Has the FBI Received the Coconut Treatment?

by baldilocks

Remember this?

Omar Mir Seddique, also known as Omar Mateen, was an American mass murderer who killed 49 people and wounded 58 others in a mass shooting at the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, on June 12, 2016. He had been interviewed by the FBI three times and was on their radar because he had made comments sympathetic to terrorists and attended the same Florida mosque as a suicide bomber named Moner Abusalha, who had gone to Syria to blow up Syrian government soldiers in 2014.

When asked why Mateen was dropped from the FBI list, [Former FBI Director James] Comey indicated that the FBI’s concerns about Mateen were eased after a witness told the bureau that Mateen got married, had a child and found steady work.(…)

Likewise, the Boston Marathon terrorists, the Tsarnaev brothers had been investigated and the FBI had even received warnings from Russia of a possible terror attack. NBC reported: In March 2011, the FSB, the Russian intelligence agency that arose from the remnants of the KGB, sent a cable to the FBI with its concerns about Tamerlan Tsarnaev and the Tsarnaev family. (…)

The letter was a page and a quarter long and very detailed. It included contact information, with addresses and phone numbers, for many of the members of the Tsarnaev family, including Tamerlan and his mother . . . .in June 2011. The FBI investigation of Tamerlan Tsarnaev was closed. According to the report, “the assessment found no links to terrorism.”

Remember the Fort Hood terrorist, Col. Nidal Hasan? An FBI-run terrorism task force knew last December that Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, sent 16 e-mails to Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical Muslim cleric in Yemen who supports violence against the West.

When the Fort Hood Shooting and the Boston Marathon Bombing—and 9/11–occurred, Robert Mueller was the FBI director. Could be a coincidence, but consider this 2008 report by Rowan Scarborough:

[The Council on American-Islamic Relations] trains FBI agents across the country on Islam and how to treat Muslims. CAIR’s archived press releases show numerous instances of CAIR representatives training the FBI, as well as the Marine Corps, local law enforcement and government employees.

The FBI severed formal ties with CAIR back in 2009, but the camel’s nose—in the form of a corporate mindset—seems to have remained inside the tent for a few years afterward. Is it still there?

There’s a new acting director, of course (Andrew McCabe), and a new nominee for the position, Christopher Wray. But changing leadership is easier than changing the course of a bureaucratic culture. (It seems to me that the FBI’s present state is the result of a process implemented long before Donald Trump or even Barack Obama.) Also to be kept in mind, the FBI is a cog in the National Intelligence wheel.

There are many who claim that our government has been intentionally infiltrated by those who long to implement fundamental change, whether that change is moral, social and/or spiritual. Our most recent former president was more open about his desire to shake the foundations of this country and, to a certain extent, he was successful. But he didn’t start that fire; he only kept it kindled.

Can Trump Administration can throw water on it?  Time will tell. And, I suspect that much of the Organized Left’s present tactics are intended to distraction the Administration from getting down to this serious business.

The Injustice of the Justina Pelletier case in one Tweet

On this Marathon Monday I can’t do better than Michael Graham here

If you aren’t familiar with the Pelletier case, look here and here.

And you should read this too.

If I was in another state you couldn’t pay me to take my child to children’s hospital or any Massachusetts hospital for treatment

Exit Question: Can someone explain to me why Charlie Baker isn’t running hard on this?

Update: Maybe the Pelletiers can get Harry Reid to call them “Domestic Terrorists” then they would get the same visitation rights as Boston Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

How stupid do you think we are? New Boston Suspects edition

I want to ask a really basic question about these three kids who have been arrested concerning the Boston Bombing.

I won’t ask about their association with the Bomber, I won’t ask about any community of religion, or ethnic connections or even what their opinions were on the US or Israel or anything else that we don’t know. I ask any reasonable person to ask this question:

“Go take what you want” your friend says, and what do these innocent uninformed young men do? They grab, not video games, not CD’s, not cool posters, not Magic Cards, his pot, his magic cards or his Doctor Who Scarf (if he had one) You go and grab his Laptop and his explosives!

Does a person with no foreknowledge no connection no involvement to the terror attack in Boston upon seeing the photo of their friend on the television as a prime suspect think: “You know I think I’ll go to his apartment and help myself to his laptop & explosives…and NOTHING ELSE!”?

I suggest the answer is self-evident.

To Miranda or not? Who do you trust?

Michael Corleone: My father is no different than any powerful man, any man whose responsible for other people, like a senator or president.

Kay Adams: Do you know how naive you sound, Michael? Presidents and senators don’t have men killed.
Michael: (Pausing) Who’s being naive, Kay?

The Godfather 1972

My Sicilian Grandfathers both died before I was 5 but I still remember the advice my Dad told me his father-in-law the Barber used to give about weapons.

Never use a weapon you’re afraid of in case it’s used against you.

This is the problem I’m working out in my head concerning the question of Miranda rights for young Mr. Tsarnaey.

While Mr. Tsarnaey is an American Citizen, who was apprehended in America by American law enforcement, he was clearly in the process of committing an act of Terrorism.  But that’s not really the question, “is this terror or not?” or even “Is  he a terrorist or not”.  The question to me seems to be is this an act of war or not and that question in answered by establishing one thing:  Is Mr. Tsarnaey a jihadist or is he not?

If he is a Jihadist, that makes the Boston Bombings an act of war which makes him an enemy combatant and not eligible for Miranda or even for trial.  To Gitmo he can go.

If he is not then that makes him a criminal mass murderer who no mater what we feel has Miranda rights.

This is a fundamental question and as he is a citizen this question needs to be answered and decided before a court of law.

“But DaTechGuy”, you say? “That’s nonsense.  How can you even THINK that, you a person so much opposed to radical Islam?”

Because I remember this

army training

and what Mark Steyn said at the time this came out

Think of the number of people involved in the creation, printing and distribution of this graphic – and along the way not one of them stopped to say, “Hey, this is totally dumb.”

and these words by Robert Spencer:

Obama has repeated many, many times that we are not at war with Islam, and the mainstream media line is that to suggest otherwise would be evidence of “hatred” and “bigotry.” But apparently it is not “hatred” and “bigotry” for the U.S. to declare that Catholicism is the same sort of thing as al-Qaeda

Until it was clearly established who the bombers were we had a week of the MSM trying to blame this on the right and that’s not even counting the weeks of going after anyone who doesn’t agree with them on guns & gay marriage.  I think of all that has been said and done over the last few years and ask the $64,000 question?

Do you really trust these guys & the people in government they support to decide if you are a terrorist or religious extremist and not subject to Miranda without a least a hearing?

I’ve often been told I’m trusting to the point of stupidity, but I’ve never been that stupid.

Bostonians Experience Relief As Suspect Captured

The people of Boston are all breathing a sigh of relief as the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing has been arrested. People lined the streets, creating an impromptu parade as SWAT cars and officers passed through the cheering crowds.

Read more from the AP here:

WATERTOWN, Mass. (AP) — Lifting days of anxiety for a city and a nation on edge, police captured the surviving Boston Marathon bombing suspect, found bloodied in a backyard boat Friday night less than 24 hours after a wild car chase and gun battle that left his older brother dead and Boston and its suburbs sealed in an extraordinary dragnet.

“We got him,” Boston Mayor Tom Menino tweeted. A cheer erupted from a crowd gathered near the scene.

“CAPTURED!!!” police added later. “The hunt is over. The search is done. The terror is over. And justice has won. Suspect in custody.”

Bless the police and other first responders who have been working so hard over the past few days!
