18 Sean Maloney & the Enron Jobs Model

I hinted a bit at some claims by Sean Manhattan Transfer Maloney as being a part of a company that created 100’s of jobs.

Turns out this company is called Kiodex, Inc., a risk management firm.

Well yeah Risk management financial sector, I’m sure this is a great company, hiring great people, making great financial decisions for its investors as per their great owners like…Enron?

In fact it turns out that not only did Enron own part of his company, but Kiodex had a deal whereby Kiodex could market its service THROUGH Enron

Kiodex, Inc., a provider of web-based risk management and trading systems, today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to market the Kiodex Risk Workbench(SM) in conjunction with EnronOnline.

and Provide risk analysis to customers of Enron

EnronOnline customers will soon have a new risk analysis option when trading commodities online. The Enron site, which has transacted more than $485 billion in commodities products since its launch in November 1999, is teaming up with Kiodex to provide certain functionalities of its soon to be released Risk Workbench to EnronOnline users. Starting in the second half of this year, EnronOnline users will be able to calculate a basic set of risk management reports on transactions in natural gas, crude oil and refined petroleum products free of charge.

Hey I wonder how that “risk analysis” worked out for Enron customers?

Well a lot of people thought a lot of Enron, it’s not like the company was praising them a month before the company went kaput…oh wait

Just as Enron pioneered transparency in the energy markets, Enron can set the gold standard for disclosure of aggregate risk. (I know the other dealers will want to squirm their way out offollowing suit.) I have supreme confidence in Enron’s risk controls, and I’m thinking thatan independent measurement of this kind could dispel the market’s overblown and baseless fears.note full e-mail after the jump

Yup baseless fears about Enron, I wonder if the American people agree?

Well perhaps Mr. Maloney never saw this e-mail

well so maybe he did but remember what the White House said about Libya they get a ton of emails it’s not like they are going to see every single one of them.

Well I’m sure you that’s not going to sway the left. I’m sure Mr. Maloney is just as reliable on Jobs and Enron as the Obama administration is on Benghazi.

Me I say this:

Re-Elect Nan Hayworth to Congress in NY 18

She doesn’t think Enron is the model for job creation

Roadtrip: Fishkill NY 11:32 AM Nan Hayworth Office

I’m sitting right now in the Fishkill offices of Congresswomen Nan Hayworth waiting to hear back from campaign officials concerning her race here in NY-18.

Oddly enough I stayed at the local Days Inn under a mile from here

Thanks for the bed oh Tip Jar hitters

but when I found out Zilla of the Resistance who I hoped to visit with was in a local hospital I decided to swing up first to see her and how she is doing.

Zilla and her reader provided portable nebulizer

This was a bit of a shock to me but not as much of a shock to those who have falsely claimed that Zilla either was not sick or not even a woman

You know I’m always hoping for a tip jar hit (and I’ll ask for one below) but if you can only afford to give to one of us, I think Zilla could use it more.

From the Hospital I headed back to Fishkill and saw the Hayworth Office where they staff kindly allowed me some space to work:

and a little bit of Hayworth swag

As a rule I don’t take yard signs as they are most valuable in the district.

Hayworth’s district is small compared to some of the large one farther north:

But the fight is just as tough, the left has predictably been using their standard “War on Women” lines, the fact that Nan Hayworth is not only a woman but a medical doctor doesn’t seem to have caused any kind of ripple in this nonsense. It certainly doesn’t seem to faze the overwhelmingly female staff that I met in the office.

There is however a real interesting issue concerning this race. Nan’s opponent Sean Maloney who apparently is looking for a spot in the group Manhattan Transfer since he has done is best to try to convince the voters of the district that he has transferred himself to this district from Manhattan, but two days ago during the Debate on Tuesday bragged about being involved in a company that created 100’s of jobs.

It is an effort to change the complexion of a race that RCP has +7 for Hayworth at the moment but I suspect this boast might have costs as apparently this company has more to it than meets the eye, in fact it has more to it that some folks on the left might not want in front of the voters eyes…but that for my next post.

Let me leave you with this thought

Re-Elect Nan Hayworth to Congress in NY 18

Because you can’t have too many Republican Women Doctors in Washington

The only “war on women” is by the left against people like Nan who won’t blindly follow their lead. You can kick into her campaign here.

Update: Dan Riehl is ill too, my best to him.

Realville: Two bad GOP polls I like WBUR in MA Time in Ohio

There are two polls I checked out before leaving the hotel today, both had bad news for the GOP but beyond that there is nothing else in common.

One is the WBUR poll on the Brown Warren Race. The WBUR poll shows a big swing toward Warren, now up by 5.

I’ve looked at the internals of the WBUR poll and as always they are spot on.

Although I want Scott Brown to win, this poll pleases me, Brown has made some big mistakes in the air war (more on that tomorrow) and hopefully this poll will cause him to pivot to a better strategy, the one that gave him the lead in the first place.

You can’t correct a problem unless you know it’s there, this poll informs the Brown campaign of a problem and thus is useful

I like that!

While I like the WBUR poll I absolutely LOVE the Time Magazine poll in Ohio showing Obama up 5.

You might ask: “DaTechGuy have you gone roadtrip crazy? Why would you love a poll showing Romney losing Ohio?”

Simple I looked at the internals of this poll. Unlike most polls the partisan splits are not as obvious, you have to do some math but it’s really quite simple.

They polled 783 people in the unweighed sample 290 Democrats, 220 Republicans and 224 independent. That comes out to a sample that is Dem 37.0% GOP 28.0 and 28.6 Ind That’s D+9

With 742 total respondents you have 273 Dems, 206 GOP and 215 independents that’s a split of 36.7% dems, 27.7% GOP and 28.9 Ind. Again a D+9 split

As Ohio is a +1 GOP state on registration this indicates the MSM has gone back to the “spin the polls” business to keep their people on the registration.

I’m delighted by this, it means the Obama campaign and the MSM has decided there is no way to reverse these numbers short of simple propaganda, this means they will not change their strategy and this race is finished.

Either that or the left is in denial, that’s exactly where I want them to be.

Closing note. In the studio on Morning Joe, Joe & Mika and the Panel are all hanging their hats on the Time Magazine poll, but Chuck Todd in Ohio hedged. Joe & Mika are opinion folk, they can afford to take a side, but Chuck Todd is the chief WH guy, he can’t look a fool

Mitt Romney is going to win this election and it’s not going to be close.

RoadTrip: Is Andrew Roraback 2012’s version of Scott Brown in CT?

One fact of the Race for the Senate in CT that has been overlooked is the seat that was held by the Democrat Candidate for senate Chris Murphy is now open.

and that district in the Northwest corner of the state CT-5 has a candidate named Andrew Roraback who might be in a position to be the 2012 of Scott Brown in CT.

Although I didn’t have a lot of time to speak with Andrew, I spent a considerable amount of time with his staff, he is a long serving member of the CT state House and Senate, and he was the only member of the GOP delegation to vote for death penalty repeal giving him some crossover appeal.

Most importantly the new district includes the towns he represented for many many years so he has a strong base of voters on both sides of the aisle who are familiar with and respect him.

So we have a GOP candidate with a long record and some crossover appeal running in an open seat. Unlike Scott Brown in 2010 he doesn’t have the advantage of an opponent making critical mistakes on the trail but also unlike Brown he is not running statewide so his familiarity with the district and the voters could make all the difference.

With Mitt Romney and the GOP poised to control all three branches of the Government in January perhaps CT like Mass before them might decide they want to have at least one voice in the majority when the time comes to make decisions. Andrew Roraback can be that voice and with the GOP with such an advantage in fundraising over the Dems the party is in a potion to help make it happen.

Vote Andrew Roraback for Congress

Even the bluest of states deserve at least one seat in the Majority.

You can kick into his campaign here.
